We are a Diamond owner, which is very deceptive. Hoped Hilton would be better after purchasing DRI. However after attempting to sell Hiltons MAX, twice to us, first for $25k and then for $80k. We refused their offer both times after reading the actual contract, which has very little guarantees, and actually conflicts with what both Daimond and Hilton reps proclaimed it did, included. It came down to us just having to trust Hilton would do the right thing, and provide what they refused to put in writing. While we use our points, we are already noticing more difficulty in locking in weeks. We can however find 3rd party sites like Expedia with availability, and at prices less than what out point value is between out mortgage and Maintance. Neither is an acceptable way to treat owners. Timeshare sales presentations are always expected to be high pressure and short on honesty, but since purchased by Hilton, it's getting worse. Hilton reps, ones that proclaim they are with Hilton, are basically calling you stupid if you don't buy into HGV MAX. They tell you point blank you are loosing all your affiliate resorts and some others, us you will have less access to the remaining ones. They are either outright lying, or are indeed taking away what we indeed bought into. Either way it's unacceptable. It's also become more difficult to get ahold of Diamond, taking much more time to deal with issues. Having lost confidence in both Hilton and Diamond, and having been told by both that we would loose access if we don't spend a lot more money, we are looking to exit this industry completely, but they make that very hard. Without a satisfactory resolution from Hilton/Diamond, we will be forced into lodging a formal complaint with the states AG, and then using legal proceedings to exit what's continusing to be a very deceptive industry.
