On November 16th, I went into Octopharma Plasma to donate, it had been some time to donate, but they had a new donor incentive for $100 and its a good cause. I had to watch this two introductory videos and answer 60 questions on a iPad about my general health. Then I preceeded to have someone draw blood from my finger and weight, took my blood pressure and unprofessional left me there for 10 minutes, before telling me my pulse was low at 44 and I could not donate the minimum is 50. I work out, no surprise my pulse is low. There was no mention of low pulse being a disqualify in the videos and the screening questions. A complete waste of time of an hour and fifteen minutes, I left with this news. I should be compensated the $100 gift card promised for being unprofessional and wasting my time.Business Response

We follow the *** recommendations, requiring a donor's pulse level being at a minimum of 50. This is what the *** requires, and we are regulated by the **** His issue is with the ***, not us. This is out of abundance of caution for donor safety. If the donor was to donate with a low pulse rate he could have an adverse effect.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: this is not mentioned in their introduction videos or answering ridiculous questions prior to donating, if so I would not have wasted an hour an half for nothing, I'm athletic pulse is low, misleading fraudulent business

November 13th 2024 I was verbally attacked, harassed, and verbally assaulted by 2 black female employees at the OctaPharma Plasma donation center located in *****************I was discriminated against due to miscommunication.I am a white, blonde hair, blue eyed woman and I want justice to be served.They have numerous cameras here, and they deliberately are accepting and tolerating this behavior with these two employees. This is ridiculous for someone who is trying to donate plasma, to help others, and collect money to help better their lives at the same time be insulted and had numerous threatening words spoken to her.Absolutely uncalled for and henious. Then, I was denied by the manager, who was also black, to leave- after I was the one who was just verbally attacked, assaulted, and humiliated.Initial Complaint

I have been frequenting OctaPharma Plasma, to help sustain life by donating Plasma multiple times a week for the last 3 years, at this location. I've consistently had bad experiences with staff here, regarding being greeted/checked in/hooked up to the machines/unhooked from the machines/issues with malfunctioning machines due to improper insertion IV/bleeding out from improper wrapping methods/issues with protein testing and obtaining results to continue donating/issues with getting money for donating/negligence and neglect from staff in general. I'm currently waiting in line to be checked in, there's only three other people waiting other than myself. I've been waiting for ********************************* because the staff continues to walk away from the front desk to attend to other matters. All of the people waiting, have addressed the issue to the staff, just to be told, "we're doing the best we can". Waiting 45 minutes to an hour on a very slow day, just to get checked in, is uncalled for and unprofessional. My time is just as important as anyone else's. They expect you to help save lives, however, the staff does not make it easy on those willing to donate. Something needs to change! On April 23rd I donated plasma but when it was time to process my payment which was $40 owed to me I was told that my payment was already processed and there's nothing further they can do, even though I showed I hadn't been paid. I attempted to contact the bank which told me there was no payment processed or pending. Octapharma also spoke to the bank. A problem that should've been resolved in 24 hrs has not been resolved. We spoke to ******************** on May 1, 2024. We confirmed that he still had not received his payment and this was corrected. ******************** stated that he would be in later today to donate again. We offered him an express pass to use during his visit. ******************** was very complimentary of the ****** Management Team and their professionalism.
We believe that this matter has been handled satisfactorily.

I went to go donate plasma yesterday (12/1/2022) and they still have not yet paid me the $100 I am owed. They are giving me the run-around and stating that their services are down, and I am in a situation where every dime is very important. They do not tell you that the money will not be on your card on the day of the donation until after the donation. They stated that they would give me a card with money on it, but I cant withdraw from it and the money isnt on my card yet because I was not given a *** to withdraw it with. I need to take the money off the card and put it into my Suncoast account, but they tell me that I have to swipe it to use it at other establishments, but this is not something I want to do theyve told me that I will have to call back another day to have the *** set up.Initial Complaint

I went in to October today to donate plasma.. I was told prior to donating that I would receive $100.. I had this clarified with the director Savannah prior to donating ing. Once my donation was completed I only received $55. I told them it was incorrect and to get Savannah. Tperiod the girl came back and told me it would be 15 or 20 minutes before she could speak to me. I told them I had to leave for work And that was unacceptable as we had discussed this prior to my donation. She came out of the office angry and and said she would not change the amount the amount. The 2 other girls at the receptionist desk who told me she said yes were there and she said they must have misunderstood her. I told her the only reason I donated was for the $100 that's why I clarified it prior to doing this period now that you have my blood and it's completed You don't want to pay me what was promised.. I feel I have been lied to been lied to betrayed and by medical staff at that. My blood is gone my plasma is gone and there's no replacing it you sing it. I want the money that was owed to me. I called the corporate office and they told me to go on their app and leave a comment that there was nothing they could do. I am so upset About being lied to!
