      So I was in the process of buying my spouses family home after their mother passed away. I went through every single hoop to get to a closing date. Being a first time home buyer, I wasnt aware of every process. My lender chose Fidelity National Title of *********. The day BEFORE closing, I received a phone call from ***** in their ********* office. She stated we would not be closing on Sept 22 due to a land survey/ deed issue from nearly 20yrs ago when the mother in law sold some adjacent land to the property. No one could find the prior owner from 2007. I had to spend my time and money to find the prior owner and track him down. After going back and forth with ***** on information I found, communication went completely silent. No returned calls, no acknowledgement of me at all. Later I found out that Fidelity completely refused to handle my title insurance after I personally did what they were being paid to do. Luckily, a local title company was able to handle what fidelity refused to do. All this run around made my closing date to go from Sept 22 to Nov 6th.this also caused the probate for the estate to be pushed back by 2 months now also. I would never recommend Fidelity Title to anyone as they are not there to help like one would assume
