April 5th 2023 I contracted with Lipton window and doors was told it was to be a 2 day installation it went to 6 days of grinding cement floors, windowsills and non stop banging with a rubber mallet to put my windows in. I was told that by the salesman that these were custom made windows. I had a representative from CWS windows come to my house and told me that they were Retro windows not custom made. This job was not prepped correctly which was resulted in cement and wood dust going through out my entire house. They never cleaned up a thing they spilled soda on the patio pavers and never cleaned it up. They had my hurricane window canvas for my front door which they had laying on the pavers where it was filty from the cement dust and dirt. When I went back out they had walked all over it and was filty. They said it was now made wrong. *** was here and it was shown to him and it told me he was going to make me a new one that fit and took it back to the shop. they told me a new one was made which was a lie. The repair man came back and said yes it was a new one. He had wrote on the top in ,magic marker in big letters front right who does that. Then when he left I took it out of the bag it was the same dirty filthy one that they cut with a sissors which was all frayed this is what they were trying to pass off on me. It took me a month in half to clean everything in my house and caused damage to my bedroom carpet. Stucco damage, marble ***** were broken, my glass top to my tv stand was broke also which were repaired. When the inspector was here opening a window the spring, cord and parts came flying out of the window, they had they fixed that today. They were here now 6 times for repairs which caused me great stress. I have incurred expenses for cleaning, paint, dry cleaning, etc. I am a 70 year old woman with major health problems and was treated very poorly and ****** by *** Lipton and his manager in my home. I held back $1000 from a $34,821.00 job. On July 14, 2023 I spoke to *** Lipton reguested a release of lien and he said not until you give the $1000 you owe me. I don't feel I should pay him any more money in as much as I have incurred expenses as stated above as lost time and stress. All of the product that was installed in the customers home were ordered and installed correctly and to the manufacturer's specifications. The customer is 100% correct, the ********************* are Retro windows which means retrofit not standard sizes. We Emailed the customer on 4/4 to remind her of her installation that was scheduled for 4/5 - 4/10, Thats 5 days, it took us an extra day to complete. The job was quite large and difficult and took more than the expected time to do it. We are not going to rush through the job. We attempted to schedule the inspection on 4/12 but the customer refused until we did the glass repair on the scratched glass. The installation manager was scheduled to visit the home on ****, unfortunately he was sick, when the office called to let her know, they got a fury of nastiness. *** called her on 4/19 to reschedule and she unleashed her nastiness on him, she expressed her displeasure with the installers and the time they took. Set appointment for 4/25. On 4/25/2023 the installation manager and I went to the home to look at the installation and address her issues. The first thing she did was greet us with a slew of F bombs and than proceeded to toss the hurricane fabric shutter on the front yard. We listened to her complaints and took her abuse as professionally as we could. The installation looked great, there were 2 marble ***** that were cracked and there was a piece of glass with a scratch in it and a damaged screen, and the hurricane fabric that someone walked on and left footprints, along with the broken ** stand glass. Except for the ** stand glass these are all items that happen from time to time and are common. We ordered replacement glass for the scratched piece, a new screen and a new piece of hurricane fabric and both marble *****. a pattern was made for the ** stand glass and sent out to be made. The customer was complaining that there was excessive dust in her home but at that time we did not see any This may or may not be true. She has a beautiful well kept home. On 5/11 we attempted to schedule the final repairs needed and were informed not to contact her for 6 weeks because her dog was in quarantine. We went out on 6/20/2023 to complete the repairs and the only item that was missing was the glass for the ** stand. We ordered and delivered a new piece of hurricane fabric because it did have footprints on it. I have the old piece in my office if the customer wants it. We Had inspection from county on 6/23 and while the inspector was checking windows the Balancer spring on 1 window broke. We went out and replaced the balancer on 7/5. The county required us to re call the inspection so they could see that the repair had been made to the balance spring. When we attempted to schedule the inspection, the customer berated the office staff until they were disconnected. The customer called back and I answered the phone, she wanted to know what "the deal was" I told I don't know what you are talking about. She said that she wants a release of lien and a paid in full receipt. I told her she still has a balance of $1000 to which she replied that she didn't think she should have to pay that. I told her I thought that was a little extreme and she went off with F bombs and expletives. I asked her to stop screaming so we could talk, and she just screamed louder, so I disconnected the call. Now here we are.
