I am filing this complaint due to CMK Construction, Inc.'s refusal to honor their warranty on faulty flooring ******************* of response after repeated attempts to resolve the issue. The flooring in my house was installed by a *** subcontractor in April 2024. Since the floors had significant buckling due to insufficient expansion gaps against ***************** creating dangerous tripping hazards.Original installation occurred during a period of significant project mismanagement, including my project manager going incommunicado & was completed while I was on vacation. Upon my return, I discovered not only the flooring issues but also other deficiencies, like wall dents, an improperly installed backsplash, & countertops installed over a broken cabinet. On 4/11/25, a *** contractor attempted a repair by gluing down boards, which I expressed concerns as it is a floating floor. By 4/14/25, the repair had failed, leading to new buckling. On 4/22/25, CMK's employee (*****) inspected the flooring, acknowledging issues with the original installation, including an improperly leveled subfloor & insufficient expansion gaps. He stated *** would remove the flooring & baseboards, level the subfloor, & replace damaged flooring. On 5/12/25, another CMKs employee, ****, assessed the floors, confirming further deterioration & estimating that at least 850 square feet would need ********************** However, on 5/15/25, CMK, for the first time, stated the warranty for **** installation services was voided because I purchased the flooring directly. This was delivered by the warranty contact I have been given at ***, ********. This is unacceptable. I purchased the flooring independently to mitigate unexpected cost increases due to CMK's initial errors in the project bid. *** actively encouraged me to allow them to do the installation, but at no point was it communicated that purchasing the flooring separately would void the installation warranty. This is unacceptable.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The warranty change regarding the items sourcing during the desgin process was absolutely not communicated verbally in any way and I strongly reject any statement of the sort. This enterily disregards the damage that CMK construction caused to my floors in what they are now calling a "courtesy repair". This language was never utilized until this repsone in June. Never until this June reply did CMK indicate in any manner that this repair was a "goodwill gesture" and that it was being done outside the socpe of the warranty. The lack of warranty issue was not raised until after I noted that ***'s "rapair" damaged my floors and requested that it be remided. *** is attempting to doge fixing the damage they caused to my flooring during the repair process.
This also fails to address the issues where CMK's designers pressured me into leaving hte flooring installation with CMK after I expressed hesitation on this issue without addressing that there would be no warranty to ***'s work. This is continued bait and switch mentaility that was utlized throughout this process.

We understand your frustration and want to clarify our position based on the terms outlined in your signed agreement. As stated in the contractof which you have a copythe following clause applies:
CMK CANNOT WARRANTY INSTALLATION OF OWNER-PROCURED FINISHES.
This clause was included to ensure transparency from the beginning regarding materials not sourced directly through ***. Because the flooring in question was owner-provided, *** cannot extend warranty coverage for its installation, including any issues that may arise during or after related work.
In regard to the repair that was conducted, it was done as a courtesydespite there being no obligation under the contract to perform that service. At the time, this was done in good faith to assist you, and we regret that you feel differently about the process or outcome. While the terminology of "courtesy" may not have been used explicitly prior to our June communication, the contractual terms regarding warranty coverage have remained consistent.
Regarding concerns of pressure during the design phase: our intention is never to pressure customers but to guide them based on our professional experience and what we believe will result in the best long-term outcome. We apologize if this experience felt otherwise.Initial Complaint

This company is an absolute scam, unprofessional and **** off. We signed a contract to *************** and floors 1 year ago. They promised so much and after signing the contract and collecting the 1st payment, suddenly all what was promised and discussed was extra!!! We had to pay 10,000$ more. We couldn't cancel otherwise we would have lost the money of the 1st payment, so they obliged us to pay that extra money. That's an extortion. They promised that the work will be completed in 1 month. It's been almost 1 year now and they haven't finished the job!!! We got very sick from all the dust of removing the floors. We couldn't breath. We had to sleep on concrete floor with all dust. They break our dishwasher, scratched our walls and are refusing to fix it. We are going to sue this company!!!! This company is a **** off. Their license should be revoked to avoid scamming other people.Business Response

