We initially reached out to Royal Palm, a referral from our neighbor, to have them design and remodel our kitchen and three bathrooms. After speaking with the owner, Bonnie, she referred to us to one of her "top" designers: Melissa. Months passed, a few emails, some very poor 2D designs and finally after a visit to their show room we became really concern about Palm's ability to deliver anything. After a good deal of family discussion we decided to give them the relatively small project of enclosing our living room and converting it to a "transition room - office". That was in January of 2024. We signed a contract for $16K. It was at the high end of what we thought the work entailed. In short, we wanted to see the quality of their work; the pace of their work and their communication process. The project was to be completed in 6 to 8 weeks. We are SO thankful we made the decision to try before we committed to our bigger projects! Months later, missed appointments later, contractors late, materials not ordered, no communications from our designer Melissa/project manager to the contractors, work not getting done, work not getting done and more work not getting done the project was sort of finished a couple of weeks ago (5 months late and $7K over budget). We literally had to beg them to finish the job....emails, phone calls etc etc. To this date, one wall is still completely unfinished and another wall is crudely finished. Adding insult to injury, Melissa, our "designer" sent us, with no discussion, a $7K change order and final billing (now a $23K project). In short, I wouldn't hire this company to change a light bulb. I'm honestly shocked that they are still in business. However, I now see how they have managed: They essentially sign contracts, take the money, stretch some work out for months and then send surprise change orders/bills at the end of the project or when you've finally said you've had enough. NOPE - do not hire Palm. You will regret it!

    ***********,

I am happy to repsond to your review and infactly say your are not correct. Royal Palm has been in business for 19 years here in SWFL. We do not advertise on tv or in magazines.  We are still in businness because we are repeatly refered to new clients and we are called back to work for previos clients for aditional projects. After the huricane we were called back from so many clients who needed us to help rebuild.  We were so proud to do so.   Because Mr. ****** we do good work and we care about our cleints.  Your project  changed during the job, materials were not selected timely and/or changed during the project.  You were to do the painting then you wanted us to do the painting.  Lay outs were changed , custom closets were added this is why there was a change order.  Not because we needed or wanted to take advantage of you or over charge you.  You have been entirely out of line when it comes to Melissa.  You have stalked Melissa on facebook and have sent her distrubing text messages and phone messages.  She was concerned and uncomfortable by your actions.  We have turned your file over to our Attorney in order to handle this properly.  You were advised to stop threating and spreading lies, but here we are. I do not know what it is that you are attmeping to do as it comes to Melissa, but you have crossed many lines and I will leave it to my counsel to deal with you.

We engaged Royal Palm to perform a kitchen remodel, and while the final overall result is satisfactory, the time and money it took to get there was completely unacceptable. This was quite surprising given we had used them for another kitchen remodeling effort several years ago, but apparently many things have changed there, and not for the better. While we anticipated a lengthy permitting process due to Hurricane ***, we did not anticipate that it would take 2 months to file for the permit and then 8 months to complete the installation once the permit was received. We were given a one-month install schedule that fell apart on day 1. Our project manager was on site for installation activities only twice over the course of eight months of on-premise work. Overall project management, time management, scheduling, communication and attention to details were all deficient. In total, the project took 15 months to complete. While the design phase went smoothly, thereafter the execution left a lot to be desired. We would not recommend engaging *************************** Cabinetry for any renovation work until the company can prove these issues have been addressed and resolved.

Dear Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our company.  As you know the rebuilding process after the hurricane was incredably difficult.  Staffing issues and permiting issue were a large part of that.  However, we can be honest about your project.  We did not manage your complete complete project.  You employeed your own electrican, carpenters, flooring installers, and countertop fabricators for the project.  You project managed your project.  Your designer went above and behind to provide you a schedule so you could insert your other vendors.  Your overall project was not managed by Royal Palm, nor were we contracted to.

Will agree that it was a JOINTLY managed project, or was supposed to be. Put plainly, Royal Palm consistently fell short on the portions to which they had agreed which were pretty straightforward - provide new cabinets, install new cabinets; that work by Royal Palm took 8 months. The pieces of the project that I managed were completed within the original 1 month schedule. It really is that simple. And potential customers can see the disturbing trends in other previous reviews. Finger-pointing and failure to take any accountability is the hallmark of irresponsibility, and certainly sufficient cause to seek other vendors.
