      Bought a lift chair from them 18 months ago. It is still under warranty and the motor broke. Have been waiting almost 2 months to get the chair repaired. They have done nothing but make excuses and are very unresponsive. I want the chair repaired or my money back immediately.

      Details of Claim

      In good faith on 2/26/24 I purchased a lift chair ($2,590) from Scooters-4-Less. As this was a special-order I understood it would take addition time to order from the manufacturer. The company attempted delivery two times; first, there was no one available to accept delivery and second, the container was damaged and delivery was rejected.

      A second order was requested by Mr, *******; however, delivery problems persisted with the Trucking Delivery company being blamed for delay. Bottom line, on 4/6/24 I placed a phone call to Mr. *** ******* to cancel the order and requested a refund to my credit card. The response from Mr. ******* was that he was not sure how to issue a credit card credit but would in fact issue me a certified check for the refund. This should have been the first RED FLAG.

      The excuses continued for not issuing my refund for several months, ranging from check was lost, bank account was hacked and funds frozen, etc. To date, 11/4/24 I still have not received by refund despite countless phone calls to the company owner. I am requesting that I immediately be refunded the following:

      $2,590 Original Purchase

      $150 Late Charges (7 months @ $22.00/mo.)

      $2,740.00 total due refund

      I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my elderly, disabled brother, ***** ****** who currently resides in a nursing home in Gainesville FL on Medicaid. On May 1, 2023, I purchased a new Elara Lift Chair for $750.00 from Scooters-4-Rent (see attached paid invoice). I also paid $50.00 to have the chair delivered and set-up in my brother’s new apartment in Newark, Delaware. At the time, my brother was in a Coral Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Wilmington DE, recovering from a serious fall. I worked with Les at Scooters-4-Rent for this purchase. On May 30, 2023, I contacted Les on his cell phone 302-245-3979 to cancel the order and requested the reimbursement check by mailed to my home address in Gainesville FL. In spite of numerous calls and texts to Les and Scooters-4-Rent, I still have not received any reimbursement for the lift chair, as discussed in the attached pdf file.
