I was involved in a three car accident in October of 2024 in which I ran into a car after they hauled there breaks suddenly on me causing me to slam into the back of one vehicle. I was sent to the hospital for neck, wrist and back injury. My insurance company at the time was Ocean Harbour, and it took them over two weeks to get in contact with me about the accident. I received no call, only emails with papers to sign with no explanation as to what they were for. When I tried to contact the company I would receive no response, just continuous holding on the phone for over a hour or more. Weeks after the papers were signed I receive a email from the broker I used to attain the policy stating that an adjuster would be coming to view the damages to my car. That also took another week for that to occur. They finally gave me a response after another week stating the car was totaled and what amount I was to be paid for it. Nearly three weeks went by with no communication as to why I didnt receive the money. Thats when I found out that because they didnt explain the paper work to me and that I had to pay a fee to one of the person involved in the accident my license was suspended. They also refused to pay me the money for my damaged car when they had all of the paperwork, possesion of my damaged car and things they needed. I had to contact the state and file a complaint just so they would comply with my policy I had with them. Fast Forward to this week I received another letter from another one of the persons involved in the accident stating they have been trying to contact my insurance company for the pas several weeks for compensation on there damaged vehicle and cannot reach them. The letter states that they will take legal action against me personally for the amount of over $12,000 and suspension of my license. I was not aware of this and I have tried to reach Ocean Harbour to get the matter resolved but they dont respond to me either.

Aug 29, 24 I was rear ended by ******** ***** ******* in broad daylight on dry pavement. She is insured by Ocean Harbor Casualty. It was not until mid January 2025 that I got my car back from the body shop. I paid for a rental out of pocket. As I was told that I would be reimbursed for the rental. I submitted receipts to Ocean Harbor on Jan. *****. To date I am still waiting for any kind of response from Ocean Harbor.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/16/2025

Dear ******************* have responded to this consumer twice within the last 30 days through the Department of ******************* on 3/26/25 and on 4/4/25. Below is what the consumer has been advised:

      03/26/25:
The rental reimbursement was paid directly to her carrier, The Hartford Insurance. A release form was signed by The Hartford Insurance, confirming the settlement of this claim in full.

      4/4/25:
The Hartford covered 12 days of rental expenses related to this incident. However, as previously stated, our rental reimbursement policy only covers the labor time required for repairs. Accordingly, we reimbursed The Hartford directly for 5 days. This reimbursement was provided based on the signed full and final release, concluding this claim.

The repairs were paid for by Ocean Harbor and made directly to the consumer. However, the rental charges associated with her policy were covered under her own policy by The Hartford. We cannot provide duplicate rental coverage for the same incident. The consumer should have been notified by her carrier of their intention to subrogate the rental expense for this loss. At that point, she should have understood that she would not be eligible for rental reimbursement, as the payment was made directly to The Hartford.

      Thank you

I am currently insured with Ocean Harbor for my vehicle. On a recent occasion, my significant otherwho is listed as an excluded driver on my policywas given permission by me to use my vehicle briefly to go to the store. Unfortunately, during that time, an accident occurred. I promptly contacted the insurance company and was informed that the claim would not be covered, including rental reimbursement, as the driver was not covered under my policy. While I was initially unaware that the policy coverage follows the driver and not the vehicle, I accepted responsibility and covered the cost of repairs personally. However, on Saturday, April 12, I received a notification that a payment of $460.26 was debited from my accountdespite my regular monthly premium being $225.80. As the offices were closed at the time, I was unable to speak with a representative immediately.Upon contacting your office on Monday, April 14, I was informed that the increased charge was due to my significant other being added to my policy. I want to be very clear: I did not authorize this change in any capacityverbally or in writing. I did not give permission, nor did I sign any document allowing for another driver to be added to my policy.Additionally, when I previously spoke with a representative, I specifically stated that my significant other should not be driving my vehicle and should remain excluded from the policy. I believe this call should be on record and can confirm that no authorization was given to alter my policy in this ********* this time, I am requesting the following:Immediate removal of the unauthorized driver from my policy.A refund of the excess payment charged ($234.46).This situation is both frustrating and concerning, and I hope it can be resolved quickly and professionally. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response.

On January 30, 2025 I had a car accident. The at fault driver has Equity Insurance. This "company", Pearl Holding, decided that my car is total loss, they would keep it and pay me $250; even though I left the scene driving and I'm still using the car EVERY DAY. They just don't want to pay for the repairs. SCAMMERS! FRAUD!

Insurance company incorrectly estimated the parts and costs needed to repair my car. Attached supplemental adjustment form was sent to the insurance company twice, and there is no response. The insurance company did send me a check 10 days ago for the initial incorrect amount that was not cashed, and no acceptance forms were signed because the amount is incorrect. The accident happened on February 5 and today March ************************************************************************************************ telephone calls neither to me, not to the collision repair shop. I am filing this formal complaint against Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance Company also known as Pearl Holding Group, Inc. for engaging in fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices during the process of handling of my auto insurance claim.
