The agreement and contract I entered into was with *** and HackerU for a 10 month Cybersecurity Program. It was necessary to take a medical leave after completion of approximately 5 months of the program and monthly payments. I had made two payments after attendance had been postponed due to medical reasons. I was promised a refund of my last two payments immediately, since I was to continue to have access to prior classes while on necessary medical leave. 1.) I am extremely disappointed that I was never notified that the association with *** and HackerU was less than 3 years combined. Which does not provide me with any confidence within the program.2.) My contract for my cybersecurity education was between HackerU and *** professional studies 10 month program. That program does not exist anymore, therefore, that contract is void. Each educational system is priced at a different cost. I am being denied the education I agreed to.3.)The offer to receive the *** certificate is not an option because that was not my agreement between *** and HackerU. It would not include the live class sessions, one on one tutoring sessions available, or Career Counseling (which I had requested prior to taking a medical leave and was denied). Therefore, the contract is Void.4.) I do not desire a certificate from a course or class that is not in existence anymore as its lost its credibility to potential employers. The *** & HackerU certificate program lasted less than 4 years, which is not credible. 5.) the choice to attend *** was the most expensive education institution within your system and doesnt exist currently.7.) ThriveDX offers a 6 & 8 month cybersecurity program at this time. The ******************************************************************************************* their association with ***. I was never notified of the changes or offered a discounted cost. The contract is null & void due to this. Statement of payments made is inaccurate. interest considered.Customer Answer

I have not received a response from ThriveDX or any offers for resolution. Their invoice statement was incorrect also. I had paid several thousand dollars more than the educational institution is accounting for prior to my medical leave.

I am rejecting this response because:the company has been extremely slow at resolving this issue. No response or resolution within a responsible timeframe. Communication has been extremely difficult and no resolution has been agreed apron. Unfortunately, I have been reaching out to this company for over a year and this dispute was opened hoping for a simple resolution approximately a month ago. No business would believe that is an efficient timeframe for resolving issues. Until the issue is resolved, it will be necessary for me to reject the response. I would like this resolved asap. I am also paying an additional 29% interest rate on the delayed monies requested without communication or resolution. This is also of great concern of mine and should be the businesses responsibility for not addressing, refunding, or no responsible offer. I appreciate your understanding and professionalism in this matter.
Sincerely,

Following discussions with the individual and a review of documentation provided, we have reimbursed her the full amount for which she has documentation - $4,012.50 - which matches our records as well.
Correspondence with the individual and the ThriveDX employee documenting this is below.
We are working on issuing the refund; because the amount owed is so dated, we are required to send a check.
In light of the above, we would request that this complaint be closed.
Thank you

Subject: Program Refund Resolution
?******,
I believe that I found the majority of the receipts of payment. You might be correct with December and January payments missing. However, this is what I have and since no one that I had worked with before can confirm my payments, then i will accept that I could be mistaken, and I do apologize. I really had thought that I missed no payments but it seems I can not confirm that at this time. I do see the chargeback dispute open now from April, but I do believe that was found in your favor, at the time, so Im still looking into that as well. You probably wouldve received the money back several months after the dispute was opened.
Right now I have the receipts for 2021.
August 9th - $512.50
October 9th - $1750
November 17th - $1750
February 2022 payment - disputed $1757
I believe that was found to be in your favor and the payment was returned to you. I understand its difficult to go thru all of your records and receipts also, it doesnt seem to have been recorded or documented in a simple manner.
If you would consider providing me with a refund for August thru November please then we can just close out this process and I will be willing to accept your findings. I appreciate your assistance and apologize for all of the misunderstandings.
Thank you,

