1 starThis bank is awful. Everything about them and everything they do is terrible. Space Coast CU is arguably the worst institution in the state of *******. I've never had a bank essentially punish me for paying my credit card balance in full by freezing portions of my credit limit. I've also never had a bank process my fraud claims with a new card... and then deny crediting my fraudulent charges. I was forced to pay for a criminal's purchases because this bank essentially accused me of lying. Everything with them is made as inconvenient as possible to the point that it feels like they actively dislike their members. Avoid them, there's so many better financial institutions to use. On May 31st, I registered for a youth account with SCCU for my daughter. At the time of setup, I was clearly informed that I needed to sign the required documentsnot my daughter. Naturally, I assumed everything was in order once I fulfilled what was asked of me. Fast forward: we received her debit card and I contacted the credit union to complete the final setup and card ************* daughter soon left on a church retreat, where her only line of communication was through chaperones. When she attempted to use her card for the first timeit was declined. I tried calling SCCU on Sunday, only to discover that no one works on Sundays. Apparently, life comes to a halt at **** on weekends.I contacted customer service first thing Monday morning, only to be told that the account setup was incomplete because some documents weren't signed. I sent in proof that I had signed everything required of me. Thats when they dropped the ball againnow claiming my 14-year-old daughter was supposed to sign as well.Let me get this straight: how is a minor with no credit history supposed to be verified, and how is this new requirement not made clear from the start? Now, thanks to ***** failure to communicate and their poor setup process, my daughter is away with no money and no access to her account. This is more than an inconvenienceits *************** make matters worse, I was told I had to wait for someone to contact me to resolve this. No direct line, no escalation, and apparently no accountability. Theres not even a phone number available for the corporate office.If this is how **** handles youth accounts and customer support, I cant imagine how they handle anything more complex. Thank you for your response. However, I must respectfully disagree with the claim that this matter was handled in a "timely manner." The issue began on a Sunday, which, while outside your normal business hours, involved a critical emergency concerning a minor with no access to funds. I reached out first thing Monday morning, and despite the urgency, I did not receive any communication from your team until Wednesday, followed by another delayed response on Friday.Had I not taken the initiative to call again, my daughter would have remained stranded without access to money during a church retreatsomething completely unacceptable. A situation like this demands action within hours, not days, especially when the safety and well-being of a child is at stake.Simply stating we're sorry does not correct the miscommunication or lack of urgency displayed. The process should have been clearly explained during setup, and any required signatures should have been confirmed at that timenot discovered later through trial and error during an emergency.I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously, and that **** considers implementing stronger protocols and escalation procedures for account issues involving minors, especially when a parent/guardian has done everything asked of them.Review fromEthan N

MUST READ IF YOU FINANCE A CAR OR RV!!! I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Space Coast Credit Union concerning my 2013 ******************** C RV loan. Despite being a loyal member for years, my efforts to resolve a fraudulent loan have been met with inadequate support and poor communication. My concerns have been ignored, and they have failed to acknowledge the substantial payments Ive made. I am currently being held liable for a loan that they never ran a title check on and was not legally able to be sold but they funded the deal anyways. The loan should never have been issued without a clear title from the dealership. This ordeal has caused my family significant stress and years of legal and financial strain due to their oversight. If you're seeking a reputable, safe, and reliable bank for your next loan, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Doing business with Space Coast Credit Union poses SERIOUS financial risks, as they leave their members in challenging situations and do not run title checks before issuing vehicle loans (BUYER BEWARE). I recently purchased a car from Space Coast ***** in Cocoa Fl. In order to complete the sale they submitted a loan application to the Space Coast Credit Union in *********, **. I had preciously applied for the same loan myself using my actual monthly income at the same financial institution, not once but twice and was denied each time, however when Space Coast ***** sent in the loan application, they inflated my monthly income by $3000 without my knowledge (I did not find this out until a week later when I called SCCU) and Space Coast Credit Union approved the loan even after having my current financial information.I am very disappointed with SCCU for NOT following thru and checking their records and finding this INCOME Discrepancy and not doing anything about the situation, they should not have approved the loan to begin with and when they had both Income Amounts should have done something about it.Space Coast Credit Union

I received unprofessional and dismissive treatment from Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) regarding a fraudulent charge on my secured credit card. As a long-time customer, I am extremely disappointed by their mishandling of my case and lack of concern for my financial security.On December 23, 2024, an unauthorized cash advance was charged to my secured credit card in *****, *** location I have never visited. I immediately contacted SCCUs fraud department, and while I was on the phone with a representative, another fraudulent charge was attempted. Despite these clear signs of fraud, **** denied my claim twice, stating that because my physical card was in my possession at my home in *******, **, I must have been present when the fraudulent transaction occurred.I then visited a local **** branch for assistance, where the teller offered no help and instead advised that I should have lied and reported the card as lost or stolen. At no point was I provided with a reference number, claim details, or any form of follow-up communicationI had to personally call multiple times to check the status of my dispute.After nearly two months of frustration, unanswered questions, and blatant disregard for my concerns, my claim was suddenly approved on February 20, 2025. This abrupt reversal, after repeated denials and lack of support, raises serious concerns about ***** fraud investigation process and customer service ethics.This experience has left me with zero confidence in ***** ability to protect its members from fraud. Their dismissive approach, failure to follow standard fraud resolution procedures, and complete lack of communication are unacceptable. I am submitting this so that other consumers are aware of ***** negligence in handling fraudulent transactions and their disregard for customer security.I urge ******************** to investigate these unfair practices, as no customer should have to endure this level of incompetence when dealing with financial fraud.Space Coast Credit Union

I obtained a Home Equity debt consolidation loan from Space Coast Credit Union. I was assured that my creditors would be paid directly from the loan proceeds. However, a few weeks after closing, I began receiving payment due notices from several of my creditors. Despite numerous calls and hours spent on the phone with Space Coast representatives, I was repeatedly told that the error was not on their end. Weeks later, it was discovered that Space Coast Credit Union had indeed made incorrect payments, leaving a balance on my account. This resulted in me having to retrieve loan proceeds from two creditors to make the corrected payment and clear my credit card balance. I will not use Space Coast Credit Union again and I will closely monitor any future financial activity associated with Space Coast Credit Union.Space Coast Credit Union

This is a terrible credit union. I paid off my auto loan on Dec. 7, 2024. Today is Dec. 23, 2024 16 days later. They have my money and I still have a lien on my car. Don't use them. Find another.Space Coast Credit Union

Space Coast Credit Union is the worse institution EVER. I did not have any experience with credit unions prior, so this was my first time. I read horrible reviews online regarding this credit union, but I agreed to open a business checking and savings account there and give them a chance because my husband is a veteran and he has been banking with SCCU for a few years even though he also hates it. They erroneously sent an international wire transfer from my business account and after almost 3 months when the money was finally recalled and returned to my account, it was short of $1,291.05 and NO explanations as to why or what this money was retained and deducted from my account.Space Coast Credit Union
