On January 1st of 2025 I proceeded to file what would be my second BOIR through FinCEN as a business owner using the web services/online portal. Upong doing so, I was redirected to the subject's website completing and required fields as done in the year prior with the difference of being charge $349 which I found to be confusing and odd. I did not receive any further confirmations about filing status until January 22nd, to which two emails from email domains of "finches.gov" provided two different submission tracking IDs. One was "successful" the other was "rejected". There was no further exchange with this subject as this is a one time fee paid annually, nor was there any terms and conditions confirming the keeping of my financial information or storing data. I reviewed by statement details today and have noticed that I've been charged an additional fee of $149 (dated 02/13) to the card used by this subject with no further authorization. This led me to further question this matter and realize I was a victim of a cyber crime and fraudulent organization. I have attempted to contact them via their emails provided in the subject details and upon calling the number provided on their site is an automation voice prompt regarding refund requesting process and the call will then proceed to disconnect Additionally, I had discovered that no report was filed supporting my business to which I submitted directly through FinCEN.gov

Complaint Summary: I was misled into paying $349 to BOIR.com under the impression that it was a legitimate government-affiliated service for filing Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) with FinCEN. After payment, I realized that BOIR.com is not associated with FinCEN, and filing directly through the official government website is free. I am requesting a full refund as this company misrepresented its service and led me to believe payment was necessary. Additionally, I want this complaint documented to prevent others from falling victim to similar deceptive practices.

Fincen made it mandatory to file a BOI by January and I was googling where to do that on October 16th. Boir.com came up in the search results and there was no indication that it was a 3rd party charging an exorbitant fee to do so. I was charged $349 through their website and I found out yesterday there was no fee to file the report. I had heard last month that it was being fought in court, so I contacted them and told them I wanted a refund for that reason. They have ignored me and I saw a video on YouTube an hour ago warning that this company is a scam. I did file a complaint with the FTC, but they can't get me my money back.