We are extremely disappointed by the content of your BBB complaint, which includes multiple false claims and a gross misrepresentation of the facts surrounding your project.
Your remodel began on February 10 and was substantially completed by April 25five weeks ahead of the 1416 week timeframe clearly outlined and signed in your contract. At no point was a one-month completion ever promised, and we have signed documentation to confirm this.
Throughout the project, we encountered repeated delays due to your unresponsiveness, multiple design changes, and failure to provide timely approvals. On several occasions, our crews arrived on site as scheduled, only to be told within an hour that they needed to pack up and leave because you were leaving. These disruptions are not within our control and directly contributed to the timeline being extended.
Despite these challenges, our Project Manager remained professional and accommodating. However, when he attempted to conduct the final punch list and complete closeout paperwork the next morning, suddenly a list of erroneous and previously unmentioned items was presentedclearly an attempt to further stall the project and avoid closure.
Regarding the dishwasher, our crew did not uninstall or damage itwe simply slid it back into place after flooring work was completed. There is no record of any issues being reported with its function at the time of final install.
We have no record of formal complaints about appliance damage or wall issues submitted through any of our standard communication channels. At every phase, our team has acted in good faith and maintained open communication.
We stand behind the quality of our work and the professionalism of our team, particularly your Project Manager, who has gone above and beyond despite being treated disrespectfully and unreasonably throughout this process.
This complaint appears to be an attempt to discredit our company and leverage a false narrative in pursuit of an unjustified discount. We will not be pressured into concessions based on misrepresentations.
We consider this project complete and encourage you to contact our office if you wish to schedule a legitimate closeout. If false claims persist, we reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies.
Sincerely,

Hurricane ****** brought my huge Live Oak down and into my house causing significant roof and interior damage. After research I chose CMK Construction, Inc. to perform all the repairs. On Dec. 12, '24 I gave them (supposedly as a downpayment) $12,463 for interior repairs. However, the roof and roof frame needed major repairs before tha interior could start. The roof was completed in latter Jan., then *** kept delaying interior start all the while holding onto my $$. After some unpleasant exchanges, *** agreed to negate our contract and was to refund MOST of the $$. I still have not seen a *****. My repeated calls are being ignored. I have contacted the FL **************** have yet to hear back. I've called 8 On Your Side, nothing from them either. I think *** not returning my $$ is bordering on outright theft. I'm a 66 1?2 yr old single woman who has clearly been taken advantage of. Also, my homeowner's ins.. **** rejected ***'s quote citing the cost of their estimated repairs was double the industry standard. Also, the morning I got the rejection email from ****, *** sent a truck with approx. $700 of drywall and other materials, unloaded it into my garage before I could stop them and tell their boss that **** was not accepting their bid. No work AT ALL has been done by ***, only routine bids that are generally accepted as 'part of doing business'. There is much more and I have supporting documents to confirm what I just wrote. Dear Ms. ************ want to clarify that we do not agree with the statements in your complaint, as they do not accurately reflect the facts of this situation. A partial refund check was issued to you on February 26, 2025, prior to your complaint, and our records confirm that it has been received and cashed.
