      I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Dover Federal Credit Union. I applied for a credit card with them and was initially approved. However, after approval, they request some documents. I submitted the requested documents, but they took two months to review them and then rejected my application. I am very disappointed with the way this process was handled.

      I understand that credit unions have a right to approve or deny applications. Still, I feel that Dover Federal Credit Union did not handle my application in a fair or transparent manner. I was initially approved. This is very frustrating and has left me with a negative impression of Dover Federal Credit Union.

      I am also disappointed that Dover Federal Credit Union requested so many different documents after they had already approved my application. I submitted my driver's license, proof of income, and proof of address, but they still requested additional documents. This was a very time-consuming and frustrating process.

      Overall, I am very disappointed with Dover Federal Credit Union. I feel that they did not handle my application in a fair or transparent manner. I would not recommend this credit union to anyone.

      On 1/29/2023 i went to the Camden DE location and attempted to deposit $1245.00 in my account to pay the mortgage. The machine spit a couple bills back out and said bills unreadable and then spit a few more out on the GROUND just before the screen went out, the ATM money door started opening and closing then everything shut down. This is a Sunday at 5:00 pm so i didn't know what to do. It spit out $400.00 of my deposit so in short $845.00 was still in the machine along with my debit card when it went defunct. I talked to the atm camera, made a video of the entire thing and called every number i could find with no response. I called the local police department to let them know what happened and said i was afraid to leave the machine unattended and he said i had done about all i could and to call them first thing Monday morning. After 45 minutes total i decided to leave and go home.
      Called first thing (9:00am) Monday 1/30/23 and talked to a lady i believe her name was Sheryl who said the machines are audited once a week so i would have to wait, i told her that was unacceptable and to let me talk to a manager. She transferred me to the Camden DE location to a manager who told me i was out of luck because the ATM machines are owned and maintained by an outside company who was just in the previous week and won't be back for a week or two at which time they will audit the machine to account for the $845.00 and i would have to wait. I explained they had to have a number to call the ATM company for emergency for this was my mortgage money and i cannot wait and she told me there is nothing she can do about it. She explained she would pass my information on to a gentleman higher up named Todd Wilson to get back in touch with me but again stated there is nothing they could do. I was getting very upset for i pride myself on never been late on anything and she stated they are not responsible. No response from the bank as of yet.

      I have maintained an account with DFCU for more than 40 years. I retired in 2017 and returned to Delaware. Since I always had the account, I decided to use it primarily for my Real Estate business. I have several auto payments tied to my work linked to that account. Recently I attempted to use the drive through ATM in Smyrna. When I put my card in, I heard it drop inside the machine. I went inside to retrieve my card and was told that the person who services the ATM neglected to put the box back in place. They knew the ATM was not working, yet no one bothered to put a sign on the machine or close the lane. I was told they could print a new card, but I did not want that because of all the auto payments tied to the acct. I was told I had to wait until the following Thursday when the service person returned. I let them know I would be out of town and really needed access to my card. They said nothing could be done and I would get a call when the card was available. I had to withdraw cash and drive to Dover to deposit it in my Wells Fargo acct so I would have enough money for my work conference. I never received a call about my card and when I went to retrieve the card, I was told they could not go in the vault to retrieve my card due to sort staffing. I spent hours trying to get in touch with someone to no avail. Their website is problematic and the wait times for phone service are awful. I finally got my card 12 days later, but no apology for the frustration and inconvenience. They also refused to give me the first and last name of a supervisor which is always a sign of an organization with numerous complaints. Awful service, no accountability and poor follow up.
