1 starThe entire company is a scam. Last year we had them come out quote a new system for an ac since ours was damaged by a wind storm. They ended up telling us our heater also had to be replaced so altogether a $13,000 system. The sales person was in such a rush to get his commission, before verifying we qualified for financing, he scheduled the installation for the following day. We did not qualify for financing because the company that they use is like CareCredit and if you don’t have a credit score of 850+, you will be denied. They start calling and harassing us for the payment and I asked them several times if we could pay them monthly to get it paid off. This was almost a year ago, the system is about a year old now. They were unwilling to work with us at all and at this point we could’ve had a quarter of the whole amount paid. Instead they sold our account to a creditor and put a do not service on our account even though on their end it no longer shows a balance because they sold it which means they got their money in the end. The system will not turn on and it’s barely a year old! Someone was supposed to call me today and not a word! They put it in for an emergency because I have a daughter with epilepsy but they have 12 business hours to get back to me! Screw this joke and scam of a company!Review fromJohn & Donna D

If there was a way to leave less than one star, I would.
The compressor on our 17-year old Carrier HVAC system failed early in June. We called Horizon Services as they bought the company that originally installed the unit, and had just replaced the fan motor on said compressor less than 9-months prior to this service call.
The technician came out and reported that the compressor had failed. He told me they COULD repair it but the costs would be ~$5,000. We spent $2,300 in 09/24 for Horizon to replace the fan motor on the same compressor and decided it was time to replace. (FYI-i looked up cost of the fan motor today and realized I was overcharged to the tune of about $1,500 last year)
The tech arranged the sales call for same day. Pete arrived around 12:30, had me sit through a presentation about how wonderful Horizon was and how no one else trains their personnel like Horizon does (he failed to mention the sales training that is based on up-selling and dishonesty). Checked some things around the house and happily told us that he could get our system installed for just under $40,000 in two days time. The price of the compressor on the proposal was $21,000. (Daikin system) We were shocked at the cost (he blamed Covid in his spiel) We researched 3-ton Daikin compressor cost.. highest we could find was $4,500 (so $21k = a 450% markup from Horizon). When we said no thank you, they miraculously found an out of the box unit that brought the $40k down to $26k. Got three other quotes from very reputable companies, and at the end of the day - entire system is being replaced for $19,700 rather than $40k. I will NEVER deal with Horizon again. Lying, upselling, and basically stealing from customers. don't know how they maintain an A+ rating with all of the complaints I've read, but they're unethical as hell.... it's sad how many people they likely take advantage of. There should be laws against this kind of price gouging and lack of business ethics.Horizon Services

Recently I used the services of Horizon to inspect my A/C and perform preventive maintenance. The technician told me my refrigerant was low (401-A) and he needed to charge the system. I said no and asked for a quote which Horizon did.
I had my private HVAC technician do another inspection. My system is 15 yrs. old but is running well and NO LEAK!! Imagine that?
In conclusion, Horizon Services are rip offs and liars! It makes no sense to contact them, they'll admit nothing wrong.

We have been long term customers of Horizon for many years. Although they did not install our HVAC system, we requested them to be our main maintenance company after just one interaction when the original installing HVAC company could not come to do service. We are annual maintenance contract holders and have never experienced any negative situations with their company or the trained technicians they dispatch. Nothing but high praise for Horizon and their entire staff, from office to field technician.Horizon Services

Had my main water line replaced by Horizon when the old one burst. New line they put in was outside of my wall and looked super ugly. Had to call several times, explaining the issue in explicit detail each time, before finally somebody transferred my call to the correct manager who was able to schedule a problem solver to move the pipe inside of the wall.
Working with the insurance company to help mitigate the water damage in my home, I requested an itemized receipt from Horizon so that way I could file a claim through insurance to have some of the cost of the repairs covered. After several more phone calls spanning almost two weeks, with promises of being reached out to either by phone or e-mail, I was finally told that they do not do itemized receipts and that was simply the end of it. Huge waste of time and lies.
It would not have hurt Horizon in the slightest to have honored my (and the insurance company's) request for an itemized receipt. Upon agreement to have the work done, and before the sales rep even leaves your home, you are signed up for a loan with a third party company. Horizon receives all of their money for the work IMMEDIATELY and then drag their heels to honor their promises after not doing a very good job the first time. They know how much a job costs because they know how much to charge you for the work being done, but they most certainly do not want an itemized list demonstrating how much they overcharge.
Horizon is a greedy company with poor communication skills both between them and their customers, and within their own departments. Not worth the time, frustration, or money.Horizon Services