Additionally, CMK Construction did not delay the start of your project. The delays were caused by your own decisions and actions, not by ***. We were fully prepared to begin work and even delivered materials to start the project. However, you ultimately delayed the process, and in the end, due to ongoing difficulties in working together, we agreed to part ways.
As the partial refund has been processed and completed, we consider this matter resolved. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I hired CMK Construction in good faith, that 'faith' was shattered. I'll explain.. I have never hired a General Contractor for any reason in the 39 years I've owned this house as a single woman. During the extremely stressful and chaotic aftermath of Hurricane ****** bringing my VERY huge Granddaddy Live Oak down and INTO my house and being completely alone I was in a state of panic to get repairs started right away. While 'dealing' with the huge mess, and the unknowns that were ahead I managed to research and 'interview' various GCs. The other GCs were backed up several weeks and CMK insinuated they could get on the job much sooner and required 1/3 ($12,461.82) down, of the full amount of $34,000, which I gave them on Dec. 12, 2024. However at that moment I had no roof. The roof was finally completed the end of January 2025. During that whole time CMK had my $12,461 that was INTENDED for INTERIOR repairs. Then I waited for interior repairs to start, and I waited and waited...Then on or about Feb, 5 **************************************************************** **** could not justify payment for the $34K CMK was charging for the interior repairs. Please see attached. On that same morning that I received that email from **** I had arrived home from the hotel I had been vacating to nightly due to the uninhabital conditions in my home to find two work trucks waiting. I 'assumed' they were to start work right then even though I'd had no notice from CMK! In addition, *** had previously told me they insisted on ANOTHER $12,461, 1/3 of the total, just to START the work. BUT, as they were unloading drywall and other materials into my garage, I had opened my email to find the rejection letter, re. the *** estimate I had sent them, from ****. I then literally scurried out to tell the guys who were unloading the materials to STOP!! And I was LITERALLY waving my arms to STOP! None of them spoke English and did not heed my instruction. That was the point when things really started going south with this whole debacle. In short, CMK had my $12,461 from 12/12/24 until Feb. 27 while doing NO work. See attach. re. a text telling *****, ('project mgr') to come pick up the 'dumped' off materials or I would consider them abandoned, I got no response. I consider the charge of materials, and delivery of, acceptable. BUT, I priced the materials myself.. approx. $700 worth and with delivery MAYBE $300 totaling maybe $1000. Also, they dumped off materials that were NOT necessary for the job and that remain in my garage. I believe CMK owes me $1500 (out of the $2500 they unjustifiably KEPT) for work NOT performed. There was NO labor, only the usually accepted time invested as the normal cost of doing business. Also, I was under the impression that all work was going to be performed by *** employees, not sub-contractors (i.e. Best Value Roofing) which I came to find out was not at all affiliated with ***, even though I was led to believe it was. But my complaint is not with Best Value Roofing, it is with CMK which has lost all credibility with me and I feel other people should be aware of their questionable tactics so they don't have to go through what I've gone through. Though this is a lengthy rebuttal, I found it necessary to go into more detail. I demand CMK to return no less than $1500, which is generous of me considering I'm stuck with unusable materials, the added stress of fighting this AND the over 60 days and nights I've had to go back and forth with my dog to a hotel room..
Sincerely,
**** *****Initial Complaint

