this servicer should be shut down. facilities using this service are breaking people rights to see and be seen by their loved one. not only is it price gouging, these services literally virtually never work. the company is doing nothing knowing they are providing table, phone, and video services that dont work. i am on contact with my state rep maybe they will push the facility to go with another provider. I had to turn my wifi off JUST to login to the platform, we gave up trying to connect, its been an issue everyday with and its been over a month. its like the facitily is using this service knowing it doesnt work so that the inmates will stop getting family support or something i dont know but this is criminal

    Price GOUGING - MONOPOLY
Inmate Sales exploits a monopoly at ***** **** *********** by charging excessive prices for essential services. The company inflates costs with hidden taxes and outrageous fees, making simple communication with loved ones unaffordable. What should be a low-cost service—calls, video visits, or deposits—ends up costing families several times more due to unclear charges and processing fees.
This practice targets vulnerable families and inmates who have no choice but to use Inmate Sales. It resembles price gouging and may cross into illegal territory under consumer protection laws. The lack of competition allows the company to operate without accountability, putting profit over fairness and rehabilitation.
***** **** *********** must be held accountable for allowing this arrangement. Oversight is urgently needed to stop this exploitation.

Inmate sales offers a service. It is highly recommended that you read all the instructions I have used the service regularly the last few months and I have found that if you follow the instructions it works as well as can be expected. I too had a money transfer and my transfer went flawlessly the customer service rep that waited on me was helpful efficient and we finished it up in no time. Imagine the amount of individuals that are incarcerated and also remember that if you're in the county jail there is no guarantee you've been convicted of anything you just can't make bond so I can see where people feel like it's a extra punishment for the families. These are the options we have if we want to speak to our loved ones and we have to make the best situation out of it and hope that you're dealing with honest brokers. The prices are exorbitant outrageous and should be charged under the price gouging laws of each state. But, God bless the free market and they can pretty much charge I assume what they want when you're dealing with an institution. The only way to change what we families are paying is to go to the legislatures of the states and lobby for it to be changed. Good luck with that. I've noticed in the reviews that inmate sales makes an effort to respond to people's complaints which to me is a solid thing that they're doing. A lot of companies won't even respond to your complaints in writing in an email in a review or anywhere else so for that I'm appreciative. If you want change, you know the old saying, be the change. I've written my state legislature about the cost of local incarceration as it relates to the family. Because change will only come from that branch of government. They need to consider that a strong percentage of people in the county jail have not been convicted of anything and that should be considered when you are dealing with someone like inmate sales. Someone has to advocate for the those who have been convicted under our rule of law.

This service is awful. The fees are ridiculous. It’s almost like the families of those incarcerated are the one’s that are punished. It’s asinine that this is allowed. To add $15 for chirps, they charge a $6.20 fee. If you add more money, the fees just go up. The chirping messages only work sometimes and there’s no way to know if the message goes through or not. Am I charged for the chirps that don’t go through? They don’t give a balance on the account as far as how many chirps are left or how much it is to even send one. Out of all the services I’ve used, this is by far the worst and most expensive and I don’t have another choice but to use this service because this is the one the facility chose. If I could give this app zero stars I would.

when using the phone services they have a voice message that interrupts the 15 minute phone call TWO different times and its takes away time from the phone call that cost over 3 dollars for 15 minutes (13 with the 2 interruptions) not to mention it takes 3 minutes of the automated message at the beginning of the call to even get connected.

Thank you for the opportunity to address this customer's issue. We are contractually required to play the announcement at the beginning of each call as well as the notifications during the call. The customer is not charged for the time that these recordings use. It is built into the system to stop charging during those times.

Calls always drop. The prices are insanely ridiculously high, that it should be illegal. Shouldn't have to pay for calls and they constantly drop in the middle of talking or wtf ever. It's messed up. As if our situation wasn't already hard. SMH

Just awful! Had to call customer support 3 times and still couldn't schedule a visit. Finally insisted that they walk me through the process of video visitation. Got a visit approved and scheduled but when I tried to utilize the app I got an error msg saying I needed to accept all permissions. But no option to do or any other instruction.
Called customer service about this and they told me the video visitation dept was closed at 9pm. Customer service however was open until midnight. But no one knew anything that would help me. They didn't know if I would be charged for the visit even though i didn't receive that service.
I tried on chrome and also the app. I think this is a disgusting way to make money off of inmates families who have committed no crime. It's been proven that inmates whos families have frequent contact with them are less likely to reoffend but jail policies and companies like this don't care. It should honestly be illegal.

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced. Please call our Video Visit Department 866-340-7879 during business hours to receive assistance. We only charge for visits that actually happen so if you did not have a visit you should not be charged. Unfortunately, the Customer Service department is not familiar with Video Visits so would not be able to assist.
