On June 6 I paid a $3650 deposit for a lanai, pavers and screened enclosure project that was supposed to be completed in July. The company kept giving me the run around, not responding for days/weeks sometimes and never following up until I was hounding them about this. They agreed to refund me or have the permit in hand by October 10. It's now November 6 and I was again getting radio silence, no response from them. I posted a ****** review describing my experience with them. Within minutes I started receiving responses from them. They agreed to refund my money today. Then couldn't use Venmo bc she didn't have enough money, then zelle had a limit (venmo can take an immediate transfer and you can call the bank to increase zelle so neither of these excuses are valid either). Then she said she would only refund half of my money, and after I deleted the ****** review she would refund the other half. I said I would update my review after they refunded me. She then said in a ****** response that they had their ex-contractor submit the permit application. They don't have a license to do the type of construction work building the footers required to support a lanai cage and tried to have a friend submit it for them.

    Business Response

We are a family business that works hard to earn our clients and good reviews. We started working for his husband ***** ****** in July, we did all the exterior painting of her house with quality and also built a front porch as requested, she gave us a deposit of $8,000 for this and to start building the cage. As agreed, we filed the permit and unfortunately our former GC who was going to sign the permit placed the permit in the city and not in the county, we had to redo everything again in September and with the hurricane in October everything was delayed. The 10 day deadline that the client said is not true, permits can vary and can take longer than that, from days to months. The client contacted me several times and we always responded to her messages. In addition, our first contact and the person who hired us was initially her husband ***** ****** thats why we didnt talk with her since the agreement. Last week we told her that we would start the paver part if possible, but to do the footer we have to have the permit. We have always been honest with her, we have always told the truth about everything we went through with our former GC and we have all the proof about it. The client did not want to continue with the work and requested a refund, and so we did as agreed today and asked her to delete the review, which she did not want to do. She updated the review several times with bad intentions. We hope to resolve our problems with clients personally (by text, email or in person) and not in public, as this client did. For our clients and future clients, we hope that they take into consideration 8 years of business valuing quality, communication and transparency. We do not treat any client with malice or disrespect, and we even SCAM CUSTOMERS. We are not that kind of company.

Uptade: We never contacted her ex husband after all this and and we have proofs of that. All our invoices is with the following information: we are a insured company and all our permits are signed by a general contractor in a partnership. She doesnt have it on her invoice because we did other jobs for her. The ** is not our friend we have a partnership with him. Again, we never lied for our clients we always tell them the truth and with transparency.

I am rejecting this response because:

The company repeatedly ignored phone calls and text messages from myself and from ***** ****** (the husband) or they would fail to respond for days, and then the response they'd give us would tell us that they'd be following up and get back to us but they never got back to us. Both of us have extensive text message records showing that we'd reach out, they'd delay to respond for days and their response would ask us to give them more time and then they'd never follow back up with us. It had been 5 months and 1 day of this.

I was the primary point of contact. I signed the contract with the company. I paid the $8000 deposit from my ***** account (not a joint account) I have text messages with the company going back to July when they first started the house painting part of the bid.

I tried to resolve this with them directly multiple times. The owner was ignoring my text messages for days so I posted a ****** review reciting my experience with them. She IMMEDIATELY texted me. She then repeatedly DEMANDED that I delete the ****** review. She texted me over 26 times in a 4 hour period trying to get me to delete the ****** post. So she definitely had access to texting and response to me, yet ignored me until I made the ****** review.

It has also become clear to me that they do not have a license to do the work that they bid to do for us, and that was part of the reason they caused this extensive delay. They had to get a friend (their ex-GC) to submit a permit application even though he no longer works with them. I had already had the site plan drawn and told them where to file the permit. They somehow botched this and we repeatedly reached out telling them that it was taking way too long to get the permit. Months went by.

I had hired this company because they said they'd be doing the lanai/pavers/screened enclosure in July, sooner than the alternative companies who were booked out until September. I needed this lanai and enclosure fast.

