Entered into contract on March ****** I paid a deposit on March 25,2025 of $863.54. Come May I had gotten a call from Housman to inform me the City had declined the permint due to city setback codes. At this point I was told I would not get a refund of my deposit that bit was spent. Housmans also said that they were not responsible to know the code requirements. they hide behind this to steal from people.

We have already responded to Mr. **** on BBB, ******* List and Google.  All say the same thing and we are awaiting his call to our office.

Mr. **** supplied a survey, which is required by the customer per our contracts.  Unfortunately, the survey Mr. **** provided was old and did not provide setbacks on it  We have no way of knowing the setbacks on any given property, unless supplied by the customer or the building department.  We sent the information to the Building Department.  The Building Department said the customer could provide a new Boundary Survey and apply for a Variance.  It is up to the customer to choose which option to go with.  This customer was told that the entire deposit could not be refunded as we had already paid expenses on his behalf.  Mr. **** was never told that he could not get his deposit back.  Our contracts do state that the deposit is non refundable and the customer did signed off that he understood this, however we make exceptions for set back issues.  All the customer needs to do is contact the office and let us know which route he is choosing to take and we can discuss the amount of refund he is entitled to.

We have asked him to stop putting false information out into the public as he has been doing.  This has nothing to do with us not knowing code requirements and everything to do with the survey the customer provided to us for the build.  We, nor any other company, cannot do anything without an up to date and correct survey.  We are not responsible for providing the current survey, the customer is and we do not hide behind or steal anything from our customers.

    Thank you

Again lies from this company! Survey boundaries dont ever change unless you sell property I have never sold any property. They simply had to go online and look at the setbacks that is publicly produced by the cities. Every other contractor does this in history, defense people did it the shed people did it the driveway people did it the only people that didnt know is a contractor. It is Their responsibility to have these codes available it is not on the homeowner or the customer to provide this information. I have never put anything that was non-true in public. And they have never attempted to contact me. I called the business manager, and when they tried to put me on hold again and told me she wasnt available. I told her I wasnt hanging up until I spoke with her. Then the salesman called me a few days later after she told me she escalated and he told me on the phone now they spent the money.. are fundamentally dishonest. I will continue to let the public know how dishonest they are!

    Business Response

We have already responded to this customer.  Considering we were going to build between a shed he had on his property and his home there should have been no problem with a 25' setback from the side of the property, unless this customer never permitted the shed he placed on his property which is in the setback according to the building department.  That is why the Building Department wanted an updated Boundary Survey.  So if the shed was permitted he could have fought the setback issue and he chose not too.  No one in this office ever told this customer that we did not know code requirements.  Fighting a setback issue is not for us to do. This customer never contacted me for any information about his deposit nor did he leave a message for me to return his call prior to posting all over the place.  Please see attached survey, photo of residence and building department response.
