i live in an HOA serviced by this company. since covid there service has become horrible and below par. they kept raising there rates and we stuck with them. They decided to pick up recycling every 2 weeks instead of weekly while we are paying for it to be weekly. we asked the company, and they said it was temporary. its been 5 years. Now we decided that we are going to cancel their service and go with another company. as we tried to cancel they said we can't because they just renewed our contract without notification and want to charge us if we cancel for the remainder of the contract. A unilateral decision on **** behalf that we have never agreed to. the company is engaged in unlawful contractual practices and are bullying us into their HORRIBLE service. now I said I dont want recycling and i just want 2 trash cans. they said they insist on charging me for it because its in the contract. My recycling was missed. It was scheduled for January 16, but it was missed. I called that afternoon. It was told it would be picked up. It was not. I called the next day, the 17th. It was told it would either be picked up that day for the following day, which was Saturday. It was not. I then called today. Monday January 20th and was told that I was on a priority list and it would be picked up today, it still wasnt. Waste connections is notcompleting the task. I mailed the notification to cancel my service on July 11, 2024. Since my business hours are the same as theirs, I also notified them via email on their portal. I was notified 30 days later via email that the company did not accept my notice to cancel and wanted a phone call. I finally had time to contact them via phone on September 4 and notified them that they had not been providing my service since August 1 ( I felt it very unfair to utilize their service since I had told them not once, but twice that I had changed carriers due to pricing and consistency of services), their cans had been set aside and that they needed to come get them. They then presented me with a bill for $50.89 for services they were aware I did not want and, I believe, was to force me into paying for cancelling my services by refusing my notice. Please also note, that Waste Connections is the fifth company to buy out my route and I did not contract originally with their organization, I had no choice but to accept their service due to sale of the previous organizations.I have requested assistance from their customer service line many times only to be told that written communication is not a reasonable method of cancellation and the bill will stand. I am more than frustrated and do not feel I should be held responsible for paying for services I was clear I did not want and they refused to accept.Initial Complaint

Issue: receiving bills for trash services even after the home was sold and services were cancelled. I moved out of the home in Oct 2023. Account details were switched over to my brother who was still living in the home and was now in charge of bills. Waste Connections bought out American Disposal around this same time. They started charging monthly instead of every 3 months. In July 2024 the home was sold and brother cancelled trash services. He still got an invoice. He called, and was told again that they would cancel the account. Around August or September 2024, he got the same invoice again. He called again and they said the account was still under my name and that only I could cancel the account. I called. I cancelled the account, but tried to dispute the charge. They said they would have a supervisor review the file and that someone would call me back. No call was received. I called back multiple times and was told the same thing. No one called me back. Then November 2024, I get an email saying I would be sent to collections. They said that supervisor had in fact reviewed the file, but nothing can be done about the charge, so I shouldnt have expected a call back. I asked to speak to manager or someone in billing directly, they kept saying that they do not allow that, but that the charge remains and I either have to pay or go to collections.Initial Complaint

August ******* my trash was not picked up by Waste Connections of Georgia.i called the company and told them because the truck was still on my street. I was told he would come back by or someone would pick up August *******. Neither occurred. I left a message and sent an email August 23, 2024. August 26th I got a reply that my trash would be picked up during regular service. I replied that was unacceptable. I had to take my trash somewhere else because my trash was full. I was then told someone would be out August 26th by 7:00 pm. No one came out. My pick up day August 28th no one picked up my trash again. I called and was told someone would be out by 7:00 pm. No one came out. I was told I given a credit for last week but it is not reflected on my account.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:Yes, the issue is resolved. My trash was removed, I closed my account with the company. A truck should pick up my can next week and I should receive a refund of $24. Let me know if anything else is needed.

Canceled service on July 15. Waste Connections still has not picked up their cans from my property. I was given a date of August 16 for pickup and they failed to pick up their cans or notify me of a change. Waste Connections Georgia has repeatedly missed trash and recycling collections. It has now been a month since it was last collected. We have gone through proper channels of notifying them of the missed collection, attempting to speak to a representative, even trying to get rectified by reaching out via social media. On occasion they say they will come the next day or the next, but they do not show up. We are still charged for the service. No one will confirm how we can be refunded.Initial Complaint

My trash has not been put up consistently for months. They have picked up a total of 5 times in the last 12 weeks and it has taken me calling, emailing, and pleading to have those pick *** completed. I would not a refund for them not fulfilling the service that was agreed upon.
