      Increased my rent from $139 to $239 within 5 months and broke contract by failing to give me 30 day notice of increase. A 71% increase.I received an invoice via email with an invoice date of 5/17/25 due 6/1/25, office claims they sent it via first class mail on 5/2/25 when I inquired about it in reference to the contract yet nothing had ever shown up, so they are lying. Additionally, even if they did send it on 5/2/25 via first class mail, they sent it on Friday when **** doesnt operate on the weekend, the earliest I could have received it would have been 5/9/2025 Additionally, according to the contract, since I provided an email and signed up for paperless I was consenting to receive all communications including rent increase via email.

      I signed a lease and paid for my unit. I was told I could move-in on a weekend, that my gate code would be sufficient, and I would not need to speak to a concierge. When I arrived at ** on Saturday, my unit was locked, there was no concierge, and no answer to the phone. My apartment lease ended that day, so I had no choice but to rent a unit at a competitor that was still open. I have sent multiple emails and left multiple voicemails seeking a refund, but they have ghosted me entirely. Truly terrible experience.

      The 5 ******* court Sterling VA location has a horribly hateful and degrading person. He is new but he is very evil. He locked up my storage room that is paid for And when I am at the office he tells me to leave because when I said I will take this matter to court, he says I am threatening him. Good thing that I recorded the conversation. He loves to make trouble and put customers in trouble with lies. There is no way to get any response from any responsible authority of this company. I am stuck taking kisses and being played and wronged . This place is filthy and dirty but the person at front desk makes it all the more worse.

      This year alone, Self Storage Plus has increased the price twice, and the second time without any warning. Before March of this year I was paying $197 for my unit, in March of 2024 they increased the. price to $242, and now in October without warning they increased the price of the same unit to $307! This is a price increase of *****%! Are you kidding me? I'm sure this has nothing to do with inflation, and more to do with unfair business practices towards us the clients. And to put the icing on the cake, a lot of elevators aren't working, and some of the doors don't open either. And did I mention that there's no bathroom on the premisses?

      I am currently renting a space in ************, **. The address is ********************************************************************************. *****. Last month I tried to move out at the end of the month. I was told that 3 days notice was not given. I remain paid until the 28th of June 2024. I was also advised they could not enter the space because the door was pulled down closed. I've left several messages and tried to enter my space; there is another lock on it. Another location said I checked out on June 1, 2024. This location is a few miles from the location where I rent. How can you double rent, and also enter the space they said they could not? All while still paid. The word criminal comes to mind. Zero stars was not an option.

      I was a client for 5 years with the ************ facility. I changed units to a bigger one and I did not have a code to get in. I was given a management code by an employee I used for 2 years. When I asked the new manager *************************** for a code she became very upset and demanded that I resolve the issue "now" I was on the way to a client and politely asked to reschedule for another hour or so. She started screaming and demanded that I stop the car and go to the office. I drove off and came back 1 hour later. She started screaming at me and i was not able to have a conversation or obtain a code. I emptied my unit and left a 1 1-star ****** review. ******* took my personal information from Self-storage Plus system and my company info. She had her Fiance ***************************** put a 1-star ****** review on my business C ***************** IT Services) claiming we conduct Business and he pertained to having a bad experience. That review Defame my company. My company had lost business based on a fake review.It's sad to see an employee of this company taking my personal information and retaliating.

      Got unit in 2018, now costs me 120 and can’t get in at night ?? wayyy to expensive for that

      This storage company does not send out invoices each month as other businesses do. There is no reminder or a bill of any kind. You are unable to pay your bill ahead of time. What kind of sense does that make? You must wait until the VERY DATE THAT THE BILL IS DUE TO PAY IT UNLESS YOU ARE ON AUTO PAY. I have had storage for most of my life and I am 64 years old. This is the worst storage company that I have ever used. THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THESE PEOPLE.

      They raise the rent by at least $60 every 6 months, don’t like it , move out. Mice, moths constantly. Nothing is done to warrant an increase in rates.

      I stored a couch and other items here over the summer. Rodents got into my unit and left droppings on many of my items. The couch was ruined, as were a trash can and some clothing. The management seemed completely unphased when I informed them of this, and just handed me a brochure for the insurance I bought when setting up the lease. I asked if I could throw the ruined items in their dumpster. They said no, and I had to hire third-party junk haulers to get rid of the couch. There are also rodent traps everywhere in this facility. Clearly this is a known problem that the management or company refuse to deal with properly. Do not store your stuff here unless you want to feed it to rats.
