Fabri-Tech installed our pool cage in the spring of 2018. We had no idea of the poor quality screening that they installed until now. Our pool cage roofing screens are literally disintegrating and not even 4 years old! We noticed a small tear in the top in September, before the hurricane and called them immediately. They said that they would be out in 3 weeks. Then the hurricane happened and our screens tore in many places, hanging down. We are NOT anywhere near the gulf and nobody else in our neighborhood has screen issues. No structural damage in our neighborhood like with ***, when people's cages were damaged. And, we had no pool then. We called Fabri-Tech back because nobody ever came to fix the tear. and it was bigger and hanging down. They told my husband that they had no record of our call in September, but that they would call us and repair. They never did. Then, more issues and tears kept happening in November because the screens are rotting. We have learned from the company who DID come to help us: For the roof/top part, they used cheap fiberglass screening, which is all disintegrating. They said that it typically rots in 2 years. Ours lasted about 3. ALSO, they have NEVER called us back to schedule a fix on the small tear that began the whole mess, not even knowing about the extra tears and rotting that we were discovering. Also: they basically make themselves unavailable by having all mailboxes FULL. I have called and called and they never answer, then say the mailbox is full. They dont care about customer service. They install the cage and then walk away. We never questioned who ************** hired for the cage, but had we known!!! Do not use this company! Thankfully, we have 2 nice young men, recommended on NextDoor, replacing the entire top. However, paying over $2400 on screens 3 years old is very frustrating. The cage structure is great, as well as the lake facing screens., where Fabri-Tech did use better material. The rest is disintegrating garbage. We are beyond frustrated! ******* (the owner of the company who did respond and just replaced our screens) said that the sides will be next. That will be another expense! Do not hire Fabri-Techthey have HORRIBLE customer careNONE AT ALL. You are on your own! They allowed a tear to escalate into a big mess by not responding and coming to our home. Then, we discovered WHY. They probably knew that they would have to repair the whole top, knowing the inferior quality of the screen they installed. I want some of my money BACK. WE are on fixed incomes and expected screens to last 10 years at least, which is the norm with good quality screen fabric.Business Response

When screen is purchased from any distributor theres a one or two year warranty unless you opt for Super Screen or a polyester screen which has a 10 year warranty this job did not have Super Screen installed therefore there is no warranty from us or the manufacture of the screen after the first year or two and we do not use cheaper screen we use the same screen that everyone else uses which is ******** or Adfors .Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: We were never given any kind of option. Nobody even explained anything about the screening or material. We just trusted you. If this is the norm, then customers need to be aware that their screens may disintegrate and be given the option to upgrade. Also, WHY did you not even call us back? Why is your message box always full. We were able to have the screen replaced, but we had to give up on you. VERY POOR SERVICE.
Sincerely,

We are trying to call everyone back however we install approximately **** cages per year with that being said we have 20 to ****** customers right now that call all the time looking for replacement enclosures and its almost impossible for us to respond to everyone were doing the best that we can, you chose to go through ************ who gave you the options on your enclosure not ** we only fabricated what we were asked to fabricate by the pool company that sold you your pool and enclosure. There are a lot of people out there being very patient waiting for us to get back to them as soon as we can ,had you done that I wouldve evaluated the situation to see what I could do However you chose to go another route and use someone else and make the assumption we would just pay for it which is very unfair. we are at *************** ********** based screen company and thousands upon thousands of enclosures are missing this is why were struggling to get back to everyone and spending our time responding to things like this is making it even harder.

I could not find a button to add WHY I am rejecting this latest messsge:
We had been waiting since Septembersince BEFORE the hurricane. When my husband reached them again in October, a very rude lady said that he had never called. NOT TRUE. In September he spoke with someone there who took all the notes snd said that it would be 6 weeks or so. GREAT - we accepted that. After that period had passed, my husband called back. The rude lady said that they had no record of us calling. NOT TRUE AT ALL! After that, no communication from them AND the voice mailbox was always FULL for all lines. We couldnt even leave a message. They just ignore people and dont want messages. What were we to do? We HAD to call someone else. Our screens were hanging and Fabri-Tech was unreachable.
By the way, I posted on NextDoor and many people also voiced complaints. One person had a positive experience and said that Fabri-Tech called them back, after the hurricane, to see how the repair went. If they could make that call, couldnt they have called us? We were kind, available, desperate, and made our first call in September when it was a small tear and hadnt escalated to big tears and screens hanging down and leaving our pool open to debris and pests.
Please add this or reopen and let me know - I will add it then.Initial Complaint

We needed to have some screening replaced on our Lanai. We contacted Fabri-Tech Screening for an estimate and their salesman Dave Cesa came out to our home and measured the entire Lanai. He sent us a written bid (attached) and we agreed with the price and told him that we could start the work as soon as the painters were done. On June 9th we called the salesman to tell him that we were ready to get started and ended up sending him a text. He answered that he would come by on Monday morning to get the deposit and get it right into the office. He never showed up. After many phone calls, we were told that he was on a cruise and would call us first thing Monday morning to get the deposit. He never called. I finally found the phone number for a different salesman, Steve G******** and complained that Mr. Cesa has never followed up with picking up the deposit. Steve agreed to come by the home to see what needed to be done. Then on 6/20/2022 I received a new much higher estimate (attached). When I enquired about the sudden bait and switch price, I was told that Mr. Cesa did not know what he was doing and it was a mistake. After complaining and demanding that they honor their original bid, I spoke to someone that claimed to be an office manager, Tom (no last name). During the phone call, Tom became irate, irrational, and started to scream and attack me personally. He was very unprofessional and clearly did not know how to behave with a customer. He would not listen to my side of the story and just kept screaming and attacking me personally. I finally had to hang up as I do not do well with cursing and yelling. I truly believe that this is a pure example of bait and switch and that the community needs to be aware of the illegal activity.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/08) */ Contacting a business and complaining to a person's colleague is beyond disrespectful. Your expectation of an identical quote from a new sales person is beyond presumptive and then calling the office and demanding that the first quote be honored is absurd. The honorable thing would have been to contact the original salesman and inquire if his quote was still valid, since that is the pricing you are demanding to pay. Instead you submit this complaint claiming a "bait and switch" scheme of the company. When it appears that you are only instigating potential ill feelings between colleagues and demanding reduced pricing, after expressing a desire to use another company to have the work completed. As of today, all that has been received from you are complaints, demands and antagonism. It is recommended that you contact another company to complete the work for you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This is typical falsehoods that this business is famous for. This unsigned response only shows the cowardice of the employees involved. I tried to contact the original salesman with 4 emails, three texts and 2 phone messages. When I realized that he was not going to respond to me, I contacted the salesman that sold us screen in the past and was then told that I should have been assigned to him to begin with since he was my original salesman. I NEVER asked for a second estimate. I was trying to get the first estimate honored. The first written bid was completed by an agent of their company and when I only tried to get it completed, suddenly I was FORCED to get a second estimate that I did want. In fact, I clearly stated that I did not want a second estimate and only wanted to complete the first contract. Since the company's agent gave us an estimate and when we tried to book it at that price, suddenly it increased. That is perfect bait and switch. (the action (illegal) of advertising goods which are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods). After speaking to an attorney, we were instructed to complete the work with a reputable company and to file charges with DBPR and small claims court for any additional charges over what was quoted. I don't want reduced pricing, only offered pricing. All potential clients should know their tactics and I believe that BBB will show that. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/20) */ We feel that it is in the best interest of all parties involved that you find a different company to complete your project.
