My 18 year old son purchased a 2013 ******* ****** from Cocoa Ford on May 15, 2025 and we were very excited about his first purchase. Unfortunately, today, May 31, 2025 my son was driving the vehicle and it immediately began to malfunction. The engine began knocking and crackling and he was unable to idle past 30 mph. I had him pull over and we check the oil. There is absolutely no oil in the car I mean bone dry. How is it a car just purchased from Cocoa Ford 16 days ago and it has no oil. The seller stated he personally took the car in and the oil was changed, tires good, and car was fully inspected. If there is 0 oil in the car and you can only drive the car 30 minutes with no oil how did a multi point inspection not identify such an oil leak (if that's the case) or issue with oil retentionsomewhere. As a parent you can understand my immediate frustration. I called the dealership 3 times today with a promise to get a call back in which no one called I actually had to pull up to the dealership to speak with a Sales Manager by the name of *******. He apologized for the inconvenience and **** went straight into defense mode when I expressed my frustration regarding the situation. ******* basically scolded me and made it very clear the car is as is and we obviously drove it and thought it was good enough to buy so its basicallynow our problem. He even stated he could just say there nothing he can do and send us put the door. I continued to express my frustrations as due to there negligence in properly inspecting the vehicle my son almost got into an accident because the car wouldnt idle properly. The Managers empathy was not genuine, he was basically just checking of some steps in a service recovery model thay they seem to have learned learn. He even told me that he doesn't have to do anything basically. After I complained about the disservice he stated he would cover the diagnosis fee and we would be responsible for repairs as it is now our problem basically.Business Response

purchased a used vehicle from Cocoa Ford March 31st 2025. immediately upon leaving the dealership the vehicle began to have issues. fought with a week they finally agreed to fix it. the vehicle stayed in their position until 5/12/2025. they decided to wait for the aftermarket warranty (which was said to be **** and isn't) to kick in for repairs. All repairs were not made that they said would be done. Such as the right side 360 camera due to it being cloudy and the ambient lighting in the cup ********* is now brought to my attention the paperwork has not been finished more then 30 days later as required by the state of Florida and my Temp Tag is now expired as they also did not transfer my tag from the vehicle I traded in.Business Response

They did the transfer on my registration wrong, reversed it and canceled it without telling me and I drove around for 10 months with expired plates. Didn't know until January 2nd 2025 when I got stopped at a check point for drivers license, registration and insurance check. Cops said my tags were expired and my plate had a sticker on it saying expires on 4/26/25. The dealers fault. I was put in back of a cop car, as they called a tow truck. They finally verified after over an hour that it was the dealers fault and not mine. They let me go and then I went in to a bad anxiety attack which is part of my VA Disability.I will be looking for an attorney to file suit soon. I am also contacting the news media and also ******************. I will be writing reviews about this dealership anywhere I possibly can. The General Manager was very rude and didn't care. When I bought the truck they called me a friend of the dealer. Just found out what that meant and informed **** of the untrufulness about it.Customer Answer

My 2018 **** F-150 has had two catalytic converter failures in the last year and half. Current mileage is ******. The first failure was covered under the <80k warranty. They repaired that last January 2023. The second failure just occurred (March 2024) and they are forcing me to pay full price for the R&R, labor and all costs. Unacceptable that two converters would fail back to back in a truck that is just barely over warranty and still under 100k total miles. ******* for the warranty to be honored for the second failure and for **** to cover the costs.Initial Complaint

Never had issues with my truck until I took the truck in for a recall repair on the DEF heater.....while doing the repair they replaced the DEF heater but also damaged another part of the DEF system described to me as the DEF pump. The civerwd the repair under the Ford recall....since the "recall" the truck had broken down twice for DEF System failures which forced the truck into "idle mode". I got it to the dealer the first time, and they supposedly fixed the DEF system malfunction. Then ONE WEEK later it happened again. Driving down the road and it goes into "idle mode" leaving me stranded....I had to get it towed back to the dealer and pay for the tow and a rental because of course they don't offer loaners. Now they have had it 5 days. They called me finally and say it is giving the same error codes as before but now clain it's a new issue. Of course they say one that is not covered. The new part is gonna cost $4200 with over $1000 additional for labor. The catch is the part is on indefinite backorder and they have no clue when it will be available. They advise it could be a week or it could be months to get the parts. OF COURSE , THEY WANT ME TO PAY UP FRONT FOR THE PART with an unknown wait time. In the meantime, I have no vehicle....no offer of loaner....my truck is un-driveable.....and their answer to it all is pay up front and wait indefinitely till the part comes in and pay for the rental as long as it takes. I have already been paying for a rental vehicle for a week.
Oh...and get this....the part that needs replaced is on their recall list for my vehicle, but because my error code is close but off by a couple digits from the recall error code, so they won't cover it under the recall. If they know this DEF System is so bad that they are doing all these recalls on it, and these issue didn't start until they did their "recall" work and the additional part it also being recalled, then they should stand behind their product.
