1 starTWENTY- FIVE years of loyalty means absolutely nothing to Sheraton. They will still have no qualms about scamming you to make a profit. Over the years, I have upgraded several times and likely spent hundreds of thousands on loans, maintenance fees, and other fees, but it's never enough for those greedy people. After having so much experience with them, I can tell you what to expect: You will likely be hounded by multiple salespeople at once, none of whom will take no for an answer. Believe me when I tell you, you are not buying any type of real estate, no matter what you are told. You will probably not be told how much you are REALLY spending because they don't like calling attention to the interest rate & finance charge. Maintenance fees WILL go up EVERY year, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They DO sell timeshares and not deeded property that gives tax benefits like owning a 2nd home. ALL of what they tell you will likely be lies. The best way to do business with them is to NOT do business with them. If you do decide to buy a timeshare, READ EVERYTHING VERY CAREFULLY AND DON'T LET THEM SUMMARIZE THE CONTRACT, like they did with me.Review fromRoby M

1 starSheraton and/or Vistana has to be one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I never thought such a "reputable" company would blatantly lie and take advantage of people. My wife and I spend almost 4 hours during our honeymoon haggling over something we didn't even want, simply because salespeople wouldn't let us leave their presentation. Every time we tried to leave, we were told to wait, and a cheaper deal followed. It was VERY clear that they did not understand the word "NO". As it turns out, all the details they gave us about what we were buying were lies and the benefits are not benefits at all. Salespeople made it a point to say we weren't buying a timeshare; we were making an investment in an investment property. We were supposed to have plenty of points to book a vacation but could never get ANYTHING. When we signed the contract, they recorded the session but stopped recording when we had a question. Gee, I wonder why??? I should have known right then that we were being taken advantage of.Review fromAriel R

Please do NOT sign up for this. Me and my wife sat down for this sales pitch and everything that was told to us was a complete LIE. I'm so disappointed with this company and how they prey on hard working individuals. I asked the sales manager about the cancellation policy his response was you can cancel anytime..that was a lie. The sales person stated that we would be able to put our vacation home on Airbnb for a week to earn the HOA fees back, which I got a letter in the mail for my HOA for 800.00 dollars one month after making my first payment. My wife lost her job and I tried to cancel. I tried to reserve a trip and I was saddened that I didn't have enough points that I'm paying for 202.00 a month for. Also upon signing the mortgage me and wife had been drinking at the hotel bar because the process took over 2 hours, the sales people told us to hide our alcohol drinks before signing the contract, we told them we didn't want to sign up for it but they kept saying more misleading things to entice us, after doing some research after no. I want out of this program because the lies we were told. I am a hard working military veteran and the fact that I can't even enjoy a vacation without going through loops too book a vacation, I'm disappointed. I'm cry about this horrible decision that was made and I am stressed about making the payments. The sales person told me I could cancel anytime! I can't even enjoy a vacation from this program. I'm going to keep letting people know on all my social media platforms about this program so another hard working family does not get tricked into this. We only have one life to live and vacation has always been my stress reliever and now I can't do that as much as I used too because I'm paying for this monthly. I want out and I'm going to keep making noise about this scam program.Vistana Signature Experiences

We are very sorry to hear about Mr. ******** complaint regarding his purchase in the Sheraton Flex Program. In review of Mr. ******** ownership profile we see that he acquired 38,000 StarOptions on May 29, 2022. The 10-day rescission period is disclosed to each new purchase in bold, conspicuous font, just above the signature line of each purchase agreement.
Mr. ****** also received a copy of the StarOptions chart, illustrating the number of points that are required for a given resort stay.
We are similarly sorry to learn of Mrs. ******** change in employment and wish the ****** family the best during this difficult time. Once maintenance fees are paid the ******** will be able to use their StarOptions to plan a terrific stay at one of our Sheraton Vacation Ownership resorts.Ariel R

