Be careful and watch for the fine print when billed. I bought Wine with "FREE SHIPPING". The Wine was shipped and received via *****. I checked my credit card charge and they in fact billed me $19.99 for shipping. After 6 mind numbing emails and a call to their call center, they read me a series of obvious scripts essentially doing nothing. They couldn't or wouldn't remove the shipping fee. I would have to bring the wine to ***** to ship back and then get a refund. Seemed very much like a soft SCAM . . . buyer beware.

On April 2, 2025 I placed an order which included a $50 eGift Card. On Monday April 7, 2025 I received my shipment minus the eGift Card, so I called customer service. I was told that I would receive an email about the gift card in 7-9 days from the date of the order. After not receiving the email I called customer service again on Monday April 14, 2025 to ask about the missing gift card and was told to call back on Wednesday. On Thursday April 17, ********************************************************************* to expect the eGift card by the end of the month. It is now the end of the month and Ive yet to receive said ***** card. My online account reflects that no gift cards are available on my account. I authored an email inquiry and I'm now being told to wait an additional 4-6 weeks and the card has several purchase exemptions making it worthless. I do not recommend doing business with this wine club as this is not the first time I've received inaccurate and conflicting info from their customer service ***s

Hi *****, thank you for letting us know. We apologize for the poor experience, and would like to help.

We can confirm that your order did qualify for the $50 eGift card promotion, and that the $50 eGift card will be sent to the email address associated with your account on or before May 19th, 2025, as stated in the original promotion sent to you. There were other, similar promotions available at the same time, and this may have caused some confusion regarding the timeframe for yours to be sent - we are sorry for the inconsistent communication and any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Regarding the restrictions on the eGift card, don't worry! This can be applied to any new one-time order placed via our website. It cannot be used to enroll in a new wine club membership or reserve a pre-sale item - basically anything where an additional payment would be due later, due to limitations on future payment requirements. We hope this helps, and someone will be reaching to to you by phone shortly to confirm.

I keep getting billed 4 1/2 months after the check was received by ***. Repeated attempts to resolve this by phone has amounted to nothing. What a terrible way to keep a customer happy. Every time I get another invoice that was paid months ago I will do just wat I have been doing- throw it away.

Hi *******, thanks for reaching out and letting us know.

Upon review of your account, we see that you received a regular wine club delivery in October 2024, followed by your special winter holiday delivery in November of 2024. ***** tracking shows both orders were delivered and signed for. The payment we received and applied in December 2024 was applied to the balance owed for the October 2024 order, leaving the November 2024 holiday order still pending. We apologize for any confusion, and that this was not adequately explained at the time you contacted us.

Someone will be reaching out to you soon by phone to confirm and assist you with any additional questions. In the meantime, you can contact us by email at ****************************************** or by phone at ************.

      Cheers,

      Customer Service

This company is terrible. Their fulfilment and shipping system requires the customer to stay home all day while ***** decides if they will deliver at any reasonable hour. *** is just a front for other wine merchants that sell junk wine. **************** is also terrible. don't spend your money on this shoddy club and don't join. It's a bad investment.

Hi ****, thanks for reaching out. We apologize for the poor delivery experience, and will be contacting you shortly for additional information so we can follow up with ***** as well as internally. We would also like to clarify that the requirement for an adult signature on wine deliveries is a requirement of federal alcohol law rather than a company policy. We hope this helps!

I tried to order a wine advent calendar and gave a $25 deposit in early November. Towards the end of the month, I tried online to check the status of my order without luck. Once I called, they charged me for the rest and then cancelled my order a few days later. They now refuse to refund me even the deposit. What a scam!

Hi *******, thanks for reaching out! We apologize for the confusion and the poor experience - your deposit was paid after this pre-order item's shipping date, and there was not sufficient stock to fulfill your order. We have refunded the initial deposit in full as well as the order total - you should see both reflected within 3-5 business days.

I received an offer from the WSJ Wine Club in the mail. I tried to sign up but when I hit the "place order," a page came up stating that since I lived in Iowa, my choice of wines would be limited. When I clicked on the link to look at these choices, I was sent back to the original offer page. I filled out the form three times, and each time I received the same Iowa message, which resulted in me circling back to the original page. I gave up and decided to call the phone number listed on the offer. The customer service representative asked for the code on the offer. She said it would be a combination of letters and numbers. I told her there was no code. She insisted that there was. I read every single word and number on the offer page back to her. It took about 5 minutes. I told her, "I have read every word and number on the offer page and there is no code." She told me that I would be unable to order because of that. I asked to speak to her manager. She said I would need a wine club account to do that and since I didn't have one, I could not speak to the manager. I went to this complaint site and see multiple complaints about the outsourcing of the wine club. I will give up. The WSJ Wine Club used to have a good reputation. In trying to become more cost effective, it apparently has contracted with folks who are destroying that reputation.

Check Better Business Bureau Complaints Before You Join The customer service provided for WSJ Wine, managed by Direct **********, is out of the ******************. It'd been six days of a circus circle game, and it's not over yet. Do not believe what the man says as you are waiting for customer service to take your call.... please remember you can... manage your wine club online at **************************. You cannot. Wine mistakenly gets shipped even after you have cancelled your wine club. The 16-Year Anniversary Special Offers are not so sweet when website and customer service snafus insidiously s**** up orders. There is no customer service orientation, just a script that offers no solace if you're the customer. It's a black hole, and I wish I had googled the complaints registered at the Better Business Bureau before I took the dive. The experiences chronicled there never end. You have just entered The Twilight Zone....

Top Quality wines for an average price is what you are getting from great places you nostalgically missed and enjoyed while traveling! ******* marketing at its finest! **************** is just a miss otherwise would have stayed with them! Emails are useless and they did not respond after double checking the emails! Once they figure that out they will grow more!
