I've had a lot of leakage issues with the Duracell AAA batteries. I store all my batteries in a Battery Daddy designed to store batteries. Batteries are stored in the house with multiple brands of other batteries, Duracell are the only ones that consistently leak and only the AAA. I've had to throw away over 20 of these Duracells.
All of the defective batteries had at least 4 years left before expiration, the latest 2029.

Purchased a Duracell car battery. It lasted less than 16 months before completely dying. Battery was used in a recreational vehicle and kept on a trickle charger (bought from the same store). Trickle charger showed an error light and battery would not charge. Store refused to honor the full 2 year warranty, claiming the battery was abused. It was not abused in any way. As above it was on a trickle charger when not in use. Contacted Duracell. They replied "For all inquiries regarding Duracell SLIU1RT batteries, including questions or compatibility issues, please contact our partner and distributor, ********* **** ****** at (xxx) xxx-xxxx." They made the defective battery. It has their name on it. They should take responsibility for both their quality and for the reputability of their dealers.

I have had nothing but trouble for years with these batteries leaking I have a maintained in equipment they leak I have in storage they leak and no matter what I do I can’t stop them from leaking. This seems to be a real bad problem with Duracell. I’ve had other batteries in the same area of storage , and had no trouble.
The amount of equipment that has been damaged is unacceptable. I called spoke to representative. They said they would send me other batteries which they did and those batteries didn’t leak but the new ones I have bought are still leaking. I got a bag full of Duracell batteries with powder all over them.

I just wanted to take a quick moment to let others know that despite the bad reviews I see listed on this site for Duracell, I am very impressed and happy with their service. Not many companies stand behind their products, or promises, but Duracell is one of the few I have experienced. I had an unfortunate bad batch of batteries that leaked into one of my professional tools I had invested in. I saw on the Duracell battery package that they cover any issues related to bad batteries and I contacted them to explore my options and ended up filing a claim for the warranty. Despite my tool being less than brand new, I sent it in, along with the batteries that were defective and their packaging and the final outcome was they approved it and reimbursed me toward the tool. The process did take a couple of months from start to finish, but they were very clear about the time it would take and kept me in the loop. I do not know many other companies that actually stand by their word these days and I am very thankful Duracell does and will continue to purchase their products and hope this review helps others see that despite t heir bad rating on BBB, they really are a great company... remember, most happy people don't leave reviews either. Thanks