I would have worked with her on the final payment to make her happy but the entire process with this woman has been nothing but horrible. She has berated every person in this building, acted like a juvenile and treated everyone with complete disrespect. It is very hard to work with someone and try to do the right things when they constantly do things to make the situation worse. I didn't even have a chance to discuss with her that her inspection needs to be completed. If there was a ********************** ***** She would have an F.
If the customer would like her inspection, she can Email the office with the day she would like it. If she wants her old fabric shutter let us know in the email and we will drop it off to you.

I am rejecting this response because: You had a few things right in your response to my complaint, yes, I did use the * bombs quite a few times and so did you in MY HOUSE. I am sure that I am not the first one to go off on you nor will I be the last. I was furious from all aggravation, mess and lies that I was told. I was told this was going to be a 2-day installation. When I called and spoke to you and asked you to get more installers here because they didnt even have the frame out of the old sliding glass door, and they had a entire house to do and I could now see that this is going to take way longer than I was told. You told me that you sent me your BEST INSTALLERS. That was a lie, ****** who is a very nice young man was learning, I saw that right off the bat. {They were young men how much experience could they have had?} ***** had to tell him that 4/8ths is a 1/2, I saw the way ****** was holding the drill when he had to put the screws in, he was very nervous but very careful, ***** was telling him how to do it. It had looked to me that he had never done this before. You stated this job was quite large and difficult then why would you send a person who was learning. You cannot BS me because I happen be extremely handy, I have more tools in my garage then most men and I know how to use every single one.
I had to tell ***** this was now the 5th time, 3 different repair men, that had tried to fix the lock on my screen door. When ***** came back the last time he told me the werent meant to be opened, I said to him then why is there a locking device on them if there not made to be opened, he asked me why do I want to open them I then I said how am I supposed to clean glass, I told him that the latch was set back too far and he had to put a shim behind it to bring it out further so it catches. He then said he had a shim on the truck he went and got it and now it was finally fixed.
You knew everything that was going on here, yes you told me you heard it 100 times from me before not once did you ever pick up the phone and call me to apologize what kind of a businessman are you.
You were right on my home being beautiful and well kept. Yes, I was complaining about the cement and tile dust it was everywhere, and you said this may or may not be true that this happened are you SERIOUS. I was breathing all this dust into my lungs and washing every single thing down in my house for weeks I am not supposed to be on a ladder due to my severe osteoporosis. You all new that my back had been out prior to you coming here and I was in a lot of pain and now I was stuck cleaning this mess. Not only that my washer,dryer,dishwasher was running 12 hrs. a day and me washing all my pots and pans by hand my electric and water bill went sky high. When a tile setter cuts tile with a wet saw it is done outside away from the house, so the dust does not go in the house. Your BEST INSTALLERS should have properly Prepped my home before they started grinding the floor tile which is 9 feet long and the cement sill. They should have done this in every room. Drop clothes should have been placed on all my carpets. That dust went all over my $8000 dining room set that was right in front of where they were grinding, yes, they had it partially covered the plastic drop cloth, but it didnt even go all the way to the floor. They should of put up a Zip wall before they even started. You, your manager and your installers should watch this video on how to properly Prep a house before doing any jobs. ***************************************
When your installer broke my glass to my ** stand, I didnt get mad *** was there when they had told me about, I said stuff happens. They should have moved it out of the way, but they didnt and yes you did replace it. I went in later to vacuum when they left to make sure all the glass was out of my carpet thats when I saw broken glass in my cats litter box no problem so I empty it and when I went to put the new kitty litter that was in this container that was kept next to the ** stand they had to have knocked over that container first before they broke the glass because when I put the new kitty litter in the litter box there was all broken slivers and pieces of glass all in the new kitty litter. They put it back in the new kitty litter, like I was NOT going to see this. They should of thrown it out and just have told me. Thank God I saw this my cat could of gotten glass in his paws. Who does that to an animal, you tell me and yes, I was fuming MAD. Now I had to stop what I was doing and run out to the store to buy new.