I hired *** for home renovations, about a third of project was installing ***** C131 solid hardwood throughout my home. They completed installation May 2024 and my warranty was good until May 2025. After hurricane ******, floors in front bedroom buckled. Teck *** sent to repair stated it was done incorrectly and they did not repair it. *** has to date not repaired flooring.*** sent email provided in attachment which includes specifications for an adhesive that was not used on my project. I requested at least three times via phone and/or email to speak with their upper management and they have not responded. When I called today, I felt PM yelled at me on the phone and was unprofessional. I have fallen on buckled floors and sprained my ankle. I had to get a corticosteroid shot and now have to wear a brace.I have had independent technician(s) give me estimate for repairing floor, who stated they could not repair it due to it being done incorrectly. After contacting manufacturers customer service below items were noted:-***** C131 is 3/4 solid hardwood. -CMK used ******* 1407 adhesive but it is not recommended for solid hardwood 3/4 (recommended for engineered hardwood no more than 1/2 or parquet) per manufacturers specifications.-A V notch trowel would be recommended for this installation, subcontractor used square notch trowel.Business Response

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the complaint regarding the flooring installation completed by CMK Construction in May 2024. We acknowledge the homeowner's concerns and would like to provide a detailed explanation of our position and the context surrounding this matter.
In May 2024, CMK Construction installed ***** C131 3/4 solid hardwood flooring in the homeowner's property. The installation was conducted under proper supervision, adhering to industry standards. For six months following the installation, the flooring was in stable condition, indicating that the materials and methods used during the installation initially performed as expected.
In October 2024, Hurricane ******, a historic and unprecedented weather event, impacted the region. The extreme moisture and environmental fluctuations caused by the hurricane introduced significant challenges. Additionally, a prolonged power outage in the aftermath of the storm prevented climate control systems from mitigating moisture buildup within the home.
This combination of elevated humidity and lack of air circulation likely resulted in moisture absorption by the wood, causing expansion and subsequent buckling. As a natural material, wood is particularly sensitive to environmental changes, and even properly installed flooring can be adversely affected under such extreme conditions.
These external environmental factors are beyond CMK Constructions control and fall outside the scope of standard warranties, which typically exclude damages resulting from natural disasters, flooding, or loss of climate control.
While ***** C131s manufacturer recommends mechanical fastening for 3/4" solid hardwood flooring, the product performed without issue for six months before the hurricane. This indicates that the materials and methods employed were not the primary cause of the flooring failure.
Both manufacturer and installation warranties typically exclude coverage for damage resulting from external events, including extreme weather and subsequent environmental factors. The excessive moisture and lack of climate control caused by Hurricane ****** and the associated power outage would void most flooring warranties, as the resulting damage is considered an environmental impact rather than an installation or material defect.
CMK Construction regrets the homeowner's experience and empathizes with the frustration caused by this situation. However, based on the following facts:
The flooring performed as expected for six months prior to the hurricane.
The extreme environmental conditions caused by Hurricane ****** and the associated power outage are the primary cause of the flooring issues.
These external factors void standard warranties and are beyond the installers or manufacturers control.
We are committed to assisting the homeowner in identifying potential steps for moisture mitigation and repair solutions. Should further clarification or information be required, we are available to provide additional details.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:CMK states that the damage to my floors occurred after six months. I did not have any flooding in my home and only lost power for a short time. It is normal for homes to occasionally lose power during a storm. It is not normal to have hardwood floors that buckle, for a company to not honor their warranty, or for other professionals to say that the prior job is irreparable.
My warranty was for one year, which they are refusing to honor even though the floors that they installed had major problems. Also, the concerns I raised in my initial complaint of them using ******* ******************************************* their response. I have had multiple professionals who I have had come out to give me estimates to repair the floor tell me that the job is irreparable.

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your concerns. We understand how frustrating and challenging this situation has been for you, and we deeply regret the difficulties you are experiencing with the flooring in your home.
As you mentioned, the flooring issues in your front bedroom occurred after Hurricane ******. We would like to address an important aspect of our warranty policy. Unfortunately, damages resulting from natural disasters, such as Hurricane ******, are not covered under the terms of the warranty provided for your flooring installation. This exclusion is standard in most warranty agreements, as natural disasters create conditions that are beyond the control of installation methods or materials used.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22526665
I am rejecting this response because:The floor issues were not from ****** that the glue never adhered to the floor from using an improper trowel with an improper glue. The floor buckled from humidity not from water damage. And other spots of the floor have also never adhered to the floor due to improper trowel used with improper glue.
Also, the gaps in the floor were due to improper installation, not from any natural disaster.
CMK is at fault but using Hurricane ****** to try and get out of their responsibility.

In August of 2023, we contracted CMK construction to repair a structural header in our ceiling, re- wire electric and remodel bathroom. We were provided an estimate of $25,000 in which we provided a $10,000 deposit that was paid on 8/23/23. We had no communication with CMK until March of 2024. 3/27/24: we had the framers, electrician, and plumbers arrive to our home. The framework and electric work were done incorrectly. 3/29/24: 2nd visit for framework was completed incorrectly again forcing us to have to support our ceiling with a wooden beam and ***** 4/18/24: *******, (CMK Manager) came to location to discuss problems with work. At that time, we questioned the estimate, requesting a break-down of services. ******* stated that they don't provide cost breakdowns and that CMK is in the business of making money. During this meeting, it was discovered that the original framers did not even look at the blueprints for the job. We canceled bathroom remodel and requested new estimate, which dropped to $21, 000. We were also told a more proficient framer would come out to reassess the job. 4/24/24, new framer arrived to reassess repair, questioned the new price quote. Stated that this job was not as expensive as previously estimated. 5/1 we had a separate contractor come to provide an estimate of the framework, which proved to be a significantly lower price. 5/6/24: new framers from CMK showed up to home without notice attempting to come in to begin the 3rd repair. We sent them away due to no relocation preparation or notification that they were coming. 5/21/24: We had a separate electrician come in to provide an estimate for the electric work, which proved to be a significantly lower price. We are requesting a refund of our $10,000 deposit due to price gauging and poor and unsafe quality of work.Business Response

