Does not honor warranty- purchased and installed a new motor in my Jeep September 23 - has a 3 year ***** mile warranty- engine overheated all new parts from Christian Brothers- comment was it overheated too much to cover warranty

      Business Response

********************** son brought their 2012 ************* into us via tow truck and even the tow truck driver commented on how much mud was all over his tow truck from falling off this customer's Jeep. After diagnosis we found that the engine had overheated and recommended the customer replace the engine. ****************** accepted and paid us to replace the engine. We purchased the engine brand new from a local Jeep dealership and our professional technicians installed the new engine. Fast forward sometime, ********************** most recent visit, The Jeep returns with mud again and a radiator that had exploded or had perhaps been hit from underneath and split into 2 pieces. Of Course the radiator couldn't hold any coolant (radiator fluid) and began to overheat immediately. Our warranty would have covered the engine at this point in time. The Jeeps engine began to climb in temperature from its normal running temp up to 240 degrees at the top end of the gauge. At this point our warranty would still cover the engine, the engine continued to be driven and driven and driven and we know that the engine hit and went over 255 degrees and continued to climb, let me take just a moment to say, THIS was the point the warranty was null and void. There is a Mopar (Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep) bulletin (see attached) stating that the freeze plug temperature sensor turns pink when it has exceeded 255 degrees (beyond the temperature gauge) and that Mopar/Jeep will NOT cover any engine that has exceeded this margin. The Mopar/Jeep technician informed us that the engine had reached a minimum temperature of 265 degrees because the sensor had turned RED in color. Please see Mopar/Jeep Bulletin indicating the different colors and what they signify. Our warranty is designed with fairness in mind for both sides, Our guests/customer and **********************, it does NOT cover misuse, ill-treatment, re-missiveness, or lack of care. We pride ourselves in providing neighborly care of our customers/guests. It is in our very nature and virtues to honor God through excellent automotive service and repair so much that we offered to over labor for ****************** if he is willing to cover the engine purchase. In other words, meeting him halfway. ****************** refused and had the Jeep towed away.

I brought in my wife's 2016 ***** Volt to Christian Brothers Automotive to have the ** inspected, because it was no longer cold **. Most places do not charge for an exam to check freon level. I left my car early in the morning and my wife was called at 4:00 pm to pick up the car. She was told that the Freon level was overcharged, but they lowered it, but they cannot fix the ** repair unless they paid over $4,000 to repair it, and it would cost over $170 just for a ** exam, even though many other mechanic companies charged nothing to exam. And to make it worse, when my wife picked up the ***** Volt and was driving away, she had to pull over the highway because Christian Brothers Automotive did not shut and lock the hood when they opened it. Company doesn't care, so I will never recommend or use Brothers Automotive service again. I would have been better off having the ** inspected by the ***** Dealer.

I brought my car in because the A/C quit working in May, and now in November I still do not have an A/C that works. They just keep wanting more money for things that *** or *** not actually fix the problem. They have even had the audacity to try and charge a second diagnostic fee.

Customer initially brought vehicle to ** in June of 2023 because the ** was not blowing cold. After the Evaporator core was replaced, ** returned to normal operation. Customer brought vehicle back to us last week due to a different ** concern. The current concern now is that the ** randomly blows out of different vents. The ** system is still blowing cold from the initial repair. The current concern is due to an issue with the blend door actuators and does not have any bearing on the previous repairs. We also discounted this Diagnostic to help the guest out since it was something different.

I am rejecting this response because: I originally brought my car in because as I stated the A/C was not working. When I brought my car back in for repairs due to damage sustained during the initial repair, I stated that the A/C was not blowing out of the main vents properly. The guy that was there sat in my car and confirmed what I was describing. When I picked it up I was told that everything was working just fine. It has been an intermittent issue since I first got my car back. I dont drive it often, so I havent had many times to experience it lately. When Im in my car to experience the issue it is normally in the evening or on a weekend when the shop is closed. There was no point in bring in the car again while the issue was not happening. I stopped by on the 12/14/23 because I was finally experiencing the issue while the shop was open. The manager again sat in my car and experienced it first hand, so there is no denying what is happening. However they did not do any further evaluation on the car at that time despite me leaving it with them.  By the time they inspected it the next day, the issue was not currently happening, so they instead wanted me to spend money based on their gut feeling about what was wrong. The A/C has not fully worked properly on a consistent basis since I originally brought it in on 6/2/23. I am now forced to start the process over at the dealership where I should have brought my car in the first place apparently.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Had a check engine light due to fuel/emission system on my Jeep in late 2022. Christian Brothers (CB) installed a new vapor canister in Nov 2022. Check engine light still on. Smoke test and was told I needed a new gas tank. I had to pay in full up front in Dec 2022 for the fuel tank and labor for backordered fuel tank. It's now September 2023. Fuel tanks are still backlogged, that's fine although in full for paying parts and labor up front seems shady. But, the vapor canister literally came loose from it's housing and was dangling from the vapor hose and as a result the vapor hose was destroyed by the drive shaft. The integrity line had come apart and perhaps the orings are there, maybe not. It's within warranty period so I bring it back for hose repair, check the orings on the parts that disconnected and to have the canister installed properly so that it doesn't fall off again. After CB shifted my appointment out a week the Jeep is at the shop 3 days so I've been without a car for almost 2 weeks now. I call for status and they are talking about waiting for a fuel tank. After lots of back and forth explaining for the 3rd time the car is there for a hose and securing the vapor canister and not a fuel tank I ask if the vapor canister has been secured to drive the car until the fuel tank comes in and they answer - yes. At the shop I ask if we can take a look. The employee opens the hood to look, but the vapor canister is in the rear of the car near the fuel tank, major alarm. Under the car, the vapor canister comes right off with a relatively light tap. No work of any kind had been done. After a few minutes of him now explaining why the hose cannot be fixed, I ask if at least they can reinstall the canister properly so I can be sure it won't fall off again. Employee shoves the canister onto 2 of the 3 clips, says it's good enough and tells me to use electrical tape on the hose and bungee cords to secure the vapor canister. I now have little to no trust in CB.
