      This is ridiculous to have to pay all this money to ride on a train with no air conditioning a one way ticket is 80 dollars to ******** and there is no air.

      The only reason Amtrak remains in business is bc they have a monopoly on the entire American rail system thank you for choosing Amtrak like we had another choice. Just took my 10th Amtrak trip and not ONCE has it been on time, usually 30 minutes to 120 minutes behind schedule which causes me to miss my next mode of transport :) 12 hours and the only food options is microwave hamburger with 250% of your daily sodium :)

      The employees drink the alcohol on the train and others give away full size bottles on the Acela train. Theres a lot of smoking marijuana outside at the crew base and nothing is done. I thought it would be a good place to work, well it isnt. Its not all what they tell you in orientation and or at the interview. Worst mistake I made going to work there.

      This has been the worst experience of my life. The food on the train is absolutely terrible. The roomette that was provided could not even adequately fit a 74-year-old and a 79-year-old person. He paid for a hotel in in *********** and it had no air conditioning so we went to a different hotel and they don't want to refund our money for the new hotel so they're keeping that money. I am demanding a refund from Amtrak immediately

      I was taking the train back from ********* TO ***********. The train was canceled on Monday, then they canceled it on Tuesday. Amtrak replaced the train with a bus. The seats were very uncomfortable, the driver drove mostly the back roads, and the driver did not seem experienced at all. Amtrak updated the information about changes at the last minute. The information does not give you the opportunity to travel a different way. DO NOT TRAVEL AMTRAK

      Zero stars honestly! It's been 10 years since I last rode the train and my GOD!!! The service has REALLY gone down hill! The conductors and attendants were so rude I don't ever want to take the train again!! 3 attendants sat there and watched a little old lady struggle to get her luggage and herself off the train!! And continued to sit and watch me jump in and help her since they couldn't be bothered! The overall attitude of ALL THE STAFF on our way to ***** was like they were all miserable to even be there!! Their announcements were pitifully lacking in enthusiasm or even just basic professionalism! When me and my very pregnant daughter boarded, we went straight to the observation car with our cooler so we could make our sandwiches for dinner. One conductor got on and told us we couldn't have our cooler in there and he haggled my pregnant daughter about sitting up all the way in her seat. She was having a hard time, clearly! There was hardly anybody on the train either it's not like we were bothering anyone whatsoever! The food was inedible!!! Tastes like straight up chemicals and card board and is WAY OVERPRICED!!! Years ago there used to be gentleman that worked on this train!! Now it's a bunch of lazy, no good, autta be ashamed of themselves, half a** conductors! I will be leaving my reviews everywhere!!! And I'll Def think twice before traveling with amrak! I've been a guest rewards member since 2011 and this is just disgusting! I haven't even gotten to the part bout the bathrooms and the tables in the lounge car being filthy! One attendant told a passenger where she could find the spray bottle to clean it herself. Yall wild for these prices and service!!! I will NEVER RECOMMEND AMTRAK!! DO BETTER AMTRAK!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! THE WAY YOU TREAT OLD PEOPLE AND PREGNANT PEOPLE IS APAWLING!!!! SHAME ON YOU!! I will say, the nice young lady attending the snack car was the only one to have a smile and say YOUR WELCOME AFTER BEING TOLD THANK YOU! ****

      Soooo *************** an effort to check off an item on my bucket list, I booked a round trip from ********** to **** with my sister, both of us train aficionados. We were looking forward to the scenic trek over the Sierras and retrace the path carved out by the pioneers and Chinese labor. Alas, it was not meant to be, as the train was over 5 hours late. Since we had company waiting for us in ****, we opted to simply drive there. This experience reinforced the understanding that Amtrak passenger service is neither dependable or punctual, especially in the west.Our efforts at recovering our costs were similarly disappointing. After applying both a cancellation FEE and a cancellation PENALTY, we recouped only about a third of our original investment, apparently as punishment for inconveniencing them, instead of the other way ********* this juncture, I am still unconvinced that Amtrak passenger service even exists, other than the part which takes your money and is miserly in refunding it.

      Amtrak can **** my c*** because I had a family emergency and had to miss my train. It was an EMERGENCY so obviously the last thing on my mind was oh yea lemme cancel my ticket. Called to get a refund and they said it was marked as a no show so no refund. This policy is literally so stupid and makes no sense. *** they just want the money. If they truly cared about their customers they would try to accommodate and actually WANT ME to come back.
