On February 3rd, 2022, I placed an online order with Modell's Sporting Goods for $69.27, only to discover almost a month later when I had still received no shipping confirmation that they have been out of business since 2020. Yet for some reason their website was still up and running, and still deducted the money from my account. I have attempted to contact customer service and only received automated replies stating that someone will respond shortly but they never have. And I also attempted to call their number which was out of service. My order number was #***** and I am hoping you can get me a full refund, because if the money isn't still sitting in some dormant account due to a complete oversight, then it has been collected by a former employee of some kind fraudulently, and their website needs to be taken down or at least put on a list of some kind warning others from falling for this scam.Business Response

I have placed the order for sneakers with Modell's Sporting Goods on their website on November 12 2022, when placing the order the information on the website states it will be shipped with in 5 - 8 days. After waiting and not seeing any order updates I have contacted them and one Representative responded her name is ******************** and told me it is actually will be from 14 - 21+ days for shipping which made no sense to me. Since after ***************************************************************************************************************************************************** refund. It is not right if you no longer have the item just cancel my order and refund the money. But they are giving me a ran around and avoiding to refund me the money.Business Response

On October 24, 2022 I reached out to Modell's customer service to request starting a return for pants that did not fit. On Oct 25, 2022, 09:27 PDT they replied with:Hello,Thank you for contacting DressBarn Customer Experience team. We'll happy to assist you with your Return Request. Please be sure to send ** your item(s) back in full accordance with our Return Policy:Items must be sent back within 30 days of the delivery date. Items must have original tags attached and in new condition. No clearance or returns exclusion items are being sent. I will create a paid shipping label that will be deducted from your refund total and will send it to you to print and attach to the package.Upon receiving the return and passing inspection, we will create a store credit for you to use for purchasing an exchange. I'm attaching the return label requested, (tr#********************** ) Once received and processed at our warehouse we will proceed with your store credit. ************** replied back to ***** "Oct 25, 2022, 17:31 PDT - I am wanting a refund not a store credit. What is the process for a refund? At which she told me "Hello,*****, Upon further review, it has come to our attention that your request goes against our posted Return Policy. However, we do hear your grievance and would like to offer you an additional 50% as store credit to redeem towards any product on our site. So, instead of {*****}, we will be crediting you in the form of a Modell's gift card: ($79.8). We appreciate you for shopping with ** and hope that we have been helpful. On 9/7 /2022 I ordered a multifunctional power rack from Modells sporting goods. My order number was *****. I spent about 800 dollars on this item that I am not able to finish setting up because it is missing pieces. I have reached out to them via email since that is the only way to contact anyone in that organization. Ive sent more than ****************************************************************************************************************** when they received that information. That was more than a month ago now. Ive sent numerous emails after that to check the status and I havent received any information or followups since. I would just like for them to mail my missing pieces so I can start using this product. I am missing 3 of the attached pieces.Business Response

I just went on the business website to see if they offer the product any longer. They are out of business from what it seems. How can I be sure I will be refunded for the item purchased ? What if I do not get a refund from the company? What do I do in that case? If I do get a refund from there I am fine with that. I placed an order 11/4/22 (*****) and did receive confirmation it was placed. The money has been taken from my account, *****. I have sent emails 11/17, 11/20, and 12/2 looking for an answer about my order. I did get a response 11/17 from ***************************** stating they were looking into the situation. I bought online a ****************** youth outfit set with helmet on October 7, 2022, from the Modells website, using my debit card. My bank account shows the money was taken out. The total was $82.88. I placed an order on October 11, 2022 for a total of $81.79 for Froggtoggs Women's Ultra-lite2 Jacket - Large- Pink for ***** and Froggtogg's Mens Ultra-lite2 Rain suit - X-large - Realtree Edge for $49.99. I then scrolled through the site and found ******'s had a Price Match Guarantee. I checked online and found the items on Amazon for ***** and *****, respectively. I forwarded a request for the Price Match Guarantee on Oct. 12 which was later the same night. Received an auto reply saying contact within 72 hours at the latest. I also sent requests on Oct 13, 17, and 19 requesting a response; I received none. The site said to contact "Chat". The "Chat" button only redirects you to the Email Contact page. I finally found a Customer Support phone number via ******* **************, and called. The prompt gives you a recording telling you it didn't understand the number you punched and to try again which them redirects you to the online Email Contact Page. I called again and didn't punch a number at all and got the same recording telling me it didn't understand my response and to try again. When you go to the Customer Support Email page, it asked to put your subject in the subject line, then further down there is a "Reason for Contact" line, which has to filled in, in order to send the request, but it has a drop down menu which offers only three options: 1 - to be added to advertising list, 2 - to cancel text message, 3- to cancel email messages. So any request I have sent has to be under the first reason, since the others would effectively eliminate any contact. I have received an email saying my order is fulfilled and shipped, but the Price Match Guarantee was not applied. I had also sent an order cancellation Oct. 12; the order was not marked fulfilled until Oct. 17. I haven't received the order yet, but it is scheduled for delivery Wednesday, Oct 19, by close of day.Business Response

I have a Modells issued gift card that they will not honor because they now have new ownership. However, customers with Modells gift cards were never made aware of the policy change. How can this be legal?Thank you.Business Response

We are unable to locate any purchase history with this person's name and email address provided.
Because of the nature of the issue of the customer - we are unable to process a refund or money back for their gift card as the information isn't available to us so there isn't a way we can verify any information.
