      Please do not get delta Dental under any circumstances. They have charged me for insurance from July to November, I went to dentist in October and all my claims were denied! I was within the policy why my insurance doesnt cover basic dental price that is the question.No longer with them and moved on to ******************* the best dental plan I ever had and no longer have to deal with frauds like Delta Dental.

      In December, during open enrollment, I signed up for a dental plan with Delta Dental. The plan I chose has a default waiting period of 12 months for all ***** services (root canal, crown, etc.). However, the plan policy also states that the waiting period will be reduced/removed if I was previously with Delta Dental on a PPO plan that also had a waiting period. Fortunately, I had a Delta Dental PPO from June of 2022 through December. Prior to that, I was also insured with Delta Dental PPO of ************* through my employer. Therefore, the entire waiting period should have been waived, but they only waived half of it. I called customer service numerous times to ask why the entire waiting period for my new plan was not waived. They advised me that Delta Dental has different systems in different states that aren't connected and dont talk to each other and thats how I ended up with only six months of the waiting period being waived.At their request, I submitted a copy of my proof-of-coverage from Delta Dental of *************. I was told that as long as there was no break in coverage exceeding 60 days, I would be given full credit for being a Delta Dental customer and that the waiting period on my new plan would be removed. Despite submitting the proof-of-coverage, my account still shows that I have a waiting period for ***** services. I have been calling and emailing almost daily to get this resolved to no avail. In mid-January I was informed that the only way to get the waiting period removed was to file a Grievance Form, which gives them another 30 days to review the claim and drag their feet. I'm essentially paying for dental insurance that I cannot use. *** tried to make an appointment at a local provider for ***** services, but they keep telling me there is a waiting period and that in order to have ***** services performed I would need to pay up-front/out-of-pocket for it. I don't know what else to do.

      I am rejecting this response because the issue has not been resolved.  If I don't respond within 7 days, the BBB will assume I am satisfied and will close the complaint as answered.  Simply referring my complaint to another group or department within Delta Dental is not a satisfactory resolution.

      My dental insurance claim was denied. When I asked why, the response I got said "Claimm denied for provider information not correct". First of all, if they are going to deny my claim, they could at least use proper grammar and spelling. Secondly, my dentist's office tells me that they have been in contact with Delta Dental multiple times to try to resolve the issue, but they don't seem to be getting anywhere. They told me that Delta Dental said that the tax ID number they have on file is different from the one they submitted. The least Delta Dental could do is contact my dentist's office to try to resolve the discrepancy rather than just rejecting my claim, but then offering me no help. I would like Delta Dental to make an effort to contact my dentist's office to resolve the discrepancy in the tax ID numbers and then review my claim again. Claim number **************

      I am trying to get reimbursed via Flex account for Dental Bills from 2022 on my son who now has a job and as of 2023 is covered by his own insurance. I need the explanation of benefits for 2022 dental bills but Delta Dental cannot send them because he is no longer covered. I will lose a substantial amount of money without the insurance company explanation of benefits. He was covered in 2022 when the work was done. Thank you.

      I had to pay out of pocket for my 3 years old yearly cleaning as the dentist was not under their in network providers. No problem. Paid out of pocket. Tried to submit for reimbursement for had problems since I submitted the paper work. Almost a year later and they still will not give me a clear answer. I had my dentist sign the paperwork and provide all records and also submitted clear proof of payment. Every single time I submit something, its get rejected for something else. Now they are saying my dentist needs to call Delta and get added to their list? This is ridiculous. All the information is there to pay ME out since I paid. I asked to speak with a supervisor multiple times or to have someone call me, they got rude over email and stated a manager could not help me. This is ridiculous. Its been almost a year and I have submitted all paper work multiple times! This company is terrible. I work in claims, I know what needs to be on file to pay out, they keep sending me in circles. I have sent in proof of payment, my dentist signed the claims form, NTP and License numbers are all there. Now they are saying my dentist has to call Delta and get added to some list for them? Absurd and terrible company. I have been paying them for years and they can't even pay me for one visit for my 3 year old teeth cleaning. Oh not to mention the last time I got his teeth cleaned, they covered it with the same dentist, but now they need them to sign up or on something for a reimbursement claim??? This makes no sense, No one will call me or talk to me on why this is what it is. I just want to paid $174 for my sons cleaning! How hard is that to do!

      I messaged the company TWICE asking to cancel my subscription. First request was August 2022. They said they "forwarded" the message to the correct department. No response. Second request was November 9th, 2022. No response. They charged me on December 26th, 2022 for another full year. There is no number you can call to cancel. I tried and it was completely automated with no option to cancel.

      I called to cancel my plan and it looks like they may not have completed it. I need to make sure that my plan is cancelled and that Im not billed for Oct. Nov. Or Dec. 2022 or further dates.

      I called Delta Dental on Aug 31 to ask if my insurance would cover a dental consultation and possible root canal. The representative provided some information about which type of tooth would be covered but failed to inform me that I needed to wait until October to be covered. So I had the consultation and root canal done in early September even though I had no inflammation or discomfort and would have waited if Id been informed properly by the Delta Dental ********** I contacted Delta Dental about the claim being denied, another rep advised me that a mistake had been made and filed a grievance for me. Then I received a letter stating that I had to file the grievance in writing myself so I did. Then my grievance was denied with a letter stating that I should have known that I had to wait until October and that this was not the reps responsibility. How ridiculous! I told Delta Dental that this answer was completely unacceptable, but they have continued to deny my reasonable claim. My member ID is ************ and the claim number is **************. The total cost of the consultation and root canal was $1195 which I already paid directly to the dentist. Thank you for helping me to resolve this.

      I am rejecting this response because Delta Dental's customer service rep provided incomplete information and did not inform me properly when I called to determine if a potential procedure would be covered.  The rep was not properly trained to review accounts and determine coverage.  I called Delta Dental's customer service department for the sole purpose of deciding whether or not to move forward with the procedure based upon coverage.  What is the purpose of having customer service reps if they don't understand the elements of coverage?  Stating that I should understand these elements instead of the customer service rep is ridiculous, and this is the response I received to my grievance.  In fact, a customer service rep whom I spoke with subsequently informed me that a mistake was made by the rep I spoke with initially and so filed a grievance for me.  This is now simply an insurance company trying to delay and then deny payment to save money.  I cancelled my policy a month later, because I needed to enroll in ******** (which included a dental policy).  Maybe this is the real reason my grievance was denied.  I strongly recommend that Delta Dental honor my claim as I have every intention to elevate this until they do.

      I have had 5 fillings from a dentist. After about three days I needed a extraction of one of those teeth, a root canal of another one of those teeth and a possible other root canal. I am in severe pain and unable to eat on my right side of mouth for a.month. I have been working with a endodontist to determine now what may ne the cause as I have had one extraction and a root canal The pain is so severe and shoots into my jaw and ear when I am eating anything hot or cold. I am asking for my money to be put back into my benefits that way I can have this all figured out. I can not go on in this extreme pain *** I do not have the funds to get the work I need done now as prior to.having fillings I did not have any pain in my mouth at all.
