    I have earthquake insurance with *** ****** insurance company. There was an earthquake at the beginning of April and I had damage to my carport and filed a claim with the company. Two adjusters came out to my property and I told them that I had one claim for my carport. A letter I received from the company which was dated July 9, 2024 denied to claim, one for a patio and one for a driveway. We never talked about the patio or the driveway as my only claim was for the carport. Prior to receiving the rejection letter, I called and left 4separate messages for Steve L*******, one of the adjusters. He never called me back. After I received the rejection letter, I called Steve L*******, the supervising adjuster who visited my property because I had questions about the inaccuracies in the letter sent to me. He did not call me back. A week later I wrote him a letter with my concerns and asking him to call me and he did not call me. I called my insurance agency and Tammy, who filed the claim called Steve L******* and asked him to call me. He did not call me. She called him a week later and asked him to call me and he has never called me. I wrote a letter to the vice president of claims, Richard ***** with my concerns about the rejection letter but have never heard from him either. While I am filing a claim with the company I also am a customer who pays them over $1000 a year for homeowners insurance. No one from the company has ever called me back.

    Apologies, but I have just gained access to our BBB of CT account and caught up to this complaint.  The associate here at NLC who used to manage the communications with BBB of CT left the company a couple months ago and this was missed in the transition.  Now that I have access to this account and have reviewed this complaint, I will expedite an internal review and ensure we follow-up with the customer on this asap.

    I read the response to my complaint and appreciate that they are going to review the issues I had with the erroneous letter I received, and the fact that no one has phoned me from the company ever. I look forward to hearing from someone from NLC.

    NLC took money from my Citizens Bank account without my authorization. I called them about it as soon as I saw it was posted to my checking account on Monday Jan 30, 2023. They gave me the run around. I had asked them to cancel the withdrawal transaction they put on my ******** **** account. They have caused me 5 overdrafts for taking the money out of my Checking without my Authorization. I would like for BBB to speak to NLC and for them to put the money back in my account. I live on a fixed income and as of now I am -987.00 in my Citizens checking account. When I spoke a Brittany on 12/31/23 at 8:58 AM she told me that my money would go back in my account within 2 to 3 days. It is now Feb 1st. Please help me.

    Attached please find NLC’s response to the consumer’s complaint.  As of 2/3/2023 the funds were removed from NLC’s account by ********* **** and refunded to the consumer.  We were unable to initiate a refund after she initiated the refund with her own bank.
