On 7/30/22 one of Lindstrom Air Conditioning technicians came to my home in ****** to diagnose/repair a thermostat issue with my ** unit. When he had completed the job he informed my son that he cleared the vertical drain line and the cost was $180.00. My son then called me in ************* where I was vacationing and had me speak with the technician. I informed him that as per enclosed invoice # ********* that I had already paid for two maintenance visits on February 14th, 2022 valued at $224.00 and I wasnt going to pay the $180.00 charge. At this time he became belligerent and started yelling at me and my son and he was asked to leave the premises. My son informed me that he went outside to the ** unit and angrily got his tools then left. I returned to ****** on Tuesday August 2, 2022 and soon thereafter the water pipe on the side of my house near the ** unit fractured and water was spurting all over and the house valve was inoperable-the water had to be turned off by the ground valve in the meter hole in the front of my house. The house was built in **** and I have been living in it since **** ******************************************************************** 17 years but now had one two days after the irate technician was asked to leave my house. The cost to repair the pipe was $774.00 as per enclosed invoices from West End Plumbing.A lady from their office called me asking for $165.75 for the July 30th, 2022 service call telling me parts/labor have a 90 day warranty so would not be covered. As you can see from your enclosed invoice there is ABSOLUTELY NO REFERENCE ANYWHERE REGARDING A 90 DAY WARRANTY. In fact it is not stated anywhere on their invoice that the maintenance visits need to be staggered 6 months apart. Notwithstanding $774 in plumbing costs, at the very least I should have a $58.25 credit balance with Lindstrom: $224.00 pre-paid annual residential ** membership less $165.75. The company referred the $165.75 to a collection agency.Business Response

LINDSTROM CLEANED THE ** DRAIN LINE IN MAY AND CHARGED ME $175 FOR WORK THAT WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE. THIS POORLY DONE WORK RESULTED IN ** SHUT OFF ON AUGUST 3, BECAUSE OF INCOMPLETE LINE CLEANING AND DRAIN B**KUP I PUT A QUARTER OF A CUP OF VINEGAR THRU THE DRAIN LINE AND THE ** WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. . ON AUGUST 4, I CALLED LINDSTROM TO CORRECT THE IMPROPERLY DONE ** DRAIN LINE CLEANING AND WAS TOLD SERVICE WILL BE PROVIDED SATURADAY 12 5 PM INSTEAD OF SAME DAY SERVICE. I CALLED TO COMPLAIN TO THE ** MANAGER *** WHO DID NOT RETURN MY CALL. ON SATURDAY THE **** DID THE *** RIGHT, WHICH INCLUDED WHAT THE FIRST SERVICE, DID NOT INCLUDE: AIR FLUSH, RAN A GALLON OF WATER THRU THE LINE AND DRAIN CLEANER. HE WAS THERE FAR LONGER THEN THE OTHER **** WHO WAS THERE FOR 16 MINUTES. HE TOLD ME, THEY SEND ME OUT TO DO THE WORK THAT IS DONE WRONG BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO COME B**K! I DID NOT PAY $175 TO HAVE TO SIT HOME A WHOLE AFTERNOON TO REDO LINDSTROMS FAULTY WORK AND HAVE A UNIT THATS NOT WORKING PROPERLY FOR TWO DAYS. FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE I WANT A FULL REFUND. THIS UNIT WAS ALSO PURCHASED AND INSTALLED BY LINDSTROM IMPROPERLY AS WELL. THE HANDLER WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE **** **CORDING TO CARRIER SPECIFICATIONS, WHICH CAUSED MOLD BUILD UP. SINCE LINDSTROM DID NOT WANT TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER AND IS AN AUTHORIZED CARRIER INSTALLER I CALLED THE CARRIER CEOS OFFICE WHO CONT**TED LINDSTROM AND TOLD THEM TO PERFORM CARRIER TESTS. THIS WAS NECESSARY FIND OUT HOW TO INSTALL IT CORRECTLY SINCE LINDSTROM DID NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO SO. THESE TESTS TOOK 10 HOURS OVER TWO DAYS WHICH ALSO INCONVENIENCED ME. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me in regard to receiving a full refund for work that had to be done twice. However, there are some ac tech's that are not up to the job and do incorrect work which I discussed the with the ** Mgr. This is the problem that needs to be resolved for the long-term

Lindstrom told us that a repair to our ** would be $658.75, which we signed for. Tech came out the day of the repair and said it would be $1300. After many calls back and forth to their office, threats by Lindstrom to remove the parts installed leaving us with no **, they agreed to take a check for the original amount we agreed to of $658.75. Four days later, the ** was not cooling properly, again. Tech came out the next day and diagnosed problem as clogged drain line. When the water backed up to the kill switch the ** would shut off and then turn back on when the water drained out, which was happening originally.I wonder if that was the problem all along and we never needed the parts they suggested, the cost of a repair that was twice as much as originally quoted and a threat of taking the ** away from an elderly couple, one who is battling cancer, during the hottest part of summer. I guess we will never know for sure!!!Business Response

Home Damage 8/1/22 We hired Lindstrom to clean out the inside and outside AC coils, the tech arrived on 8/1/22 to do the work which totaled $1653.20. While cleaning the outside coil, he noticed water and dirt going under the door of my home office. He claimed to have knocked on my office window, but then continued working. When I entered my office after preparing myself lunch, I found standing water covering a significant portion of my laminate floor. After vacuuming water, pulling up rugs, and removing furniture it was clear that water had seeped between the boards and damaged the floor. My wife called Lindstrom multiple times on 8/1 requesting someone reach out to her about the floor. She was told each time that they were very busy, but that someone should contact her. No one responded. The next day she went to the Lindstrom offices to enquire about the floor. She was told that they needed someone to confirm the damage. On 8/3/22 a Lindstrom employee arrived to confirm damage and damage was confirmed. Later that ************** from Lindstrom called and asked for original receipts of the floor installation. I sent in a written estimate for removal and replacement of the damaged floor (approximately $1000 for the 120sf floor). Bud called me back admonishing me that I had not sent him what he asked for. I informed Bud, that I sent him a written estimate for the floor repair, as that was what was needed, a full repair. Bud insisted that the estimate was not what he wanted and accused me of wanting to play "hard ball". I took great offense to this as my home was damaged, and I expected a discussion of the estimate and simple restitution. It seems a shame that such a simple claim is being mismanaged due to Bud's refusal to discuss my written estimate with no further communication on his part. As of 8/11/22, multiple attempts have been made to resolve the issue with Lindstrom. No offer for restitution in whole or in part has been made.Business Response

My builder hired Lindstrom to install two AC units in my new construction home. They are less than 5 years old and are still under Lindstroms parts warranty. I also have a maintenance membership plan with them. My AC units were serviced under the maintenance plan in March before both of them stopped cooling in June. It took them almost 2 weeks to fix one the upstairs units due to needing to order a coil part. For the main floor AC, they only added *****. I had to file a BBB complaint because of the delay and not hearing back from their customer service supervisor, *****. Well, 6 weeks later, the main floor AC breaks again and is not cooling. The tech came by today and told me the line was clogged, and that I would have to pay to unclog it. But they just came in June and one of my ACs broke again. I do not feel I should pay for this service because I had called them in June for the same problem, and their techs didn't address/troubleshoot the issue completely. What is the point of the maintenance plan if the units are clogging prematurely? And I asked to speak to ***** two days ago, and of course he did not reach out or call me back. This is the only company I've dealt with where a customer supervisor is not responsive/available.Business Response