The business promises training and education to eventually land students a job in cyber security. This includes courses, individual help from instructors, a student success manager, career outcomes coaches, and other professional development help through ***********************'s resources. The issue comes with completing the course, as I've finished the courses in the program but have not received any word or response from them. Per my agreement with them I have an obligation to continue submitting payments until my plan is complete. However, the same agreement states after completion of the courses, I have an entire year of access to materials and continued use of the professional development services. After the resolution of my final course, I and many of my fellow students in the cohort lost access to the entire catalog of courses. Those who have already paid in full for the program regained access after reaching out, but the rest and I have not. Many of us have reached out, but to no response.Apart from this issue, many of the promises made by ThriveDX have been unfounded. They sold the program to many of us as a streamlined route into a cybersecurity job, promised personalized support, and industry recognized certifications. The program hasn't placed myself or anyone in my cohort to a job. The personalized support is supposed to come from our student success managers, who we've gone through 8 times more than the expected amount of them, who've not given us any personalized assistance as they couldn't with so much turnover. And the certificate attained through completing the program is not recognized as promised. The ~$17800 program delivers on very few of its agreed upon promises, and does not leave -attending students ready for the current day industry. Additionally, multiple times our classes for the program were without the assigned instructors without backup or a fill in. The program promises industry professionals but provides absent assistants.Business Response

We reviewed this individuals claims in detail.
As background, ThriveDX is an education service provider. We develop advanced cybersecurity curriculum and license that curriculum to leading non-profit universities such as *************************, **************************, and, in this case ***********************.
In addition to developing and licensing content, we provide our university partners with support services to assist them in offering the licensed programs. However, ThriveDX is not a school. Our university partners like *********************** offer the program and students who enroll in a ThriveDX-powered program are, at all times, students of the partner university, subject to University policies including refund policies and the decision whether to award degrees or waive outstanding balances. They are not students of ThriveDX. Policies are shared with students in detail during orientation.
In this case, the Student has incomplete attendance and overdue payments for the *********************** Program. As a result of these deficiencies and overdue/outstanding amounts, per *********************** policy, the Students access to course materials and professional development services was removed. Because he has not completed the Program, he did not receive the Comptia test voucher. However, we have reinstated his course materials access and he has been allowed to complete his program and will receive a certificate from the *********************** upon making up his attendance and complete payment of his account.
The Students allegations in his complaint are false and/or incorrect.
The Student falsely claims that he has not received any word from the Student Support team since completing the program. *********** received messages in September, including his final progress report showing delinquent attendance on September 13 and did not respond to his Student Success Manager's contact. We had late payment outreach in October which he did not respond to. In November, we finally connected with the Student on several occasions and are now working with him to make up the missed attendance.
Over the course of the 10-month Program, the Student has been supported by 3 different Student Success Managers, not 8 as he alleges. The Program does promise a dedicated Student Success Manager, but not the same Student Success Manager for the entire duration of the program. No company can guarantee employee retention.
ThriveDX clearly outlines that it provides job placement support with a dedicated ****** Services team accessible to learners as part of the program offerings. We cannot and do not guarantee job placement and that is repeated to students and prospective students throughout their journey. Nevertheless, we are proud of our strong outcomes and are successful in placing many students who utilize ****** Services. ThriveDX provides training that prepares learners for roles in the respective digital careers with curriculum developed around the most in-demand and sought-after digital jobs. Learners receive training to build a stronger skill set and gain experience applicable to passing the industrys most essential certification exams. Upon graduation from the program, the *********************** issues a certificate of completion to all learners.
Based on the foregoing, we believe that the students complaint is entirely unwarranted and incorrectly directed at ThriveDX.
We respectfully request that this complaint be closed.Initial Complaint

We reviewed this individual's claims and confirmed that they are entirely unfounded.
ThriveDX only contacts prospective students who provide their contact information and express written consent to be contacted by ThriveDX to learn about a university-partner's education programs. ThriveDX does not purchase leads. In this case, the ThriveDX partner is the *********************.
Upon receiving the complaint, we reviewed the ThriveDX contact history across all mediums (email, phone call, and sms text message). Our records (pasted below) indicate that the student was only contacted a handful of times, and more importantly, was last contacted by ThriveDX in 2022.

