      A family member received a threatening email the same email many others have posted on here. I myself have worked in debt collections for 6 yrs now and know the laws on what u can say and what u cant! In no way can any debt collection agency that is legit and licensed threaten to contact your employer, your relatives, garnish your wages, threaten legal action especially warrant for your arrest ex.. we consulted with a attorney and are seeking legal action against this ACS Debt collection agency. Also reported to the Attorney Generals office FDC. Its extremely disturbing to me just knowing all of the horror stories that I hear while Im working from innocent people being threatened by these scam collections agencies, everything we do at our agency is very pleasant and we make sure our clients know this is all voluntary no one will ever threaten, contact ur employer or relatives in any attempt to collect a debt. This ACS COLLECTIONS Needs to be put a stop asap. If any agency ever contacts u with threats or liens or garnishments get there company info and report asap. I hope this helps someone breaks my heart that there are agencies like ACS OPERATING and actually scaring innocent people to pay a debt they dont even owe most likely. Please know ur rights ask them as many questions as u possibly can. Do not ever pay with any gift cards or a pacific form of payment they requested thats a huge red flag.

      Just a few phrases a debt collection agency cannot legally say to u , wage garnishments, proceedings for court, warrant for arrest, contact your employer and threaten your wages or place of employment in anyway, case search as court case, litigations, civil suit, you will be served, they also must provide you by male validation of the debt, if they say they cannot give you their physical location and address or company information they are not legit. They cannot argue with you as well use profanity or raise their voice at you. These are only a few there is pages of terms that cannot be said to you legally these companies need to be reported immediately so they can be shut down.

      Here is just a few legal terms and phrases no collection agency can say to you through a phone call, email, etc. phrases such as legal action, threatening to contact your employer or a wage garnishment, Court Proceedings, litigations, a lien placed against assets, you are being sued, court case, you will be served documents, these are only a few terms that are illegal The list goes on and on. These types of collection agencies need to be shut down and if you have received anything of this sort contact your states attorney generals office and the *** immediately to have them reported.

      Received an email threating to contact my job and share whatever information they have. I have asked them to "Please cease and desist all calls and contact with me immediately" *********** is so rude a d unprofessional. I see why the BBB gave them a rating of F
