My husband and I had a tire blow out on I -10 near Lake City. We contacted several tire repair shops including RRO but they were able to get to us first. When the tech arrived he quoted 100 for a used tire which is already overpriced but considering the circumstances my husband agreed. Then once he put the tire on he asked that we pay in cash but we did not have that much with us. He also said we could also do *******!! I don’t use that either so he agreed to follow us to a nearby gas station to get cash. When we got there he asked my husband to come over and told him the full price was 455!! There would also be an additional 70 charge if I used my credit card (mostly likely because the charge could be disputed). I asked for a breakdown of price so he showed me the generic receipt provided and he said the owner gave him the price. So I then asked that he get his manager on the phone. He pretended to text someone and then stopped. I asked him again about the inflated price and how that was NOT agreed upon but he said again the manager provided the price. In frustration and recovering from a recent illness I decided to stop asking. My husband paid because by that time it was dark and very cold and we just wanted to get home. He paid 200 in cash and 255 via my ********** ******* account to “***** *****”Afterwards, I tried to reach the owner/ manager myself several times but someone kept hanging up the phone. We called the number for another tow company in the area, who we initially contacted and thought we were doing business with and the owner, said he knew and heard of the guy that was cheating people at the other company. So I went and checked the reviews and sure enough he had done this to several others! Taking advantage when people are in difficult situations is unethical, fraudulent, and cruel. Please take action to get a portion of my money refunded. This scammer must not be tolerated.