They never put down any plastic on my carpets. My very expensive carpet in my bedroom now is like cardboard that I have a hard time pushing my vacuum. I steam cleaned it 2 times and the water came out black from the cement dust when they ground down cement on the sliding glass door in my bedroom. Want pictures I can show you pictures of the water looked like (BLACK)? I am praying that ******* Steamer can get it cleaned I got a price from them for $260 to clean my carpets If they cant get it clean I dont how much its going to cost me to replace it. $34 to Dry clean my Comforter. I keep my carpets like new because I take care of them. I do not go in any of my rooms with carpeting with any kind of liquids or food and here your installer had a large plastic soda cup up over my wooden desk on a wire rack in my storage room that leaked condensation all over the papers I had on my desk Thank God it went on the papers and not on my beautiful wooden desk. They had also spilled soda on my pavers under my patio and never cleaned it up just left it I had to take out the hose, get the soap scrub brush and clean it. They also must have been cleaning either their dirty hands that had caulk on them or the caulk rag in MY POOL. When I went to let my dogs out I saw all this white splatter marks on 2 panels on my Black baby fence around my pool,again I had to take out with the hose, soap, scrub brush and clean it. ***** had caulk all over my pavers that ****** had to clean up. In the beginning I had asked them to PLEASE just pick up the old screws, caulk, wood and chunks of cement on my patio and I will come out with my vacuum to get the dirt and sharp pieces of metal, so my little dogs wont get them in their paws. Nope just left it for me to pick up, all of this was around my entire house in my grass and garden.
Before they got here I had put all the old screens by my air conditioner asked ***** to please take them with you before you leave because the kept blowing onto the grass and onto my neighbor's grass and I was constantly picking them up. Nope he didnt do it, next day told him again his answer was tomorrow nope didnt do it, I said to him my lawn man is coming tomorrow so please put them in the trailer take them out of here because they keep blowing on where he has to mow the lawn ****** answer to me was well HE can move them. I told him no you need to take them today. I was mad and was holding all of this in. They also left my old windows in front of my house where I walk out the door twice again I will take them tomorrow nope didnt happen so thats I called I think I spoke to ******** not sure to get him back here to take this windows that I live in a deed restricted community, yes he did come back and take them only because he was told to from someone at Lipton.
After ***** finally got the sliding glass door in at the end of the day, I asked to show me how to work the lock on my slider he told me he doesnt have them on yet he will put them on tomorrow are you kidding me he was leaving me here with no locks on my door good thing I had asked. Twice I said that you need to put those locks now you are not leaving here without putting them on, he was not happy I can tell you that. There were these vinyl short and long pieces outside under my kitchen window for days ***** had worked right over them they full of dirt, caulk, hunks of cement, screws. I had asked him what these pieces for he told me to cover the inside screws of the windows when the job was done. I had to vacuum to get all the dirt,etc. off them,then I had to wash them all off and I bought them in my house. Get this straight, I didnt work for you I wasnt getting paid to clean up after your installers, you worked for ME.
Let's talk about **** the man who installed the back door by my kitchen, he bought his floor fan with him to cool down and I had asked him if he could please put my ODL door back on for me when he was done installing the door because it was heavy, and I am not supposed to lift anything over 16lbs. I had taken it off for him. He didnt put it back on for me, he told me it was 2 inches too short another lie later that day I went to measure to order the right size and when I measured the one, I took down and it was the same exact size I needed, so I put it back on. Later I go outside to have a cigarette on my patio because I DO NOT smoke in my house here he is with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth a wet rag with xylene in one hand and a dry one in the other with his cigarette smoke blowing all in my house, ashes all over my kitchen floor, not only that I found 2 chips in 2 of my tiles right where he was working. When opening my door to let the dogs out this was after he already left my leaves on my snake plant that was in the corner was now hitting the glass on the door so I turned it and saw that the metal on the door that holds the glass in was hiding the scratch , yes ***** wanted to replace it for me and I told him no because I wasnt going to put the OLD door back it was to heavy for me just leave it, I will touch it up. I was mad when I saw what he had done that he was trying to hide this did he think I wouldnt see this. The nails that he put in the wooden molding must have been the wrong length because he had bent them over into the molding, ***** had to dummy that up. I still can see it. What a nightmare your people are.
***** had left either my old window something on my neighbor's grass in front of his house where ***** parked his truck and had to be sitting there all day in the sun and killed my neighbor's grass, my neighbors let me know he was not happy and that I needed to talk to them about this, so I did. ***** told me he didnt do it that my lawn man did it my lawn man did not do this. I had to go out there twice day and so did my neighbor to water the dead grass to bring it back. He was not responsible for anything he did.
Due to the sheet rock damage I had to paint for all of my rooms because the 2 stores I went to couldnt match up the paint for some reason and this cost me a lot of money in test paint I had to by all new gallons of paint and redo all my rooms, do you think that I wanted to do this? I am still not finished painting inside because I am now painting all of the stucco damage outside more money for paint and stucco because the missed some places that had damage, that I am doing in this 100-degree weather.
