Received notice today from my bank that $200+ dollars had been removed from my account. Upon investigating, determined it was home title lock. It would be nice if they sent out an email beforehand, stating a withdrawal payment would soon be due. Advance notice please or am cancelling my account.

    Hi ****!

Although our membership autorenewal policy is stated during sign-up as well as in all HTL emails, I completely understand your concern. Although most subscriptions plans (IE internet or phone services, video streaming services, etc.) don't send reminders prior to every renewal, only charge receipts, I absolutely see the benefit of a reminder email that goes out to our 1-year or 4-year subscription members due to the amount of time in between renewals!

I've discussed this with our development team and we've prioritized adding an option for our long-term subscription members to receive reminders for upcoming auto renewals.

Thank you for your feedback, as this is one of the best ways to make our system better for our Customers! If you ever have any other questions, concerns, or feedback, please feel free to call us at **************.

Have a lovely rest of your week!

On 12/11/23 I called Home Title Lock and asked them to cancel my annual subscription. Their rep told me that it would take up to 24 hours before I would receive an email that would confirm that the subscription was cancelled and within 14 days I would receive a prorata refund check. When I had not received an email or a prorata refund I called back on 12/26/23 and asked that they check to be sure I was cancelled on 12/11/23. She said I was cancelled and within 72 hours I would hear from them and get a check for the prorata refund, ************ advertises on their website that they are A+ accredited with the Better Business Bureau. I could not find them listed on the BBB web site in order to file a complaint. You can read many other bad reviews on the BBB web site and you can make up your own mind as to whether this company is a scam or not.

    Hello ****,

Many thanks for speaking with me today.  As discussed, since you filed the dispute with your bank, we were not able to issue the refund straight away as it takes up to 30 days for the dispute to settle.  I can confirm the refund has been issued today and appreciate your patience and for discussing this matter.

    Best,

Home Title Lock is a scam, please be aware and stay clear. I called to cancel the service as they charged my credit card that had already expired. The person in customer service said that they cancelled my account and a credit would be issued to my credit card on file, they did not credit my credit card as promised so I reached out to the credit card company and they issued me a temporary credit. My credit card company came back to me and said the following "As per your CM Agreement and/or merchant policies, we are unable to investigate this charge. Please contact the merchant directly." I have contacted this company twice now and they claim that they have cancelled my account and they are charging me. Stay away from Home Title Lock, it's a ********** business.

I bought a new home earlier this year. I travel a lot and decided to try out Home Title Lock. My home is new and they alerted me that my home still showed in the previous owners name. I thought they were wrong, but I checked the county myself and they were correct. Guess the County is backed here hahaha. I received another alert when the title was transferred to my name a few weeks later. Definitely happy with this service and their customer service has been 5 star for sure!

I signed up with Home Title Lock after receiving some suspicious mail regarding my home. I called in to sign up and spoke with someone in their ******* office who was super helpful. I was kinda on the fence about subscribing, but after hearing about house stealing I felt it was better to sign up and try it out for a year in order to keep my house safe. I received what they call my free title scan and everything looked correct. So far so good.

Update on how unnecessary this expensive service is. BBB website says company is NOT accredited, despite the companys claim it is. Then HTL than puts a AAA+ next to that claim. I just got my property tax bill, unfortunately in **********. The individual counties in CA are now offering FOR FREE all the information HTL claims to provide. Probably in your state too. Ive been a *********** Broker for 44 years, have never heard of a client, friend, or neighbor suffering this type of loss. I just hate to see people paying for services that are easily obtained for free. Good luck all.

From **** to 2010 I was a mortgage broker and a partner in a title co. My home is paid for.I wish a lender would file a fraudulent lien on my home. Any attorney would love to handle that case. There was 1 case I knew of in ********* . **** The compmany was Transamerica Home was worth $125k no liens .The thief had a dead mans Dr *** and the deceased had perfect credit.Thief forged a deed .Showing the deceased paid $95000 cash for the home. Trans did a title check but no apprasil because the loan was only $15000.The real owner got a welcome letter and payment coupons in the mail to the correct address but in the dead mans name!! ***** was the deceased brother.Transamerica immediately released **** and settled with the owner $20k to keep it out of court.

Seemed like a reasonable service on my elderly mom's home. I canceled it after the home was sold several months ago. I discovered another payment left my account yesterday. I call in and they can't find my account and "their system is undergoing an upgrade. They will look into it next week". There was no supervisor to talk with either...

I was considering Home Title Lock after paying off our home. I went to the Register of Deeds to get a certified copy of our deed and was asked some questions. I was astonished to hear straight from the clerk that a homeowner had Home Title Lock but it took them 3 months after their title was fraudulently transferred before Home Title Lock notified the homeowner. I said "3 months"? And the clerk replied "Yep"! My county offers a service that informs you within days of a deed inquiry if you sign up. I immediately signed up.
