Wolff Roofing Company LLC, contact me to inquire about me needing any roof work. The job was accepted I did sign the contract. That was on June 7th 2024. The claims didn't get approved until June 24th. I asked for Wolf Roofing estimate I didn't get that, I did get the estimate from my insurance company. Wolf Roofing piggyback off of their (insurance) estimate to use what they estimated the roof to be cost wise. The claims department sent them a check. **** ******* called from Wolff roofing and said they needed another check in order to order the material. The claims department sent another check. Ms ******* never requested a certain amount. A 2nd claims check was sent to them out to Wolff Roofing Company. Now all of a sudden they want more money plus my deductible in order to start the work. The insurance company didn't send them no more money so they decided not to do it until they got more money, but they had already got what they asked for. So they forfeit that contract I canceled the contract after the fact now wolf roofing won't lead to pay them $5,410.98, plus dollars plus 1.5 interest on materials they did not order job that did not do no date was set bad business now you want the customer to pay you all this money for something that you didn't even do. You didn't even start all because you wanted more money from the insurance company. The money from the insurance claim was solid
I wanted Wolff Roofing LLC to go ahead and do the job. ****** **** is the salesman that was handling my contract. He is the one I reached out to. Mr. **** said Wolff Roofing LLC does not want to do the work now. So I reached back out and said I have a new roofing company to do the job. I would like for this to be resolved, although Wolff Roofing LLC did not do any work or ordered any material for this job. Therefore I feel I should not have to pay any money. Being they said they could not order anything without the whole check of $9731.53 plus my $2500.00 deductible. Wolff Roofing, LLC ******* ******** ask for more money from ******** and they sent it to them. Yet they still say they need more money. Please help me with they situation, I can't move forward with another Roofing Company til this is resolved.
Thank youBusiness Response

Re: Better Business Complaint property address **************************************
****,
It saddens us to receive a review like this simply because you did not want to pay your insurance deductible.
When you have an insurance claim on your property, you are required by Florida State Law to pay your deductible
per 2024 Florida Statutes. This is not a Wolff Roofing rule, but a rule Wolff Roofing is legally held to uphold. As a recap of the facts of your contract, you signed a contract on 7/8/24 to have your roof replaced through Wolff Roofing
in conjunction with **************** From that moment forward, multiple employees in our insurance, bookkeeping, and
production departments worked with both *************** and Pennymac Mtg in addition to product manufacturers, to
align the timing, payments and materials needed to roof your home.Per our contract and in conjunction with ***************, your obligation was to write a check to Wolff Roofing for your
deductible amount and *************** would initialize checks for payment that would first go to Pennymac and then
onward to Wolff Roofing. As you are aware, Pennymac received a partial check from *************** of which Pennymac
only distributed a less than minimum payment due to begin the job, to Wolff Roofing. You were notified of that as well as
being reminded that your deductible was due before any repair would start. Our office reached out to *************** to
get an additional payment to reach the amounts due per your contract to begin work once the deductible was received.Another check was received by Pennymac, but still no deductible was received by you. Multiple attempts to collect
your deductible took place with which you responded with an mail to cancel our contract on August 2,2024.Per our contract, if you choose to cancel your contract after the 3 day right to recision, you will then owe a percentage
of the contract to reimburse the office for all of the work each employee has done up to that date. It doesnt matter that
no materials were ordered- There was a multitude of work that took place over the month before you decided you
were not going to pay your deductible, therefore you are required to pay the fee as spelled out in your contract. This is standard business practice for any roofing contractor...this is not bad business. We are regulated by laws we
must follow, as you are. When you choose to break the law and not pay a deductible and you choose to fail to pay a
contract that you signed, full well knowing these are the consequences of you changing your mind, that does not at all
reflect on the good business done with thousands of clients over the years who choose to adhere to the contract they signed.Although in this complaint you are asking the Better Business Bureau to help you, there is nothing they can do. But you,
on the other hand, can complete your obligation to the contract you signed and we will release you from that contract.
You have a balance due to Wolff Roofing and Small Claims Court will be in touch with you if your balance is not paid promptly.Wolff Roofing, LLC

