I had purchased a 4 day 3 night trip to the pocanos for $99 and was told I had up to a year to choose the dates I would like to use I just called to secure the dates and your customer service rep ******** told me now after you took my money that I dont meet all the requirements that no one asked me when I purchased the trip and says it is to late now to get a refund and is trying to push me off to your affiliate company he said which I just looked up and is a scam so what is going to be done to give me a refund or my trip .Business Response

Please be advised that Take a Break Travel sells discounted vacation packages which requires clients to attend a sales presentation on the benefits of discounted travel. As such client must meet all eligibility requirements as outlined in the terms and conditions. Upon purchase you were sent a welcome email as well as a text message to the contact information you provided at the time of purchase which includes this information. Please use the link provided to you on 01/26/2023. **********************************************************************************************************; Upon review of your account we can confirm that you verified this information at the time of purchase. In addition, our records also indicate that your first communication with our team to book your reservation was on 3/1/23. At that time this information was reverified and you indicated that did not meet the minimum income requirement to utilize this vacation. Our agent ******** did however provide you a courtesy upgrade to our Go Any Package which you accepted. The original Poconos offer provided you with 3 nights accommodations, with a resort credit and requires clients to attend a sales presentation lasting up to 120 mins. Your new offer allows up to 5 night accommodations without additional charge and provides a $100.00 **** gift card as well as removes the sales presentation along with the eligibility requirements as noted above. Although clients are only entitled to a refund within 30 days of purchase, we have provided you a full refund back to the original credit card used to the purchase. I purchased a vacation package in April 2021 for 4days/3 nights at ********* in *********. The package was supposed to come with 2 tickets to Celestia and a $250.00 resort credit. Every time that I call, they say that there are no dates available or hang up on me. I find it hard to believe this excuse after calling for almost 2 years. They did, however, offer to put me in a non-casino hotel ************* and give me a $100.00 gift card in lieu of the resort credit and show tickets. This is not what I purchased. When I asked for a refund, I was told that I was outside their return policy. I am only outside the return window because they keep telling me to check back for dates.Business Response

On Feb 5, I used this company to make a reservation at a resort in the Poconos, Mountain Villa Resort Package that was advertised on ********* 3 nights, 4 days vacation for an initial charge of 99$. I received a text message a few days later stating that the resort is overbooked and that my reservation was cancelled. I called thier number and they are refusing to refund my credit card the 99$ that they charged. The company -Take a Break, Travel is insisting that I have to answer a long list of very personal questions, including my employment, income, spouse's name, birthday, social security number etc.. I am just trying to contact them legally to get my refund. They do not have any legal right to ask for all of my personal identity information in order to refund a credit card that they had no intention of making a reservation. Once the purchase is complete, clients are sent a Welcome email and a text including the link to your purchase as well as a copy of the terms and conditions you accepted. Please note that Take a Break Travel offers discounted vacation packages requiring clients to attend a sales presentation on the benefits of discounted travel and as such clients must meet the eligibility requirements of this presentation.You may use the link provided and select Terms and conditions which outlines ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible to participate in this promotional offer, adult couples or singles must meet the following qualifications: be employed full time with a minimum, annual gross household income of $50,000 or retired, carry an active major credit, or debit card and speak English fluently. Additionally, if married or cohabiting, one traveler must be at least 28 years of age must travel and attend the entire presentation together. Cohabiting couples must have matching identification with the same address. Single men and single women must be at least 30 years of age and meet the qualifications listed above. So the AD says ******* for a family for $99, mentions inclusive food, etc - doesn't mention name of hotel or location or anything else. I bought it. Now as I called to process and book the days, asked them to connect me to the hotel as I have a baby and want to ask if they provide a crib, location, etc. They did.Turns out the location is somewhere in the middle of the sticks, no near by hospital or anything, activities is for adults, nothing for family with a baby. So it's not baby friendly. Called to cancel, they are like no. So ill report them to CFPB. As you will see using the link provided, the advertisement states 2 adults. In addition, this welcome letter also includes the terms and conditions outlining the vacation package in full detail. Regarding this complaint in which ****************** alleges Take A Break Travel has initiated fraudulent charges to her credit card at about $7,000.00, the Guest's supporting documents do not reflect any such activity. The attached documents from ****************** reflect her credit card account with a $0 balance. I addition, the statements reflect 2 charges: $44.23 to Crafty Crab of *********** and $64.05 to Party *************. Neither of these charges are related to Take A Break Travel. On 6.15.22 ****************** did purchase a 3/2 Vacation package from Take A Break Travel in *********, **. Our records indicate ****************** has contacted our ***************** on 9.22.22 to discuss this purchased package. At this time, we have not been provided any substantial documentation supporting Ms. ******** allegations and as such, we are unable to address this complaint. My husband purchased this vacation as a surprise for our anniversary he passed away unfortunately so I called to get all the information and to finish out the booking and pay the remaining balance of $108.The lady I spoke with said I needed to send in a death certificate of marriage certificate so I did and she told me that *********** we would not be able to receive because of covid. I am sure that is why my husband purchased this vacation was because of *********** I would like a full refund due to the fact that it is not what they advertise or had told him I have all the paperwork and documents. Booked a cruise package during pre-pandemic, received confirmation email December 19, 2019. Pandemic hit and company allowed extending time to use package. Contacted the company in Dec 2021 and was told package has changed. Received email confirmation on 6 Dec 2021 stating. " 2 packages, you can choose to do one or both with: 3/2 nights in ******* and 3/2 for *************** and one package has a 2 days Cruise.". I was not told of any expiration date. Just called them today 27 Sept 2022 and where they confirmed my email address and phone numbers. They then told me my package expired 5 Sept 2022. I told them I never received an email, text, or phone call notifying me of the expiration date. At that point the person said he would check into this and then the phone went dead. I called back two more times and as soon as I told them my name or phone number the phone went dead. So I am guessing they do not want to deal with this and I just lost my $2000+ package, almost, or is, criminal.Business Response

Please be advised that Take a Break Travel is the fulfillment company for a portion of GCCs vacation packages. To assist clients with cruise packages cancelled due to the CDCs guidelines related to the pandemic, TAB offered clients the option to exchange the cruise portion of their package for addition nights added to the land portion of their trip. Clients were sent emails outlining the offer which included an extension of their original expiration date for their vacation approved by GCC. I booked a vacation with them to the Poconos and we got there the fridge was broke..the ac was broke ...we couldn't use the activity 200 cause every thing was closes those days....we had all these additional fees .also our kids were harassed by security and we filled out a form and was told they would get back to us.our **** was ruined. Good day, I booked and paid the $99 + the refundable $49 in July to visit the Poconos for August *****. I have NOT received any itinerary or confirmation or cancelation email or text and I'm supposed to leave tomorrow. When I called during the week and was told I was confirmed and should expect my final confirmation at least 72 hrs before the trip. I still have NOT received any communication from the company at all. NOT A TEXT OR EMAIL!! Unfortunately I paid to go to the Poconos Mountain Resort and I don't have a room reservation a time of arrival a time to go to the presentation... NOTHING! This is so disappointing, this was a birthday trip I was really looking forward to going on this trip. I'm so disappointed. I hope I am able to get a full refund for this.
