DOCS billed us for the incorrect test administered on or around July 20, 2022. We sent a letter disputing the transaction after telling them verbally. They have ignored our letter and instead call repeatedly and will not refund or stop collection activities.Initial Complaint

My son had his physical done at docs on 8/8/22. They asked me to pay up front for the office visit, as they weren’t sure if my insurance would cover the physical, as it was a few days before his last yearly physical. I paid $145. Docs never submitted the visit to my insurance. My insurance company confirms they cover 1 physical in a calendar year. This would be covered. No one ever picks up their phone and I have a trail of emails over a months time with no resolution. I want them to return my money. They should have submitted the claim to my insurance. This is going on 4 months of this.Initial Complaint

On the morning of November 16th, 2022 I went to Docs Urgent Care, *** * **** *** ********** ** ***** I have flu like symptoms, I was desperate for help. I sign in, I pay $100 co pay. And at 8:40 am I am told that the physician called out and there's not a doctor. I then am told I can do telehealth. I ask for my money back, I need to see a doctor, I need someone to listen to my lungs. And I am told by the front desk that they can't give me a refund, that I have to call their billing department. **************************************************** ****s random phone numbers, no email address and when I called three times, the "Billing" department has a recording that the line can't take messages, then disconnects. I want the money this Docs Urgent Care Medical Group has taken from me, they took this then told me I can't see a doctor? And now no way to contact them?Initial Complaint

• Office Visit: 1-2-22
• Purpose of Visit: Covid Antigen Test
• Location of Visit: *** ***** **** ********** ** Docs Urgent Care Inc.
• Statement Date: 7-11-22
• Received in Mail- 7-20-22
• Account #: 564912
• Patient Name: ******* *******
• Payment Due: $158.38
I called my insurance provider on 7-20-22 asking why the full bill was not covered for this visit- they advised because the Provider: ***** * ********** was not in-network for the office visit coded on the bill. I advised that this was an urgent care, simply went to get a covid test and whoever was there to provide the test did it, I didn’t have a choice of who to be seen by at the location. They advised that given this is an urgent care and I didn’t have a choice of who to be seen by, they would cover the visit, however, they needed Docs Urgent Care to code it as an “Urgent Care” visit, not and “Office Visit” because to them an Office Visit mean a specialist not an urgent care. I called Docs Urgent Care to have this correction made, and rebill to my insurance company for payment – I couldn’t speak to a person or leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. I wen to their website and chatted with a customer service rep who advised to email ********************* I sent my request via email and shortly after I received a call from Matt, in the billing department, asking for payment. I advised I was looking to get the coding corrected as this was an Urgent Care visit not an Office Visit, this way my insurance company will happily pay the remaining balance. He said he could not make this change and they are allowed to charge it was an office visit. I challenged that, as it was false coding, this was an urgent care visit to get a covid test. No resolution was made on that phone call with Matt and he advised he would have a superior contact me and advise the same thing he did. I am simply requesting that the bill be correctly coded so Doc Urgent Care Inc can receive their money from my insurance provider.Initial Complaint

Hello and I would like to thank you in advance for your help. I have called thei billing telephone number at least two hundred times and only been able to speak with a person twice, the first person told me he would look into it and asked me to call back three days later. I tried to call starting on day three and continued for three weeks to no avail then got four new and uncorrected bills in the mail this weekend only to call literally another 67 times this morning before someone finally answered the phone and told me to send this email.
My family of five came into the Stratford office on December 9th and had COVID testing done because one of my daughters had a 103 fever, achiness and fatigue. We all walked in, registered, received our nasal swabs from the receptionist, waited in line along the wall of your hallway outside of the testing room, went in the room got swabbed, and walked directly out the opposite door of the room. At no point were any of us seen by anyone other than the girl that handed us the swab or the one that took it away from us. Since then I have received four bills each for a $30 copay. One for each member of my family that did not test positive for COVID. I called my insurance company to question this and was told the THE ONLY MEMBER of my family that was billed as a COVID test was my daughter that had tested positive for COVID, which of course had to be billed correctly because that had to be reported to the CDC. All of the rest of us were billed not for COVID tests but office visits of varying lengths regarding "testing of other communicable disease" with no mention at all of COVID testing. My insurance company was very clear that it appeared that the remaining visits were fraudulently billed so that copays could be assessed and that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is there any patient responsibility where COVID testing is concerned. I have since been sent to collections and DOCS refuses any wrongdoing on their part.Initial Complaint

12/17/2021 - $30.00
01/07/2022- $230.00
Docs Urgent care keeps billing me for services that they did not provide or were already paid for. I paid $125 for a DOT physical and they are charging another $30 for that day that was not supposed to be charged. I just received a bill they sent to collection for $230 for an unknown service out of Indiana. I live in Connecticut. I have contacted them and they refused to put a manager on the phone and the billing department does not handle these disputes so I had to email the main office at [email protected]. They are a nightmare to deal with. I sent a receipt of the $125 and they have not responded back and also the new bill for $230.00. What are these people doing? This fraud. I wonder how many people they are harassing and ripping off like this. This is a serious matter.
