I contracted the company to install a window and two doors. Finally, after being ghosted for several months, they came to install the window and doors and completed the job in January 2025. The city inspector came out to inspect the job and failed the installation because the right paperwork was not submitted for the items they installed. The company representative, who was onsite with the inspector was told specifically what he needed to bring and a few days later returned with the inspector and did not have the correct documents. The inspector partially approved the permits and told the company representative what they needed to submit to the city in order to close and approve the permits. This was on 1/30/25 and since then no resolution has been made. The city inspector tried to reach out to the company to resolve this and got no answer. I have called multiple time getting a voicemail box to someone or a call center operator, who takes down my information. I even have the number for the person handling the companies permits and all I ever get is a voicemail box that I leave a message on and never get called back. The one time, I was able to finally speak to someone named ****, who said they were going to resolve the issue got nowhere and now nearly 3 months have passed and no callbacks, feedback on the status, or even attempt to submit the required documents to the city has occurred. I am paying for the window and door, but believe the company is in breach of contract, since they did not pass inspection. They have the worst horrible service, and I don't know how they have an A + rating when there are so many complaints on ****** and other sites. Never ever will I work with them.Business Response

Our Customer Relationship Manager spoke with the customer and provided the time frame for the permit.
At this time, we are waiting on the permit to be processed through the city.
The manager provided the customer with their direct phone number and advised that they would follow up with them by the end of next week to provide an update.

I paid this company to replace my ordinary windows with impact windows. They contracted to attain all permits, replace the windows, get the permits inspected and approved and then finish the installation by sealing the inside.. all of this.. Four plus years ago.. and today they are still not completed. The inspections have not been done, the window installations are not complete on the inside. They give me the run-around when I talk to them. Theyve made zero effort to complete the job and DEMANDED all money up front. Now Im trying to sell my house and Im running into the problem of un-approved windows.Business Response

The job was completed in its entirety as contracted on 12/2/2020. Our local management team has been in contact with the customer as of 2/24/2025 and is working to have a final inspection scheduled with a third party as the customer has moved out of state.Business Response

This is not the first time *** complained about this company. The last time I complained they opened a new permit and sent someone out to the house. They told me that all that was needed was to send the engineering drawings to the city to get the permit approved and closed. Then as soon as I responded to the BBB on their response, as youre asking me to do now, everything halted. Im hopeful but not foolish. I believe that asking a consumer to give approval of a companys response before the issue has been resolved is unfair. A company can perform a couple of empty gestures long enough to get a customer to say theyre satisfied and then cease all actions. What youre doing doesnt help consumers.Customer Answer

One of the sliding doors, that has been installed for some time, has stopped locking. I contacted Storm Tight directly on 01/28/25 to request someone to fix it. They stated someone would contact me which no one did. I called the next day, and they stated that there were no notes stating that the call had occurred or that someone was contacted. Leaf Home contacted me and then a manager ***** from Storm Tight contacted me on the 30th. *** stated someone would go and fix the door on the 4th at 9:30am. The day and time came however, no one contacted me. I had to call *** who apologized as there was a priority inspection. It was rescheduled for the next day at the same time. The day and time came however, no one arrived. I called and texted *** and he did not respond. I contacted Leaf Home to explain the situation. They stated they would send another message and had to allow for 72 hours. Friday the 7th of February, I contacted them again that no one has contacted me. They said they would send a message to the service department. I explained that a similar situation has occurred in the past and asked what I am to do in order to avoid this situation from being extended. They said that all they can do is to keep sending messages.Business Response

On May ******* we signed with Storm Tight Windows to replace all windows and doors in our home. We gave them a deposit of $4000 and signed to finance the remaining $31,000. We were told 8-12 weeks to install. They finally came out September 19th to install. They installed all windows and finished the outside but could not finish the inside as they said the work had to be inspected before they could complete the inside. At that time they did not have the sliding glass doors as they stated they came in broken and would take an additional 4 weeks to arrive. In addition to this, the two entry doors were ordered with the wrong swing so could not be used and they had to reorder those as well. They also had to reorder the front windows and the master bath window as the ones brought did not have the grates in them. We were then told 6 weeks. It has been well over 6 weeks and we have had no communication from them. They will not return any calls. The finance company calls us weekly wanting to know if the job is complete so they can issue payment and we keep telling them No. this has been a frustrating issue and we still have stickers and wrap on all windows as they still have not completed this job. Still no doors and again they will not call us back. The total cost of this job is approximately $35,000.Business Response

We paid this business to install storm tight windows and doors on our home with the promise of a "true lifetime warranty". The nature of this dispute is that for months we have attempted to contact the business about a malfunctioning door lock which they have promised to fix after a poor installation. The door no longer operates effectively, locking us outside and inside of our home. What started as an inconvenience has progressed into a safety hazard. In the case of a fire, medical emergency or natural disaster our family members and emergency responders would not be able to effectively enter or exit the home, endangering our lives. The company is not taking the issue seriously or attempting in good faith to resolve the matter.Business Response

Windows purchased and installed in 2018. ******** warranty for the original purchaser, transferable. I, the original purchaser and still owner, call for warranty service for broken and fracturing plastic window returns preventing the windows from being able to be opened. I am advised that Stormtight became a subsidiary of Leaf Home in 2020 and did not transfer the warranties, so now Stormtight, which is still operating and still offering the same warranty, believes it unilaterally voided the warranty. The current website and warranty guarantees claim to be providing warranties. This is demonstrably false if they can remain in business with no presentable changes as part of a merger/acquisition, continue to provide the same services in the same area and same branding, and void all warranties on their failing products. I would like the warranty reinstated, just like they continue to offer. I would like the existing failing windows repaired under the as-contracted lifetime warranty service agreement. Otherwise, I would expect the entity continuing to present itself as Stormtight to be pursued for falsely advertising both previously and ongoing that their products are covered by any effective warranty.Business Response
