I have a completed move by this organization back on 11/14/23. I was charged for items not used as well as inappropriate time charges. I have reached out to the representative of the location on 11/17/23 and 12/14/23 to speak with a supervisor to discuss and resolve the matter. Each time I was informed someone will get back to me, however each time, they did not.Initial Complaint

Case #: ******* Still has no resolution. Absolute worse move of our life. We moved in mid-September and towards the very beginning they scratched floors in the basement of our old house-we pulled the movers aside and said hey you know what things happen we get it, BUT the new house has brand new $15,000 floors and we have we spent our savings on this- please we are begging you take precautions and cover the furniture and/or floors. Their response ok ok yah we are so sorry we’ve got you and the floors covered. Brand new floors at the new house completely ruined within the hr of their arrival. Plan of action we called the manager Anthony who says yes we will help you send pics etc. so we sent pics and filed a claim. Since then we received an estimate from a flooring company and sent it to Anthony with no response no until finally we call on a number not known to him and he answers-he says he’ll call at noon the following day and then doesn’t call. Now not answering that number. we’ve now sent 12 emails with only an initial response and all others no response. We escalated it with a national 1-800 college hunks call # 3xs w no response from the ******** location. And to be completely transparent it wasn’t just the floor it’s just that we are good people trying to be nice by only requesting that be fixed… The truth is, they pushed the door into our drywall, scuffed up several newly painted walls and didn’t Put furniture items back together. we want the damages paid for period.Initial Complaint

Me and my partner requested a moving job with College Hunks to for Sept 1st, moving from ********* ** to *** (movers to arrive by 1pm). “Job # *******”
This business never showed up on the 1st, calling us 3pm that day to reschedule for the next day (this, after we made a few phone calls for updates, being told “they are on their way”). They said their truck broke down. We went ahead and rearranged our schedule.
On the morning of 9/2, we load up, and the movers go their separate way, and we drive our own way to ***. On the way, I get a phone call from the movers, who tell me that their moving truck has broken down (again?), so they are waiting for another truck to meet them.
The movers are in a new truck when they arrive(2hr delay), and we begin the load-out process. The movers were friendly, however often careless. Both my partner and I were helping these two movers, picking up our items they’d drop. Once we got to our chest of drawers in the truck, one of the legs was ripped in half.
Later that day, once we were unpacked, we were missing some boxes, and our antique lamp was also broken (wrapped tightly, in a box marked FRAGILE).
Since 9/2, I have called at least twice a week to try and get a hold of someone. After 3 weeks of calls, I did get a hold of a franchise manager (Caleb) who said he’d call me back the next day with some more information about the missing items. Didn’t hear from him again.
Then a week later, after I paid for a $300 repair to the drawers with the broken leg, got a hold of another manager (Anthony T*****) who helped me submit claims for missing boxes, and the damaged items.
Anthony texted my personal number to tell me the $300 repair reimbursement was approved, and asked for a quote for lamp repair ($400). He also told me “we weren’t able to locate any stray boxes”.
And that was the last thing I heard from him.
We have not received the $300 refund, nor any info on missing items or on their decision for our $400 antique lamp repair.Initial Complaint

I hired College Hunks **************** to Haul away old furniture from my ******* home which I was selling. One truck came and was completely filled. When they went to bill me using their phone with a credit card reader on their telecom service, the transaction got partially completed and then the phone line dropped.
They assured me that it did not go through and requested that I allow them on my WIFI network to put the transaction through. I allowed this and they completed the second transaction.
I then received two billing transactions on my card for the identical $647.90 amount. One is titled College Hunks ******* and one is College Hunks ********, I cannot explain why, but the timestamps should be minutes apart.
I have been trying to work this out with the fraud department at ******** but each company (******* and ********) says the charge is correct. How can there be two identical charges minutes apart on a credit card?
I feel that this is an obvious fraud, I believe that College Hunks ******* and College Hunks ******** are the same company.
I have attached part of my credit card statement showing the 2 transactions , in sequence.
******** may be able to get me the time stamps.
Please help resolve this. I think because they saw that I was elderly that I would simply not notice this extra charge.Initial Complaint

in date 7.20.2022 This company picked up donation material for ******** at a cost to me of $1,064.26 paid via ******** *******. I was supposed to receive a tax statement regarding my donation within 7-10 days. It was never received.
The Franchisee, a Mr ****, does not respond to my emails, phone messages, or complaints through their corporate headquarters.
I paid for a service and simply want this donation tax statement. If that is not possible, I wish a complete refund.Initial Complaint

We hired College Hunks to move us from **** ** to Norwalk, CT. The movers were nice people, however they damaged two of our expensive pieces. We all watched them damage the furniture, they took responsibility. However, the manager, Paco Acevedo is avoiding us completely. They were supposed to take our furniture to get repaired, its been over two weeks now and we are getting no feedback or response from the company. We are beginning to think that we may never get our furniture back. They are also unwilling to provide us with any other compensation relief. We have been sleeping on the floor because one of the items was our headboard. I am hoping this complaint pushes Paco to respond to us and resolve this issue. Both items damaged were well over $4K.