When Mr. and *************** reached out to CMK regarding their project, we promptly dispatched a regional manager to address their concerns. We assured them that any issues would be rectified without incurring additional costs. Despite their inquiry about the contract price and request for line-item pricing, we clarified our pricing structure, which encompasses the total scope of work along with a markup for profit.
Throughout our interactions, the conversation remained respectful, and arrangements were made for a structural contractor to evaluate the project and schedule the installation of a new beam. In response to their request to exclude plumbing work from the contract, we provided an appropriate credit. However, a communication mishap occurred when our regional manager inadvertently texted the wrong ***** while attempting to confirm the start date.
Despite our repeated attempts to reschedule, there was a lack of response from the clients. It was later communicated that ************** was frequently out of town for work, leading to delays in scheduling. Subsequently, they began expressing dissatisfaction, citing lower estimates from other sources and demanding a full refund. However, it remained unclear whether these estimates included all necessary components such as materials and engineering services.
It's important to note that we have a contractual agreement and are committed to fulfilling our obligations. Our primary objective is to complete the project, but we require access to the property to do so. We remain open to resolving any outstanding issues and completing the work as agreed upon in our contract.

We would like to reject CMK constructions offer to come in to complete the proposed work. The reasonings for this rejection include a previous attempt to repair the first installation which was also performed incorrectly, the mandatory Electric work that must be completed in order to finish the support beam was left out in the original contract, causing an additional surcharge to complete the work, thus adding an unknown additional cost towards our final total, and an overall loss of confidence and trust with the quality of work that is performed by CMK construction.
The conversations with *******, the supervisor, although have been cordial, have been unprofessional and deeply concerning. During the initial installation of the support beam, the team was unable to begin the work because the wrong sized material was brought in. The framers had to go to ********** to purchase the correct sized lumber. This project had to be reviewed and planned out by an engineer that specified with drawn out blueprints that a specific beam would need to be used. This specific beam was not the material that was purchased from ********** that day, nor was the material correct the second time they arrived to repair the first mistake. When we initially questioned why the first team had to go to ********** to purchase supplies, *******, the supervisor, Stated, Lumber is lumber. It does not matter where it comes from. My husband, who works in the construction industry, disagreed, and explained to ******* that this support beam could not just be purchased at just any home improvement store. This is when we also discovered that the electric work was not included in our original price that was quoted, and that there will be additional charges that will accrue. We were taken back by this discovery because we spoke to multiple employees from CMK and explained thoroughly that the electric work must be completed at the same time the support beam was installed, due to the re-wiring needed to be ran through the new header. We now began to question the entire price quote at this time. We asked for an itemized listing of the cost of the work, which ******* explained to us that they do not provide that type of billing. When we expressed that we were under the impression that the electric was included with this estimate and that the price seemed too high, ******* stated, You have to understand, we are in the business of making money. After that statement was made, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of communication that CMK has with their clients, providing an example of my profession as a health care provider. I explained to *******, that if I communicated to my patients and medical colleagues in the manner that CMK communicated, people would die. ******* promptly stated that people dont die in construction. These egregious statements, along with waiting for over 6 months with no communication for work to be completed, only to be done incorrectly twice, and the omission of the electrical work in the original contract, demonstrates a complete lack of quality and safety that we are not comfortable with in proceeding with this company. It is also important to mention that multiple electricians have come into our home and provided us with written estimates that state the electric work that has been completed with CMK will not pass inspection. I did mention this concern to *******, to which he simply disagreed.******* did reach out and offer to cancel our contract and provide the materials that had been purchased in leu of providing us with our $10,000 deposit. I told him that I would speak to my husband (since he was out of town at that time), and we would reply. When I attempted to call him to decline this offer, he did not answer the phone. It is also pertinent to mention that we never initially demanded a full refund, we would have been satisfied with a restructure of the estimate. This came from the multiple other quotes from other construction companies that had given us significantly lower price quotes. The request for the refund only happened with my filing with the BBB. We are requesting a refund of our $10,000 deposit minus the $1500 engineering fee along with the permit fees of $425, for a total refund of $8075 to be returned to us and thus releasing CMK Construction of their contractual obligations.
Sincerely,