Even prior to hurricane ****** I reached out to this company and asked them to just refund my deposit for this project so I could go somewhere else. They begged me to give them just another week. So I did. Now everybody in a 3 county radius needs a screen cage rebuilt and repaired so I now have to wait extensively longer than I would have if a) they had been honest about not having a license and not being able to do this project from the beginning or b) just refunded me the week before Hurricane ****** so I could have been at the front of the line for a lanai and cage rather than the back end of what has gone from a 3 month wait to an 8 month wait. This company caused me considerable loss and harm, held my deposit for a project that they were unable to do and then repeatedly ignored our efforts to contact them and resolve this issue.

In fact, the days that lead up to me making a ****** review I had reached out 3 times by text. The company failed to respond. I posted the ****** review and within minutes they started texting me. My response was "Now you respond?"

The company was very demanding, and threatening to unlawfully withhold my deposit until I deleted the ****** review. They then contacted me 26 additional times in a 4 hour period demanding that I remove the review. They then contacted my husband in an effort to get him to make me remove the review. I was initially confused about how my experience with this company could be so horrible when they had so many positive ****** reviews. I now realize that they threaten and intimidate people to try to force them to remove negative yet honest and factual reviews.

Threatening to unlawfully withhold a deposit that they'd already agreed twice to refund me unless I deleted a factual ****** review in unconscionable behavior. Bidding to do work that they do not have a license to do and dragging clients along for 5 months with zero movement on a project due to that is also horrible and in this case has forced me to be contracting with another company immediately after hurricane ****** caused extensive delays rather than contracting with that other company back in June and getting this project done in September of 2024. I have already contracted with another company and the delay will likely be July of 2025! An entire year after this company was supposed to have done the project.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******

    I received a refund of $3650.

The company demanded that I delete my factual ****** review in exchange for this refund. I did not agree to that. They then tried to intimidate me and force me to remove it. They have caused me additional expense, contracting with another company more than 5 months later when material costs have increased and rather than having this project completed by the alternative company in September 2024 the wait time now pushes out to July of 2025. (I had previous bid from this other company and the cost was lower and they project could have been done by that company in September 2024 if Classic Rescreening had not mislead me to believe that they were qualified and able to complete this project in July of 2024.

On March 2, 2021 Classic Rescreening replaced our old lanai framing and screening with a new frame and screening. This is entirely within the footprint of our house and roof. There are no free-standing, exposed members. The cost of the work was $3000.00. The work contract we have with them says, All our services with 3 year warranty. Hurricane *** occurred approximately 18 months later, within the covered warranty period. The damage occurred at 7:00 AM on Thursday morning of the hurricane. The east facing wall of the lanai frame and screen blew in, detaching itself from the wall of the lanai, and resting on the paver floor. We immediately texted Classic Rescreening and were texted back that they would inspect the damage the following Monday, , 10/03/22. We texted them throughout that day; they never came to our property, but instead texted us back that they might be able to see us some time in January. They also claimed the warranty doesnt include hurricane damage. The only printed warranty they gave us was the sales agreement that boasts of the 3-year warranty, and includes no exclusions. They texted us that they told us of the hurricane exclusion, but that is false. I texted them that we have been harmed by the failure of the frame and screen, and they needed to repair the damage in a reasonable timeframe before they proceeded with new work and new contracts; that new installations could understand why they would have to be postponed a week or so while they address damaged properties covered by their warranties. They have failed to respond to any more of our phone calls, texts, or emails. We are left with the damage, and an unusable lanai.***** and ***********************

Hello, we really apologize about what happened but we always let our customers know about what is not included in our warranty and we never covered hurricane and animals. We always let our customers know when we make the estimates (paper estimates or email estimates) and when we close the job. We cannot be held responsible for damage caused by nature such as a hurricane. If the problem had happened because of poor workmanship or the malfunction of our materials, we would certainly repair it.
