The company filed a collection report on my credit report in March 2023. The loan was opened in graduate school and I paid around $120.00 payment on the loan monthly throughout graduate school (2 yrs) and 2 years after completing school I paid large sums of money beyond my monthly payment to Navient. The total loan amount was around 3,000. The interest paid in full back in 2012. The small remaining principal was settled on and paid in 2016, but in 2020 a new interest of 4,000 dollars was added to a zero balanced account and sent to collections apparently. My other Navient loans were consolidated with my federal loans in 2012 and are in good standing. I have a good payment history, and this incorrect debt is dropping my score. They keep saying I owe money, but did not provide a itemized list of how this new interest was calculated.

I filed a complaint with the cfbp today because my BBB complaint #19973192, was closed without going through the proper arbitration steps.Complaint:I filed a complaint against Navient to the BBB for continuously reapplying an old closed account to my credit report almost for over 10 years.Navient sends me a new bullying email using info from my BBB complaint. I emailed the BBB about my concern that Navient was not using the arbitration steps required for this complaint process. The BBB closed my account and listed my failure to respond as the cause.

Navient has reported my student loan account as 90 days past due to the credit bureaus. This is incorrect as ALL student loan payments are paused until June 2023.

I was paying $329.02 per month in 2022. I was downsized Dec. 2022. I called Navient to let them know. I informed them that I was interviewing to get a new job and as soon as I did, I would may Jan. 2023 payment. I held up my end of the deal. They increased my payment to $331 with no reason or warning. So when I paid 2 payments of $329, they billed me for a few dollars. I called them today to let them know, my payment should not have increased and the lady hung up in my face. Then I called back to speak to Aileen, who told me that my payment was $331 because, it was adjusted and increased.
I asked her if she could lower my payment to make it affordable and that $200 is what I could pay. She talked about going to $326 and not $200. I am filing this complaint as this Navient is not willing to work with me in payment plans for Student Loan which has been tripled in balance. When I finished college, I made payments that were never accounted for. The loans were $38,000, but, they have added unknown fees over and over again making it impossible to ever pay off student loan. They will get rude and talk in bad tones when you call to try to resolve however, you will not win.

HiI reject the response to my complaint #19630181 as it is unfair and unjust.  Navient added another amount of $40,000 to the balance of the student loan and this is unacceptable and unfair business dealings.I refuse to do business with this company until further notice and attention is looked into the account that consist fraudulent fees.Sincerely,

I have had an Income based repayment plan with Navient for the past several years. All applications have to be made through the department of educational aid. At the time I logged into the website, I have screenshots where my loans weren’t due for IBR renewal until September 2022. I decided to wait until it was “technically” time for me to renew this plan. Also on their website, no income documentation was required. October 2022, Aidvantage processed my IBR application and advised me they would relay the information to Navient and the Department of Education. After I didn’t hear anything from Navient about my IBR, I called and spoke with a representative and asked about the IBR because Aidvantage processed my application but Navient hadn’t received it. I was advised that I am not eligible for IBR and that I would either have to consolidate or have my loans in forbearance. Neither of which I would do based on the current loan forgiveness in process with the courts. Navient continues to report my account as delinquent with the credit bureaus, although under my loans they show the status as IBR. Navient has ruined my credit and I have been forced into bankruptcy when I have tried so hard to keep all of my bills paid, on time, for the last 3 years. My credit score took a dive. I simply don’t understand why navient wouldn’t process an IBR application for me when I called them, but continue to report my account as delinquent and ruining my credit further, as I completed the household section, I am a single mother of five children and barely make $20k a year, and income was not required in order to process the application. I have included where navient shows me in IBR but also shows me past due. I also included what Navient shows as my repayment option, no IBR offered. I would like my IBR application processed and my credit report to reflect current with no delinquent payments. Thank you.

The payments made each month are not the agreed upon agreements. On top of that I am getting charged late fees when I have automatic payments. They have been dishonest each person you talk to has no clue on how to help you they just keep passing to another person. They withdrew money from my account without my authorization. They don’t show that but my bank statement does. Setup new payment arrangements then once they get your bank account your payment changes and you have no access to stop payment to deal with the issues. Just down right dishonest company no wonder why there is lawsuits against this company. I am fed up with them stealing money from me.

They still have not explained to me why I am being charged late fees when I have automatic payments setup. Also I was never notified of a variable rate this changing my payment each month. I thought anytime there was a change in payment it had to be approved by me. If not this just give the company to charge what ever they want without safe guards in place. They still can’t tell me where the extra money that was withdrawn from my account went when I called and spoke to multiple people. It does not matter anyways I was able to transfer my loan to another party. All the reviews that I have read and the possible litigation against this company are all true and needed.

I think I have just been swindled. I have had a loan delinquent since 1985. Yes, 1985. I have refused to pay this loan for several reasons, all of which have been explained in detail to numerous staff (or so I thought) for almost 10 years, and various owners of this loan for obviously many years prior. Recently I have been inundated with calls from ************ #, they threatened me, harassed me, and then even made a deal with me. I now realize it is not a legitimate deal considering they don't even own my loan anymore. I have not given them any money at this point, nor did I reveal my payment information, I actually do try to avoid serious financial disparities due to scammers. However, they threatened to come after me if I don't pay them in 2 weeks. I have not, nor ever, have I received anything in writing, even though they do have all my correct contact information.
I don't particularly like being threatened, and I don't think they can legally threaten me with financial ruin if I don't pay, but, I am also not comfortable with not knowing what their end goal is. If this is Navient, then I really truly without a doubt need something in writing. Please and thank you.

On 1/1723 at 8:33 am cst I called Navient to get the payoff amounts for my loans which were co signed by my brother. I was verbally given a total of $23,284.51 which would be due by 1/27/23. I was told that was the full amount due and that there would be no further charges, fees and no discounts. That was the amount they needed and the date they needed it by to have the loans paid in full. The representative refused to send me an email confirmation of our conversation. I asked for a letter to be mailed which the rep said they would do. I never received that letter.
On 1/23 I logged into my account and saw the payoff letter, dated 1/20, with the correct amount but with a different due date, now showing 1/29/23.
Navient received and electronically cashed a payoff check in that amount on 1/27/23. USPS tracking number EI488199029US.
On 1/31/23 I logged into my Navient account to find a balance due of $14.62, which still shows as owed to this day. I called Navient twice that day, only to be told this was "interest" and would be removed within 30 days.
On a third third phone call to Navient on 1/31 I was told by the representative that he was "escalating" the "interest issue" to the team that would correct the issue and that he asked them to email me the actions they took. It is 81:15 pm cst on 2/3/23 and I have received no communication and my account still shows $14.61 owed.
I have paid these loans in full per the payoff letters I electronically received and Navient has cashed that payoff check prior to the 1/29/23 date shown in the letter.
I DEMAND that my loans with Navient reflect paid in full IMMEDIATELY and that I be sent a letter showing said loans have been paid in full with my account having a ZERO balance within 7 business days of the date of this complaint (2/3/23).