To our knowledge, there wasnt a change order for additional electrical work charged to the customer regarding the beam. ******* wasnt involved in the project until after the initial beam work and electrical work were completed. ******* stated that all visits were cordial and professional, and there was no issue until the additional work for the beam was mentioned to the customer.
Regarding ******** statement about the beam, it was taken out of context. It had already been determined that any repair work on the beam would be completed by CMK. The question about the lumber was asked well after the fact, and ******** response indicated that the source of the lumber didnt matter as long as it was constructed properly.
Regarding the electrical work, the customer didnt pay extra for it. They simply asked if we mark up electrical work. When ******* met with the customer, the meeting was light and there were laughs; again, statements were taken out of context.
The customer signed a document stating we were 8-10 weeks from starting. The delay in starting was due to permitting issues as the county had a different floor plan than what was actually at the customers home, and then additional work discovered when the walls were opened, . From the moment ******* got involved, we immediately started trying to expedite the process. Everything was going well until the customer called, removed the plumbing scope, and asked for a credit, which we provided. Then, suddenly, CMK became a problem as they claimed they could complete the project for less, leading to the current situation.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because regardless of CMK's opinion that certain remarks were taken out of context during our interaction with *******, we are no longer comfortable with the operations of CMK Construction and no longer want their services. Perception is reality, and in our case, it was pretty obvious to us that there was a lack of professionalism when we voiced our concerns. I should have told ******* right after these egregious comments were made that we were no longer interested in the services and should have dismissed him from our property at that time, however, I was very uncomfortable and I failed to speak up for myself. In addition to providing quality work, (which has already been proven to be lacking as evidenced by the 2 previous incorrect installation attempts) quality customer service should also be an important factor when performing services for a client, which we did not receive. Again, we are requesting a refund of our deposit for $10,000, minus the engineering fee and cost of the permits. We would very much like to settle this dispute cordially and release CMK of any further obligations to our property.
Sincerely,

Thank you for your prompt response regarding my concerns of the professionalism by your senior staff. It saddens me to see that CMK is more concerned with protecting their staff members rather than addressing their customer's concerns, however, I would like to move forward and proceed with the completion of this project. I do have some general questions regarding this project, since it has been almost a year since we have begun this journey. I would like for a member of CMK, preferably Manny, to please call me so that my questions can be answered and we can plan to move forward.
Sincerely,

Their construction crew left nails in our driveway, nails they were specifically using and the construction manager, who has been amazing, took pictures of the screws and the tires and went to his manger to try to get us a discount of some sort since we had to replace the tires after attempting to get them fixed but had to completely replace the tire. We had 2 cars in the drive and both cars ended up with the same specific screws that they were using. The crew admitted that it was their screws! But we got no compensation or discount for the cost of repairing the tires that ultimately had to get replaced.Business Response

In September 2023, we had initially agreed to use CMK construction to remodel our bathroom. They took a $10000 deposit to move forward. After they took the deposit, they then scheduled a visit with their design person to make selections. They stated multiple times that the job would cost $30000. After meeting with the design person, the total cost was over $44000. They did not inform us of additional costs and if we knew that we would have never followed through. It is now the end of October and we have not received our refund. They provided no work other than meeting with the designer. They keep telling me that there is a 20 percent cancellation fee and it would not be fair to other customers if they gave us a refund. I said I would pay for the time spent that the designer used but they keep quoting a 20 percent fee for no work done. In fact they currently have 34 percent of the fee and have not responded to me. I even agreed to speak to their legal department but still nothing.Business Response

