1 starThis company disregards paulding county noise ordinance and disrespects the surrounding residents. No noise before 8am. Yet this rude company arrived and dropped their first tree at 7am in a residential neighborhood. They were done and pulled off by 9:20am. Any reason they couldnt wait an hour??? Absolutely ridiculous!Review fromCharlotte F

1 starI rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to warn others. I recently contacted Cheap and Great Tree Service for a quote. After a brief consultation, I agreed to a proposed service and was charged a $1,000 deposit on the spot. However, within 30 minutes of making the payment, I called to cancel the service due to a change in circumstances. Despite the short time frame, the company flat-out refused to refund any portion of the deposit. I even offered a reasonable compromiseto let them keep a portion of the money to cover their time and credit card processing fees. They still refused to work with me.This kind of rigid and uncooperative approach is not only disappointing but also feels unethical. A company that calls itself Cheap and Great should live up to at least one of those claims. In my case, it was ********** very cautious before handing over any money to this business. Ask about their refund policy in writing, and dont assume theyll treat you fairly if things change. I certainly wouldnt recommend them based on how they handled this situation.Review fromSteven F

1 starI STONGLY RECOMMEND NO ONE USE THIS COMPANY. TREMENDOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL. >>> I hired "Cheap and Great Tree Service" to trim back 3 trees for me, in order to expose my roof-top solar panels to more later afternoon sun. Two were pear trees; one a medium sized oak. At our first meeting, I was told the best way to achieve my goal was to "top" the trees. I specifically asked if what they were talking about doing would only remove the TOP part of the trees, thinning out and LEAVING the lower part of the trees, and branches. I told them I wanted to make sure that is what was going to be done, because I still wanted the backyard, close to the house, to have shade in the late afternoon. This was especially important with the oak. They ASSURED me that would be done. I ENDED UP WITH 3 TELEPHONE POLES. Tall, no branches at all, especially the big beautiful oak. I complained, telling them to remove the oak completely, because it was They wanted to charge me for that, instead of standing behind their promise. After 2 calls, I was told "let me check with my supervisor" and never heard anything. They would never answer my subsequent calls or return my voicemail messages. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NO ONE USE THIS COMPANY. TREMENDOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!Review fromLakeshia G

3 starsCheap and Great Tree service Did an excellent job cutting down two trees for me in January and gave me a great price I couldnt refuse. The only thing I didnt like is how they tore up my back yard and the side of the drive way with the bobcat and their grinder. Also, my driveway was already cracked and due to them putting their grinder and rolling that bobcat on the driveway they broke it up even more and made it worse than it was. They didnt clean up as good as they should have left a lot of debris.on the ground. I need them to take more time and examine your customers yards and driveways. Discuss any issues that you may see let the customers know that there may be some damage to the grass and dips made from the wood planks and the bobcat. Make those guys clean up a better nothing should be left from the trees they cut down. This was my first time dealing with a tree company so I really didnt know what to expect but now I know. I know its about the money for them but dont create more problems for your customers. Lastly, I probably wont use them again.Review fromJonathan A

3 starsI hired Cheap and Great Tree Service to grind two stumps ***and remove the roots from my lawn*** (note the emphasis) for $600. The worker who came out was great, and he did a fine job. The next day, though, I found a few spots that needed more work. Grinding debris had covered some big roots that poked out of the ground, and while digging up some small exposed roots, I discovered they were attached to three-inch-diameter roots about one-to-two inches below the ground. I tried but couldn't dig any of these up by hand, so I contacted ***** owner to ask for a touch-up. He said they didn't do roots that deep, and he wanted an extra $100 for a return visit to grind the roots that were poking up. I went to ********** and rented a small grinder for $125.Review fromMollie E

1 starWe had a tree wedged between two trees on our deck since the hurricane this September. My husband talked to the *** from Cheap and Great Tree Service and they quoted him a price to cut it down and cut the trunk into smaller pieces. They cut down the tree and deposited it across the creek and left the massive trunk for us to handle. We're seniors and unable to do this ourselves. (I also just found that there was a coupon and a senior "discount" included.) My husband gave them $300 and a check for $4100 dollars that they agreed not to cash until Monday. He called and talked to the *** several times, but the man always argues with him and my husband gives up. I am angry that they didn't finish the job and expect us to be happy with the result. If you have a way to show a video, I can show you how they left it.Review fromSydney L.

1 starMy husband and I were looking for a tree service company that was bonded as well as licensed and insured to do some tree removal services. A printed advertisement of the sister associated (connected) company Cheap&Great Tree Services was included in a community mailer sent to our house. This advertisement has printed that this company is licensed, bonded, and insured. I met with a *** named ***** on 10-23-24 at our house to get an estimate. We accepted the estimate offer of $900. When I asked when they could come, he said Saturday ***** or Monday *****. I told him if they came Saturday it must be before 12pm but to be sure to send me proof of bond coverage and liability insurance first and to let us know at least day before when coming so we could move our cars and inform our neighbor to move their car. ***** agreed and said he needed a $300 deposit which I gave him via debit card. I asked ***** to send me proof of bond ******************** insurance again. He texted me workers ************************ insurance but no where shows bonded coverage. I texted back asking for proof of being bonded but never got ***ly. This morning (next day *****) the crew showed up! I had to stop them telling them 1-they were not scheduled today & 2-we still didnt have proof of bond coverage. ***** tried to change his story that he said they might show up today. I reminded him he never said that and no one called ahead of time to say they could come early & he still hadnt provided proof of bond coverage. I told ***** they did not have our authorization to start the work until they provided proof of bond coverage THEN gave us time after that to move all cars out of danger. ***** called *****, 1 of 2 Owners. When I explained all this info, ***** started arguing over the phone saying they didnt have to have bond coverage in ** and if everyone else they worked for was ok with it we should be too. I insisted proof. He screamed & ranted I canceled the job. He threatened to charge me.
