      I was a student at Daytona state college in 2017-2018. I graduated with a practical nursing certificate in August of 2018. Months later, I got a letter from a collections agency stating that DSC had sent the balance of my student account to them to be collected. Never once did I get a bill from DSC saying that I owed them money. So, I sent a dispute letter to the collections agency and attempted to contact DSC. I never heard back from either company, so I assumed my dispute was sufficient.
      After recently applying to a different college to continue my education, I attempted to get my transcript from Daytona State, but was not able to because of this collections account. They would not budge on helping me clear the debt, which was because I had been considered an out of state student (I wasn’t, and had no knowledge of being out of state). I offered to provide proof of residency for that time period. I contacted the collections agency on 4/19, and they are also trying to contact the college.

      I just wanted to let you know that Daytona State called me today and told me that they looked into my account and they found a mistake. Everything has been resolved.
