My decision is to discontinue any further engagement with this company. My experience has been deeply unsatisfactory due to a lack of transparent communication. The project's timeline was significantly misrepresented, with an initial estimate of weeks turning into months without proper updates or explanations.

Furthermore, I found the customer service, particularly from an individual identifying himself as "the president," to be unacceptable. The threat to leave an uninstalled door at my doorstep was unprofessional and disconcerting. I am requesting that all communication from this company cease immediately.

Despite this negative experience, I have refrained from sharing my concerns publicly, even though friends and family have suggested I do so. I have already contracted with another company to complete the work.

I consider this matter closed, provided that there is no further contact from this company.

    Hello,

We apologize for the delay in your door. The HOA you live in does require a specific color. When you met with our us in July to purchase the door you were not charged for the custom color paint and purchased a white door, which we attempted to paint in the specific HOA approved color. You asked us to paint the door with the color you provided, but it did not look acceptable after doing it was painted. At this point we decided to upgrade your door for free and have the manufacturer paint the door at the factory with the specific HOA approve color, a much more expensive process, but we wanted to give you a product that you would be happy with.  We had a visit scheduled in October to tell you, and it does not look like we told you about the free upgrade you received and the additional wait time for that door to come in, I do apologize that was not communicated. When you spoke with us in January you agreed to wait the additional few weeks for that new door to come in, so we did not tell the manufacturer to halt the door production(message attached). After we continued with the door production you then decided again you want to cancel and messaged you wanted to cancel again in February.

This leaves our company with 2 doors we have made for you. We are asking to be able to install the door we upgraded for free and our company will cover the cost of the original door we painted on your behalf as well as the upgrade for the second door. We will only charge the original purchase price we agreed in July. It says in the notes that you could pay with a check, in which case we will provide an additional discount and you will not have to have your credit checked by the finance company.

    Thank you

The business had an employee call for a survey about an interaction with a salesman and after a review was given and the employee was asked not to call again and also I said have a good night the employee called right back. This is a TCPA violation and the company should be fined for this. This occured today 9/16 at 532 and 534. The person on the phone was rude and unprofessional but more so broke the law.

HomeStar did not advise us to use our homeowner's insurance. Insurance will not pay when it is the contractor's fault. HomeStar just ignored us for 5 months and did not return our calls.  Our heat pump was installed by a PA licensed mechanic in accordance with PA residential code for heating and cooling equipment and the manufacturer's installation specifications. So it was properly installed in the correct location. As per the included photograph, the location of the freon line was obvious. It should be the project manager's job to note anything that could cause a problem in the pre-install inspection. We were told **** would come on April 11, 2024 and do the pre-install inspection. However, *****, an inexperienced, untrained young man came alone. He said he was new and said "The roofers know more than I do". He was polite but had no idea what he was looking for and pronounced us "good to go".On May 1, 2024, ***** again arrived without ****. None of the roofers spoke English and ***** could not and did not communicate with them. ***** was gone most of the day, stopping by occasionally, but was not here for an end of day walk through as was promised. This project was mismanaged and the problem could have been prevented by simply alerting the roofing crew that here was a line in that spot.

The copper pipe that was punctured was not supposed to be in the location that it was in, causing the roofing contractors to puncture the pipe. We have a clause on the back of our contract stating that HomeStar is not liable for such damages. Mr. and Mrs. ***** reviewed and signed this contract (attached). We advised the Homeowner to reach out to their Homeowners insurance, as the pipe was not in the correct location to begin with. HomeStar Remodeling LLC

After a series of setbacks with installing my siding, Homestar eventually did the job. We spent a few months constantly calling and scheduling dates for them to fix their sloppy work. I contacted them again in November 2022 to request that they come out to reattach one of the louver covers from my attic. They've told me at least three times that they will send someone to fix it, but they have done NOTHING!

Homestar Remodeling offered a lifetime warranty on installed windows. A window is leaking and after numerous calls and a “ service ticket” with no response, they are clearly avoiding contact. A recent call started with, “ I’ll call you right back” and continued avoidance. Please help resolve
