If you love your fur baby please do NOT take them to the 24/7 Emergency.I took ****** because he had been vomiting, had diarrhea, and had bled a lot from his ******.We was taken to a room, he was taken back for bloodwork within 10 minutes. I spoke to the vet on duty ******** ********, she advised she thought ****** had Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, she told me even with the amount of blood loss, he would have a good outcome. Maybe that might have been true if he hadn't of had to wait for 4 hours where we continued to vomit and bleed out, he walked to where he would get bloodwork done the first time, he had to be carried the second time, he had lost so much blood and was so weak at this point. After me repeatedly asking how much longer! to the people coming in with the fees they wanted me to sign off on, and the receptionist, I had a nurse come in once to clean up the blood he had lost, but still we waited!! He was taken back to the *** after 4 hours! I left and decided to come back and see him once he's been hooked up to an IV receiving fluids and receiving the care he desperately needed. I called 4 hours later to check on him and was told by the vet, to come now that ****** was not going to make it. I rushed to the ***, what I saw broke my heart, he was on oxygen and hooked up to a monitor, he was actively dying, I asked her if there was any chance of him making it, I was told no. I made the painful decision to have him euthanized. This has been the most painful time of my life, he was an emergency and was not treated as such.I wanted answers so I emailed VHA several days later, I received a call that week, I was told they would review the 4 hours of footage. It has been over 2 weeks now and nobody has called me, they are not going to, from beginning to end they failed ******, I wish I had never taken him there, it will be something I will have to live with for the rest of my life.Bottom line this is a business all they care about is money!

There should be negative stars because ZERO is still to much for this establishment. Long story short, went there to take my dog that had diarrhea and was vomiting. Waited for 4 HOURS to have him looked at. After I was in the doctor suggested to have an xray done. Given an estimate for ****** TO ******. Had the xray done and found no blockage. She said he needed a pain medication because he was sensitive when she toched him. I carried him all day and he never complained. So the suggestion was that he get the lab work, a shot, probiotics, and pain medication. Couldn't afford everything so I paid for the xray, office visit , the pain medication and was told to shop online for the probiotic. Paid ****** for things that really wasn't necessary. They could have given me something to stop the diarrhea instead. Maybe spending the ****** would have been the answer. Then I called 2 days straight and 8 phone calls later, no answer to my questions and dog is still the same. ****** would have been a better decision. This place needs to be investigated and have their license suspended. Look at the amount of complaints it has posted.

After waiting over 4 hrs with only a set of vital signs done, we left. Just sitting in a room... The facility is beautiful, but the service is definitely lacking.

We could not be any happier with the wonderful care our cats and dogs get at VHC. All of our pets go here for regular healthcare. We have also needed their emergency services and they were amazing. We highly recommend VHC for all your pets healthcare needs.

Our precious dog, Spot passed away only about 8 hours after going to this place. She was bleeding from the rectum, it was squirting out and she was vomiting foamy stuff about every 15 minutes and at the vets office there was blood mixed with the foamy stuff.. Because of the storm Ian, we couldn't take her to our regular vet. The vet who talked to us told us this was common and not to worry, they would put her on medication and keep her for 24 to 36 hours and if that didn't work they would take x-rays. (The only thing they did was take her temperature)., and it would cost us between $3500 and $4,000 plus for them to do this. We told them we couldn't afford that and then a nurse came in with another offer which didn't include x-rays for a little less. She said we could take her home with some meds which cost us $338.00 all together including the office call and weighing her and taking her temperature.. Took her home and within 8 hours she was gone. I explained to the Vet that I thought she was poisoned from eating a frog or something but the vet just smiled and said no, it was just caused from stress from the storm or it might be pancreinitis and meds would take care of her. I know that if our regular Vet had seen her, she would have ran tests immediately. Please do not take your pet here. They are all about money and not your pets' health. Also we were there for 5 hours and the vet saw us and our fur baby for about 5 minutes They work on a tier scale. Please avoid this place at all costs, go to a vet who does tests and x-rays immediately and figures out the problem, not just tells you it is common for your pet to squirt out blood from the rectum and throws up foamy stuff and blood. I hope this review says a pet.

Marlaine, we are sending tremendous amounts of love and comfort for the loss of your special family member. We understand the strength of the human-animal bond and are in this profession because to serve and help all those we can. We understand the symptoms your loved one was presented for and are able to see where diagnostics and hospitalization were recommended, as well as abdominal radiographs, i.v fluids, and supportive care. The recommended treatment plan was declined, which didn't allow us to perform the necessary tests. We understand financial constraints may be of concern and we did what we could to help your loved one by switching to an outpatient plan. We are sending our condolescences for the loss of your special family member and are thinking of you and your family during this time.

Apparently there is a monopoly among the veterinary businesses in the area. My current vet has been doing a poor job so I called the VHA to switch. They said all of the vets in the area have an agreement to not take pets if they have an established vet already. So if my vet isn't doing a good job I have no choice but to stay? Unacceptable practice that they are doing. I'm still very confused at this.

      Hi Samantha,

We're saddened to hear you're not enjoying your experience at your current veterinarian. We want you and your special family member to have a great experience at a vet of your choice, however, we do have a referral policy in place. It is our policy as a Specialty Referral and Emergency hospital to not take other veterinarians General Practice clients as our own as we rely on them to refer to us and only act as an extension of them. This policy is common for Specialty Referral and Emergency hospitals, however, if you've never visited us as a referral from another local veterinarian we would be happy to take you as a general practice client. Your review has brought up some concerns we have with our team having a clear understanding on this policy and is something we will be re-training on in response to ensure it's communicated clearly and accurately. We will be sending you a follow-up email to get more details surrounding the circumstances. Looking forward to speaking with you soon and we thank you very much for your feedback.