on Feb 2021- I hired Wolff roofing to repair and seal my entire roof with tropical 924 sealant . Their agent **** was shown the bubbling in 2 distinct areas of my roof that span a master bedroom causing leaks in the ceiling. I enter into a contract to repair and seal my roof and have a leak warranty good for twenty years all for ******. Within months the bubbles reappeared in the roofing membrane. Repeated calls to Wolff agent ************** was told that the roof they did was not able to withstand walking on it.Strange since there are 4 airconditioners on my roof with a walkway in gray to show the way for servicemen. I called tropical to ask about walking on the roof and to get them to enforce the 20-year warranty described in the contract. I was told Wolff never put in the request for the warranty or payment that is required by them for the 20-year warranty. They also said of course you can walk on it 924 is used all over the country and people walk on it all the time. After several more weeks I finally had Wolff come to look at the roof. It was clear the coating was peeling off the deck and they agreed to fix it. When their repairman ******** came I was told they would need 950 dollars more to recoat and repair the leaking into my ceiling. Plus the wall cap would need replacing for approx **** dollars.I agreed but demanded the 20-year warranty came with it-not knowing all this should have been covered by the initial contract would be glad to pay the 950 dollars if they finally would repair leaking areas and give me the 20-year warranty on leaks.Business Response

**************,
We have provided all services we contracted for and more. We have not been paid by you for the balance that you owe. In you comment you reference that the surface is coated with a non walkable product. This is not accurate. The product can handle being walked. But just like any silicone roof coating it is not designed to take heavy abuse from items like tables and chairs. The roofing company you had perform a roof coating prior to our roof coating application clearly ran into the same issue with bubbling as that was part of why we were called to install the coating originally. There was many conditions of your older wood framed home that contributed to water intrusion. We on several occasion recorded and documented the poor condition of your roof to wall connections ( which allowed continuous water to make its way beneath parts of the roof surface). That is what forms blistering and bubbling in the coating. The manufacturer came out to your home on several occasions and documented these same conditions. Due to the poor conditions surrounding the roof coating, the manufacturer has stated the proper maintenance on the home did not take place (creating blistering) and would result in the voiding of any warranty. It is not Wolff's responsibility to maintain items in your home outside of our contracted installation. We went beyond our scope of work for you and we have still not been paid what is rightfully owed. We would be more than happy to provide imagery and documentation proving the conditions you experienced.

I am rejecting this response because:Please read your own contract attached.
You were hired to fix roof and provide 20 year warranty
Roof is not fixed and I do not have 20 year warranty.
Please remedy or return my payment .
Sincerely,

Once again, please refer to the prior response. Read your signed contract. You have neglected to maintain your home in many different areas which was confirmed by the manufacturer and general contractor on multiple occasions. The water intrusion/moisture creating your roofing problem all originated from items that do NOT pertain to the roof. That is your responsibility as the owner of the home to maintain the property. Not the manufacturers or ours. And once again, we went over the top for you and you are still refusing to pay your bill. Perhaps with the documentation we have and the manufacturers statements and photographs we would be best off allowing legal council to decide who is in the wrong? It seems to ** you know the truth but just refuse to pay what is due for work completed. We are all about being fair and taking care of our clients, but you are being beyond unreasonable.Initial Complaint

After Hurricane ***, I reached out to Wolff Roofing company to fix a section of my townhouses roof that had shingles missing. I spoke to ***** who explained that he would have crews out to make repairs, but first needed payment and a contract to be signed. The contract and explanation was that repairs would be up to 100sqft for damages for $1,400 of which I agreed to pay. The crews came out as agreed and as I was up on the roof, their crew members asked where the damage was. My roof adjoins the next townhouses roof. The crew members super stated they could fix that section. I called my neighbors and they agreed to have them fix their small sections as well. The total square footage of repairs never extended past 100sqft. Later on, I get a very angry phone call from ***** who states that he is asking for more money as theres a liability for him performing the repairs on my neighbors roof. He then sends me an invoice for $3200. Which makes no sense! They were not additional repairs requested by me, rather his workers suggested and repairs were made. I should not have to pay this extra $3,200 and I think this is a scam. Respectfully ***************************