*** lied right to my face when he said he was going to make a new hurricane clothe for the front door {because this had been measured wrong and was too big} when **** bought the clothe back to me I asked him if this was a brand new one he also lied right to my face and told me yes, I understand he had to say that for fear of losing his job. No, it was the same filthy disgusting one the YOUR installers had walked on and had their tools all over it. You gave me the same one back that was cut with a scissors that now was all frayed and yes again was fuming mad.
Last day when they were here and they were finishing up I went out to shut my gates and saw there was a big hunk of stucco missing and a long crack buy my widow in the kitchen I told ***** to please fix that before you go, out he went heard the screen door close and he was back in the house I was assuming he had fixed it, NO he did not that was the last straw for me . I had every right to be fuming mad it was one thing after another with him. I was very polite and nice to to them and offered them water all day long even though they were putting me through all this aggravation. You ***, *** and ***** are the only one I have issues with all of *********** men that were here 5 times and women who answers your phones were very nice and polite. I was very nice to all your repairmen when they had here and always offered them something to drink.
***** had no regard for me or my property and neither did you. All you care about was getting your money. You told me I was being unreasonable about asking to keep that $1000 that I held back, you have a lot of nerve. They caused me more than a thousand dollars in damages, stress, and aggravation. ( A real man would have taken responsibility for all of this so that just says a lot about you.) The.5-day installation 5 days of repairs, 2 days waiting for inspector because it failed the 1st time and one last time for repairman to put all the vinyl pieces in. The stress on my poor little dogs and cat from the constant banging that ***** did. When I told *** about this, he tells me to take my little dogs for a walk to get them out of the house, right like I am going to leave two strangers in my house he tells me they can be trusted, let him leave them alone in his house.
I had to cancel ******* ******* and Vet appointments because of how long this job took and the 5 times for your repairmen to come back a fix all the damages. I had to reschedule which had taken months to get new appointments. Yes, the 6 weeks that my little dog had to be in crate calm and quiet, due to his spinal issues set this back. If you think for one minute that this was an easy thing for me to do keeping him in the crate for 6 weeks think again this was breaking my heart, he was crying all day and all night to let him out.This had happened to him in *ebruary when my father was dying in the hospital and had to be kept in the crate again. My vet told me this last time that he thinks this is a chronic condition and cannot be fixed with surgery and that this can happen again at any time. I am so worried that the next time it happens he may not be able to ever get up and walk again and that I will have to put my 3 yr. old little dog to sleep. This set back would never have happened if they didnt have to come back for all these repairs if this job was done right to begin with.
I couldnt understand why *** told me not to speak ******** ever again in his nasty email and I now I know why, when (she your ex-employee ********) called to tell me she had quit working for you because she felt that all the things that you were doing to me and all the horrible, terrible things that you were saying about me was so wrong and that she could no longer work for you,she had felt so bad for me, and I felt so bad for her that she quit because of all of this. She was the only one that showed compassion for me for all the things I was going through with your Company. She has a conscience; I cannot say the same for you. She knew that in September I lost my daughter to Cancer and then my father passing away in *ebruary and was dealing with all of this. She is a very brave woman for telling me all of this and I am very grateful.
If you dont think that I knew you were mimicking me over the phone when I was choking on a piece of bread think again, I knew just what you were doing. That just shows me the kind of a person you truly are.
I would have gladly recommended you, but I wont. A week before you came here, I had a new roof put on my house, not only was this companies' roofers respectable to me and too my property. I had asked the owner for his business cards so if someone asked, I could give it to them. Just recently having my kitchen cabinets refaced they had came out beautiful and I was so happy. I had taken all the doors off, draws out and hardware off for them they were so grateful that I had did that for them, I also helped them bring in the new ones and their tools. I helped hang doors, put the handles on for them and carry out their tools. They were very respectful of me and my property. They were so extremely grateful for me helping them that they took $80 off my bill which I did not want them to do but they insisted. They also insisted that they take me out to diner and I will highly recommend them and give people their website. So I am not that kind of person you think I am. You,*** and your Best Installers put me in that place. It makes me sick that 2 weeks ago I finally remembered the name of the company that installed my windows in my other home 15 years ago or I would have surely used them again they were Excellent. 5 Stars Put your wife in my place. It takes a real man to admit when his wrong and to fix things he made wrong and make it right.