Hello we recently became aware of your intention to cancel your contract with us, and I wanted to reach out to address any concerns you may have. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we genuinely value your business. We understand your concerns about the cancellation fee,but it is clearly stated in the contract, the fee is in place to cover the costs associated with processing the cancellation and any potential losses for the service we have dedicated to your account. We strive to provide a fair and transparent service to all of our customers. If you have any further questions or concerns, we would be happy to discuss them with you. Thank you for your understanding.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because the only service provided was talking to the person at the design center. You can't have a cancellation fee when you are not transparent with the financial commitment. You promised us a fee knowing full well that you were going to tack on extra financial expectations after the fact. If you would have been upfront, then we would not have moved forward. We couldn't find out about the extra financial cost until we put a down payment. I can only surmise that you knew what was going to happen after the design center. If you wanted to be upfront and transparent, then the final financial determination would have been completed before asking for a down payment. If you wanted to be fair, then this would have happened first. This is shady business practice. You know it, I know it, and others you read this will know it. I have dealt with numerous construction companies over the years and all were transparent with what I was going to pay. Unfortunately, you did not meet the standard of a reputable company.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: if you wanted to be transparent, then everything would have been completed up front before any money changed hands. Transparency means that full disclosure of the final price has been presented and then a choice can be made. CMK presented a partial price, expected an up front payment, and then disclosed the final price. That is not transparency. We want nothing to do with your company. We do not trust your business ethics.

I signed the contact with CMK to renovate my master bath on 08-24-2022. They were to start work on October 1,2022. one excuse after the other they started demo on November 9, 2022. as of now September 22, 2023 they are still not completed and they have now refused to come back claiming they are finished. What is left at this point is to buff off the remaining stain from the repair of the new floor (which they ruined through carelessness and poor building practices) however, they refuse to do so, saying they had "***** did hand buff with a rag and vinegar" when a machine buff is what the instructions call for and the floor is covered with a dull brown coating which gets tracked on feet throughout the home. I have texted, emailed and called leaving many messages but no reply except for the text saying the vinegar and rag was buffing and they are not returning to complete the job.ADDITIONALLY, CMK is falsely advertising that they employ and send to the job LICENSED CONTRACTORS, SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP, COMPUTER RENDERED DESIGNS. THEY ADVERTISE "WE ENSURE THAT OUR PRODUCTS ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY EVERY TIME - GUARANTEED" When in fact they send unlicensed subs with CMK shirts on. I am also filing with the ***** due to the number of unlicensed and uninsured workers CMK had working on my renovation and all of the ensuing errors and unfixed building mistakes these workers made and which CMK refused to fix and covered up with tile.THEY ADVERTISE IF THE WORKMANSHIP OR ANY INSTALLATION BY OUR COMPANY PROVES FAULTY THEN UPON NOTICE FROM YOU, WE WILL CAUSE SUCH FAULTS TO BE CORRECTED. YET THEY REFUSE TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR TO THE ***** AND GROUT THEY INSTALLED WHICH THEY THEN RUINED BY WETMOPPING PLASTER DUST INTO THE CHOCLATE BROWN ********* is disorganized, unprofessional. dozens of problems for the 10 months they struggled to finish ONE bathroom, lied about "employees" and their licenses, sent workers with no tools or supplies, damaged other rooms in the houseBusiness Response

Dear ********************,
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns on the Better Business Bureau platform. We truly value feedback from our customers, and we regret that your experience with us did not meet your expectations.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration you may have experienced during your interaction with our company. We take customer satisfaction seriously, and we are committed to addressing and resolving any issues that arise.
We certainly do not agree with many of the statements you have made. Even though you signed a punch list on June 29th stating the only item remaining were your mirrors which were installed, and also made final payment. You mentioned another issue at a much later time, and CMK sent a technician out. Alternatively, several people from our customer support team reached out to you with no response until recently. We are available to assist you and work towards a resolution.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we appreciate your feedback. We look forward to the opportunity to resolving this issue with your cooperation.