Your sales team still lied, and so many other people are going through the same thing. This company should be shut down. Honesty is always the best way to go about things. The sales man still should have not stated that it could be canceled ANY time and he lied about the HOA fees stating we would have to pay them a year later after signing up. I will continue to argue this until something is done. I'm not the only person or family that is in a bind right now.Vistana Signature Experiences

Maintenance fees are invoiced in tandem with usage, so if usage begins in the 2022 use year, then maintenance fees would be owed for that year. If first year of occupancy is defined as 2023 in the sales agreement, then fees would be invoiced for the 2023 use year. At this juncture we must only reiterate that we will stand behind the clear disclosure statements that were provided within the sales contract that Mr. ****** signed on the date of his purchase.Review fromCarmela T

2 starsWould you be shocked to learn that Vistana Timeshare is less than ethical? I think not. We have owned since 2010, as our salesman coaxed us into buying a "2nd home". A 2nd home that we have only been able to use TWICE in 12 years! The price of the timeshare cost to date is $30,000; therefore, each vacation cost us $15,000. Unbelievable! Our maintenance fee is now $1800 annually. I can spend less than this by booking my vacations on my own. We are shocked that this company is still operating. We no longer are going to allow them to lie and deceive us.Review fromHeather B

1 starAre negative stars an option?? I don't think I can bring it down to 1000 words... Hassle, disappointment, unexpected fees, expired points, missed deadlines, lack of customer service, no one answering the phone, bait and switch on who can help us, maintenance fees SCAM, not what was promised, unable to leverage.... the whole thing was a huge mistake and our worst investment ever. As avid travelers I can tell you this system does NOT work well and the people who sell it to you have ZERO desire to help you out. Buyer beware big time.Review fromKaren A

1 starFirst of all, look at all of the reviews! I'm adding another one star review- because you can't put no stars This is just another timeshare scam. I was planning on using our point to go to St Johns. There were plenty of dates to choose from within the time frame (all of September), and very reasonable points. However We couldn't book until 60 days before our chosen date. At the 60 day mark, suddenly ZERO dates were available. We tried Bahamas, which again before had plenty of choices. And again at the 60 day mark-ZERO. I am so disgusted that we fell for this, they seemed like not just another time share. DO NOT BE FOOLED, DO NOT BUY, you will regret it as we do. There is no buy back options, just "sign your deed over to us".Review fromSh d

We went if vacation to Orlando vistana Sheraton resort June 2021. They did the sales pitch and it was monthly payment around $270. It was affordable and they really tricked us to buy ownership. Only thing that we have to pay was annual fees around $800. I was able to get a personal bank loan and paid off the whole loan $14000 in 12 months. They also sent me Deed in June 2022. Now, they are calling me that I am past due $6900 maintenance fees for this year. I am shocked and surprised? What is this high amount that they are asking me to pay for maintenance fees due since May 2022. I need to know all the lies I was told to get into the ownership. How can I afford $6900 fees??? This is fraud. I need an answer. I am not paying.Vistana Signature Experiences

We apologize for the confusion that has occurred with respect to Ms. ******* ownership account. Mrs. ***** made a payment of $6,785.96 intended to go towards her mortgage, but instead of going to her mortgage balance the funds were applied towards HOA fees. Financial Services transferred the payment to her mortgage as she intended. We received a chargeback from Mrs. ******* bank in May, but we won the chargeback. Then, we received an additional chargeback in June, which Mrs. ***** won. As a result, she was refunded the $6,785.96 back to her credit card company. Because of this, we had to transfer the chargeback to her maintenance fee account as this is where the charge originated from. This caused the maintenance fees to appear delinquent, even though they are not. Mrs. ***** still owes on her loan as we did not receive the payment of $6,785.95 due to the June chargeback.
Kirsten ****** from our corporate Customer Advocacy office has reached out to Mrs. ***** to explain what has transpired in greater detail.