We reviewed this individuals claims in detail.
As background, ThriveDX is an education service provider. We create advanced cybersecurity curriculum and license that curriculum to leading non-profit universities such as *************************, **************************, and, in this case *****************. In addition we provide support services to students in ThriveDX-powered programs. However, ThriveDX is not a school. Our university partners like ****** offer the program and students who enroll in a ThriveDX-powered program are, at all times, students of the partner university, subject to University policies including refund policies and the decision whether to award degrees or waive outstanding balances. Policies are shared with students in detail during orientation.
In this case, in short, the Student completed the program offered at *****************, refused to pay the full tuition amount, and complained that he had not received his certificate.
In June 2023, ******* was informed that *****************************, the ThriveDX partner university where he was enrolled, waived his balance and will be sending him his certificate of completion via email. ******* will also have access back to his courses until December of this year. ******* was notified of these updates on the phone and expressed his gratitude that ThriveDX was able to resolve his concerns.
Regardless of the accommodations and resolutions made in this case, ThriveDX clearly outlines how its operational model and the relationship between ThriveDX and partner universities across multiple channels, including the ThriveDX website, partner universities program web pages, ThriveDX program orientation content, ThriveDX program introductory course content, ThriveDX program brochure catalogs, and ThriveDX Admissions calls. For example:
ThriveDX website explains that ThriveDX partners with colleges and universities: "We proudly partner with top-tier educational institutions, global enterprises, and government agencies to offer innovative professional development programs and equip the global workforce with the digital skills they need to thrive in life-long, digital technology careers."
On all ThriveDX calls with prospective students, the ThriveDX representative states: "Hello, this is (Name) an admissions advisor with ThriveDX calling on behalf of our academic partner, **************************************** program web pages and brochure catalogs also include language that outlines the relationship between ThriveDX and the University: Our accelerated program is powered by our partner, ThriveDX, which helps to reskill and upskill individuals and prepare them for todays fast-growing digital economy. With over a decade of experience as the worlds premier digital skills education provider, ThriveDX works with top-tier academic institutions, government organizations, and global enterprises to offer advanced workforce and professional development programs in digital technology.
In addition to the points outlined above, ThriveDX maintained regular interaction with this individual to facilitate their request to resolve this matter, including interactions on the following dates: interactions on: 5/2/2023, 5/15/2023, 5/18/2023, 6/1/2023, 6/5/2023, 6/6/2023, 6/8/2023, 6/12/2023,6/13/2023, 6/16/2023, 6/21/2023, 6/22/2023, 7/11/2023, 7/17/2023, 7/31/2023. We would be happy to provide more detail if necessary.
Based on the foregoing, we believe that the students complaint is entirely unwarranted and incorrectly directed at ThriveDX. Our university partner, ******, was responsible for decisions regarding awarding and had authority to make waive the students balance. Regardless, the record shows that ThriveDX was responsive to this individual throughout and helped facilitate a resolution that addresses this complaint in full.
We respectfully request that this complaint be closed.Initial Complaint

on March 30th I purchased a plan to take classes from this company sadly before classes started I had to handle work related issue that took me away from being able to start classes I requested a refund before I started classes (June 14th) this was allowed in their contract that I could get a full refund of $184 as long and I requested it before class started I never got a refund or a reply from the company so I took it to my bank to request it from them and they said that I had to get it resolved with the original company because they declined my bank for the refund so in December 12th I got in touch with the "councilor" that was assigned to me we had back and forth where I had to prove that I requested a refund before the date she said that everything checked out and told me to wait 30 days for the refund on the 30th day I had no refund and asked where it might be and she said to wait 15 more days on the 45th day I requested info on the refund and she said that their finance department refunded the money to my bank when it was disputed I got proof that the dispute was not resolved from my bank and that they got $0 from the company so I sent proof to the Thrivedx and they ignored my messages at this point I think there is a part in the contract that says after 365 days I cant get my refund and I'm pretty confident they are trying to extend this to that time so they wont need to refund me.Business Response

The individual received their full refund as requested on June 23. We have included an attachment from the HackerU PayConex (our payment processing platform) screen showing the refund was processed.
The delay in refund was based on an error with his credit card information on file. We contact the student to clarify the error and the payment was approved that day.
Please let me know if you require additional information. We believe this request has been resolved and respectfully request that this complaint be closed.

