DO NOT USE PACK & LOAD SERVICES (recommended by PODS). They boast "they will provide you with the peace of mind knowing that your goods have been professionally handled from move-out to move in". This is not my experience. I had a Grandfather clock that was part of my shipment. I was assured that Pack & Load moves these type of items "all the time". They told me the company was licensed & insured so I should not worry. They even had me pay $85 extra to pack the Pendulum & weights. Upon delivery, the weights were broken & the pendulum was scratched. I hired a Grandfather clock repair shop to repair. (they restored the broken weights, but were not able to remove the scratches & the stain on the pendulum. The charge was $397. (in addition to the $85 I spent with Pack & Load Services for packing the weights & Pendulum). I was sent to the Claims dept to fill out a claim, which I did, including photos, etc. Pack & Load Services' determination was the insurance company offered me $6.00! This was an INSULT! I called & spoke with their claims dept again, with my objection to $6. I was told by Mayra that she will resubmit & see what she could do. In the meantime, I was told I should file a claim with Pods, as the damage occurred during the actual move, which I did. PODS said the damage occurred due to improper packing. I then called back requesting to speak to the owner. I was told he was unavailable, then asked for his number, email or phone, they asked me what i wanted to speak with him about, I answered & was rudely told to call customer service & they hung up on me! I called back & spoke with Mayra ******* in the Claims dept & she said she has been speaking directly with the powers that be & the $6 would be the best they could offer. I am so disgusted with this company. They do not stand behind their services. They quote: "All of us here at Pack and Load Services take pride in promoting out core values: HONESTY, RELIABILITY, and PROMISE KEEPING". DO NOT USE THEM!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND PODS/Pack & Load Services I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying their insurance PODS has Pack & Load on their recommended list for packers and loaders, so I chose them – big mistake. Miscalculated load size - Pack & Load grossly miscalculated the size of PODs needed, so I was forced to leave behind many treasured items (large silk palm trees, tool boxes, shelf unit), in spite of them reassuring me several times that everything would fit in my PODS. Theft - During packing, a Pack & Load employee stole a locked metal box and a ring. Fortunately, the company did recover my ring and I appreciate their effort. Damage - Pack & Load packed my TV in a TV box. It was so jammed into the POD that when unloaded, they had to twist the box to get the POD door opened which damaged my TV. Pack & Load packed a box with an arrow pointing up with large pictures. They delivered it upside down, with several pictures inside damaged or broken. Several of my wicker dining room chairs had scruffed spots because they were not protected enough. Insurance Virtually Worthless - Reimbursement for damaged items is based on weight at 60 cent per pound – big mistake. They only allowed $25 for my damaged $515 TV based on weight. I guess I would have only gotten 60 cents for my $1000 ring if it had not been recovered! Neither PODS nor Pack & Load responded to my complaint letter.

I found the people I spoke with at P&L to be friendly, competent and helpful. They worked closely with me on scheduling packing of **** in one state, and unpacking 6 months later in another state. The scheduler gave me detailed instructions on how many ratchet tie downs to buy, as well as quantity and weight of packing blankets to purchase - costing over $125 all together. The movers who arrived to pack were pleasant and efficient. However, they used only a fraction of the moving blankets I was asked to purchase. They used only 3-4 of the ratchet tie-down straps purchased. I failed to watch their packing of the **** closely. On *** unpacking, I had some damaged expensive wood furniture, piano bench damage, missing parts from piano taken apart for shipping (which is an additional expense for "specialty moving service"). Despite paying for insurance with ****, they denied any coverage of damage, stating it was due to packing. A subsequent claim with P&L resulted in very small amount of compensation based on weight of the items - quoted as the terms in the agreement. Potential customers should understand that **** insurance is to cover something catastrophic that happens to a ***, and not for any damage due to packing. Pack and Load will not compensate you for amount of damage to your belongings based on value, but only by a calculation based on weight of the item. Given what appears as no consistency in the national training and quality of the *** packers/unloaders (using only a fraction of the blankets in packing I was asked to purchase in my case), the customer's only option is direct supervision of the packers. You should be prepared to watch them throughout the packing process to see how they are positioning your belongings in the ****, and assuring they are using adequate protection for any furniture as they stack items. Any items that get disassembled must be monitored, and location of the parts for reassembly be tracked closely.

The worst moving company, they use young, inexperienced kids to pack and move your items into PODS containers. On their website, they hold themselves out as experts in moving pianos under the Special Services, which they charge an extra premium for moving pianos. Their website states: "Whether it’s your prized piece of art, a safe, a piano, fragile antiques or a prized wine collection, we can handle it all efficiently and cost effectively. By using state-of-the-art packing materials and techniques, you can be assured that your special items will be safely packed and loaded in your storage container." However, they did NOT use state-of-the-art materials or techniques. In fact, they did NOT have a piano dolly, they did NOT have a piano board to move a full-sized seven-foot grand piano. Needless to say, they caused extensive damage to the piano and dented new $12,000 worth of flooring. In addition, they did not even used advance moving techniques to load the PODS as the loaded several boxes marked "Fragile" at the bottom, then proceeded to load heavier boxes on top, crushing the contents in the boxes marked fragile. This company made a blatant false claim and charged extra fees to professionally move a piano, then sent young, inexperienced kids who didn't even have a professional piano dolly or at a minimum, a piano board to move such a large instrument. Dealing with their office is a joke as they offered less than $200 for almost $4,000 in damages. Run far away from this company and their false claims.

Kind crew, but methods left us confused at the end of the move. They broke down furniture for better placement on our packing container, but loaded some parts and left other parts of the same item of furniture behind. Left lots of debris and packaging on ground that we had to clean up afterwards. Crew left immediately w/o communicating as if fleeing something which left us wondering if something had been broken/damaged and we'll find out once our items are delivered and unwrapped. To sum it all up in my partner's words, the overall job was "raggedy and disappointing."

I prepaid $600 for two movers to work for 3 hours. When the movers arrived, they refused to work past 2 hours and told me to take it up with the company if I had a problem. When I asked the company for a $200 refund, they refused.
Also everyone I spoke with from the movers to the customer service reps more rude and dismissive. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before hiring them just because they were associated with PODS.

I recently hired Pack and Load Services to unload my 16’ POD. They were recommended by PODs. While unpacking my furniture from the POD one of the crew damaged my brand new dining room table, which was not part of the move, by hitting it with another piece of furniture. The table was not in the way it was just a carless mistake. I submitted a claim to the company and was offered their standard.60 cents per pound with a maximum of $25.00. My case was determined to get the full $25.00 which I did not accept. My issue is that their employee damaged something that was in my house and not part of the move. It is outside of their damage waiver policy because that covers everything they move or pack. What would happen if they dropped a big hutch down a flight of stairs or started the house on fire. I think they should be liable for damage to my home and its contents. I can’t believe that they advertise a A+ BBB rating when they have 1.2 rating on Yelp.
