    Backgroundclaims.com, hit my credit for $68.22 on July 10th. I had canceled my membership 7/5/24 just less than 24hrs after signing up for the $1.00 trial. Because they hit my CC for like $20.00 without my permission and knowledge. I found the charges in my CC statement, which I keep a check on throughout the day. I've sent them an email but no response on this July 10th charge. So what can I do to get refunded my money?

    On June 28th, 2024 I accessed the website *************************** and created an account to research my own background check. The website promises a free 5-day account that you can cancel at any time. 1. The information they had listed for me and my husband was inaccurate. There are other similar companies that offer this same service and at least their information is somewhat accurate. Theirs was lacking in every way. 2. On June 29th at about 1am I finished using my account. I went to the ”Cancel Membership” page on the website and completed the form as directed so that I would not be billed the monthly membership fee. I received notice that my request had been completed. I would not be charged further. 3. On Wednesday, July 3rd at 8:42am (5 days after canceling my account) I received an alert from my bank that a charge for $36.20 had been charged to my debit card by “backgroundclaim.com” and asked if I had authorized it. I replied “No” so the funds did not pull from my account. 4. At that time I went back to the website to verify the process for termination of my account. It was documented in the secure site (when I logged in) that my termination had been processed. So I filled out the form online again (for all 3 of my email addresses just in case). Then I emailed their support email ([email protected]) requesting that they ensure my account was cancelled and I would not be billed again. 5. Again on July 3rd at: 12:26pm for $32; and 4:08pm for $18. 6. Again in July 4th at: 8:40am for $32.60; 12:21pm for $21.40; and 4:34pm for $16. 7. Again on July 5th at: 8:49am for $27; and 4:39pm for $14. 8. Again today, July 6th at: 8:54am for $20; and 4:47pm for $15. 9. I called the toll free number today at 7:58pm and the representative asked me for the last four digits of my debit card and cancelled my subscription stating I would receive an email showing this. I still have not received it as of 8:52pm.

    I have canceled 2 months in a row.They continue to charge my card.Today 5/4/2024 lady said she can't find my account. It's funny they charged my card 5/3/2024. I want my money back.

    On April 2 2024 my credit card was charged for $52 on a members that was 'canceled on March 2,2024. I called the company only for the rep to tell me that using their email was not sufficient enough to cancel this membership. I then proceeded to explain to her that after using this email, it told me that my membership was canceled on March 2nd 2024.She said that it was not canceled that you have to call in order for it to be canceled. Nowhere does it Is state that you have to call in order to have the membership canceled. I explained to her.How can it tell me it was canceled?But yet it was still not and I was still charged.She did not have an answer. Only to tell me you have to call.In order to cancel nowhere does it state on that website you have to call.

    I signed up for $1, 5 *********; within 24 hours I canceled the service as it didn't provide any useful information that you can't get for free from online searches. Since October 2023 I have been charged $68.22, totaling $409.32 plus small charges of $18, $15. I canceled my subscription but the company now states (March 2024) that I had to cancel online and then call them to cancel again. I have never heard of this practice done by any reputable business. If a customer calls or cancels online, then that should suffice. Never was I told that I had to cancel by phone AFTER canceling online. I need all charges by this company from October 2023 to March 2024 refunded to my account. This company should be closed as it is a scam and apparently they don't let you cancel their subpar service.

    Used their services in March 2023 - canceled in April 2023 - charged May 22, 2023, canceled May 23 again! Charged June 22 - Contacted my bank and disputed!

    On May 24, 2023 I asked for the name and address of a person via BeenVerified.com for $1.00. I rejected their subscription for $29.99. That same day BackgroundClaim.com in ******** took $68.22 out of my credit union account. This was an unauthorized charge which I am disputing through my credit union. I am seeking a refund and want no further contact with BackgroundClaim.com.

    I got caught into the 7-day free trial scam looking for unclaimed property. Before my 7-day trial ended, I tried to call the number on file *************) to cancel the trial so I wouldnt be charged the whole amount and what sounded like a woman answering the phone to help either was a recording or someone answering then promptly hanging up on me. I tried two more times after that with the same outcome. They took $68.22 out of my account around October 24 and on November 24. I am not using the service and do not wish to be a member any longer, but I cant resolve something the the other party is avoiding. They need to be shut down!

    A few days ago I signed up to do background checks with *******************. there was a trial membership of 5 days for $1. I was immediately charged the $1 and an additional $9.95. I called customer service to find out what was going on and was told that the charge was valid. I then told the customer service rep to cancel my account and he said he had. Then a few days later I get charged $68.22. I called in again and am told that the previous rep did absolutely nothing so my account is still active and the charges are correct. I cancelled the account and told the rep that want a my refund. To which he replied that he could verify that the account was canceled and refund 50% of the charges .I told him that is unacceptable I shouldn't be charged because someone at their company didn't do his job. I asked that this account be closed on the 3rd of August. I shouldn't be responsible for the charges. More so, I verified that it is canceled on the 9th, it states billing on the 8th. At the very least I should be refunded the prorated amount. Seeing as I havent attempted to use it since the first day of the free trial.