My son signed up for a "live and in person" Cybersecurity program through *************************. The program is ran by ThriveDX. After learning the program was a bait and switch, my son emailed them to let them know he was dropping out of the program. He never received a response from ThriveDX. We have been charged $1,485.00 on 10/18/22 and $1,483.18 on 12/2/2022 to our card for a total charge of $2968.18. We have communicated our discontent with how this has been handled and asked for a refund. They are saying we still owe $14,000+, which we never agreed to pay. Please help us get our money back from this unscrupulous company. More importantly, please be sure they are unable to take advantage of anyone else.Business Response

We have investigated this individual's complaint in detail and disagree strongly with her characterization of the program.
ThriveDX clearly outlines how its operational model and the relationship between ThriveDX and partner universities across multiple channels, including the ThriveDX website, partner universities program web pages, ThriveDX program orientation content, ThriveDX program introductory course content, ThriveDX program brochure catalogs, and ThriveDX Admissions calls.
For example: ThriveDX website explains that ThriveDX partners with colleges and universities: "We proudly partner with top-tier educational institutions, global enterprises, and government agencies to offer innovative professional development programs and equip the global workforce with the digital skills they need to thrive in life-long, digital technology careers."
On all ThriveDX calls with prospective students, the ThriveDX representative states: "Hello, this is (Name) an admissions advisor with ThriveDX calling on behalf of our academic partner, *********************************************** program web pages and brochure catalogs also include language that outlines the relationship between ThriveDX and the University: Our accelerated program is powered by our partner, ThriveDX, which helps to reskill and upskill individuals and prepare them for todays fast-growing digital economy. With over a decade of experience as the worlds premier digital skills education provider, ThriveDX works with top-tier academic institutions, government organizations, and global enterprises to offer advanced workforce and professional development programs in digital technology.
In addition, there are literally dozens of interactions with the student before enrollment is finalized, including detailed discussions about how the student plans to cover the cost of the program (students even have several payment options - loans, 10-month payment plans, upfront payment) so the claim that the student never agreed or understood that the full tuition was $14,000 stretches credulity. He literally would not have been able to enroll without those discussions and signing acknowledgement of these terms in the registration statement.
Regardless, this student petitioned for a refund under the applicable ********************* policies and a full refund was granted. Our records show that the student, ***********************, received his refund check February 2, 2023.
As such, we request that this complaint be considered resolved.
Thank you

We don't agree with this student's characterization of the collaboration between ThriveDX and **********.
The Program is offered by ********** and ********** retains responsibility for all academic aspects of the program - ThriveDX helps deliver the program and provide student support.
The student reached out to his student success manager to request a refund after becoming upset that the program he was enrolled in is powered by ThriveDX. Within days of his conversation with his Student Success Manager, his withdrawal request was processed. The student also received and confirmed receipt of a refund. ThriveDX partners with universities to power bootcamps which is included on landing pages and reflected in trainings and call scripts for student-facing teams. While the student is upset about that arrangement between ThriveDX and our partners, it is an open fact that we do not attempt to hide or are ashamed of and a *************** practice.
Because this student was allowed to withdraw without penalty, we ask that this complaint be closed.

I am demanding that ******** pay for the time I spent going through their unethical interview process. I spent over 12 hours in the past month working on a presentation & taking tests as I was applying for a senior cybersecurity instructor position. Out of nowhere the company changed the role I was applying for & thought I would be ok with it. I still can't believe someone thought this would be ok. I have file several *********** plan to speak to my lawyer to see any other recourse I can take. Companies with such an unethical recruitment process shouldn't be allowed to exist. My original position would have included 24 hours of work a week at a pay rate of $3900. This is equivalent to $162.50 an hour. Since ******** thinks it is funny to waste my time I am demanding I be reimbursed for my own lost time. The sum I am seeking is a total of $1,950. Failure to pay will result in a letter from my attorney and possible court litigation costs.Business Response

I took a 9 month ***************** course through HackerU costing me over $15K. The course outline looked great but they definitely failed with what they taught taught in class.
