      I canceled my dental and medical insurance plans through the martketplace in October. I received a subsequent bill from Delta Dental for November. On November 9th, I made three phone calls to Delta Dental and two phone calls to the healthcare marketplace. Both parties assured me that my plan was canceled and I would not receive any more bills. I received a bill from Delta Dental on 01/08/**** for a **** policy. I did not apply for this policy. I spent most of a day making phone calls on November 9th to prevent this from happening. Delta Dental refuses to cancel the policy because it was created by the marketplace. They acknowledged receipt of my call to cancel and the original cancellation from the marketplace. I am the supposed policy holder, I am the financially responsible party, yet they refuse to cancel the policy because the "marketplace sent a renewal".

      I had a root canal done on 11/14/23. On my contract Delta was supposed to cover 50%. The total amount for my root canal was $2,025.00 not including cap which was another $1,001.00. Delta only paid $411.00. They were supposed to pay $1,012.50. There excuse was that I did not go with endodontist that was in their network. They never disclose that until after my procedure. They said they sent me a welcome package contain details, which they NEVER did. While on the phone and looking at the same delta site as their rep the site was still down. I ask for a package to be sent to my ********** said she did not know if she could do that. It was never sent. Their rep told me to file a grievance complaint and I did. The site said it would respond in 5 days, and it is now ten days without any reply.

      I have been in contact with Delta Dental for the last 4 months. My dentist just recently dropped Delta Dental because they do not cover enough of the service costs. So what my dentist does is charge me at the office and then send the work completed to Delta Dental so I can get a reimbursement check. There are two procedures that were billed: a cleaning and an exam. The cleaning is suppose to be covered and I should get 124 dollars back from Delta Dental. I also confirmed this on my Delta Dental account page. It states they owe me 124 dollars. Delta Dental has failed to send me the check for the last 4 months. I have called 4 times and sent 2 online request forms. Additionally, they first approved an additional ********************************************************************************************************************* the mail stating the exam is not covered as I already had two exams in 2023, which I did. But they are all over the place and sending me conflicting information. The cleaning though is still accurate and I am still owed that reimbursement check. I also find it very frustrating they can send me a denial letter really fast in the mail stating I'm not getting part of the money, but cant send me the check for 124 dollars for over 4 months. They are not accredited by the BBB have a 1 star rating. I wish the ******** people could charge interest to businesses. Additionally I feel they should also cover my exam since i have been waiting so long for this money and wasting so much of my time trying to fight for myself to get reimburses. This is a civil lawsuit waiting to happen... They even gave me confirmation number for my calls:

      called customer service and spoke to 2 different people wanting to cancel service. Was told to provide proof of coverage with my ******** advantage program. I am not aware of any regulation requiring I prove coverage for dental care.

      I have had Delta Dental since October 2022. I have been trying to find a dentist that is in network since February 2023. I have had no luck finding a provider that accepts this insurance that is located anywhere near where I live. The in network providers either have an extensive wait list or are not accepting new patients. I have asked Delta Dental if they could make an exception for me to see my own dentist and pay the claim since they do not have a provider that I could see. I have called them pretty much every month since February with no resolution. They always told me that a representative would call me back within 72 hours to let me know if they would allow an out of network provider, but they never did. I called Delta Dental on December 6th and was given the same response that someone would call me within 72 hours. They didn't. I was having tooth pain so I made an appointment and saw my dentist, *********************, on December 11th. On December 12th,I submitted by mail my claim form and the bill from the my dentist office. I was contacted today by Delta stating that they found a dentist in my area that could see me- mind you, this is now over 2 weeks later, not 72 hours. I advised them that I saw my dentist and would like to be reimbursed. The representative stated that he doesn't see my claim in the system. It was mailed from ******** to Georgia! It should have been received by now. I also mailed a letter back in June 2023 which they claimed was never received. They even confirmed that the address that is on the back of my ID card was in fact the correct address. I would just like a refund of the $189.80 that I paid out of my own pocket.Thank you,*********************

      I am having such an issue with Delta Dental of Indiana. I have called and emailed to no end. At one point, I called regarding when an invoice would be generated and was told they would automatically deduct the amount on the 4th of each month. I go through the Marketplace and we have had coverage only because I jump hoops to make the payment. We have reenrolled for coverage with the same plan ID that shows we are currently enrolled for **** and the charge will be going up to ******. When I log on and talk to the Marketplace I am ensured I am enrolled. However, to date it shows when I log in that to your site, no payment is due from us for ****. I paid the amount of ****** now showing I have a credit of that amount and in February nothing is due. One of the ***s we have from my daughter was denied due to already having a missing tooth. Are you kidding me? She is 4 and has never had work in her teeth prior. My Dental office than did a *** for ******* **** surgery and we have paid your *** deductible of 750 scheduled for ******* 2nd. I have enrolled in your coverage and paid despite no invoices generated and in good faith. I expect answers of where are invoicing is and our new packet. It appears to me you are attempting to drop us knowing you will need to pay out in *******. I want an appeal to the missing tooth denial and answers to our **** coverage. You contract with the **************** and can not just deny coverage because of an upcoming surgery. illegal. I have tried to amicably get answers and talking to the Sate Marketplace they have informed me we are enrolled and good to go for ****. If we get dropped, I have downloaded all documents showing our enrollment and eobs and payment I made for ******* as well. Do I need to contact the state and file an appeal with the Insurance Commissioner? Please contact me and send me my correct invoices and fix my online account as well as appeal the *** in question. I will also file external review if need be

      To Whom It May ********* write due to the unresponsive nature of Delta Dental Insurance Company. Earlier in 2023 I underwent several dental surgeries. These surgeries were due to a health incident, so they were first processed by my health insurer. Upon processing, I attempted to submit the remaining charges to Delta Dental Insurance Company. However, as I was recently separated from my employer, Delta Dental Insurance locked me out of my online account. I tried on five occasions to send a message through the Delta Dental portal and received no response. I also tried calling at least six times and each time the system sends stops responding to my prompts and the line goes dead. These charges are covered charges from when I was covered by Delta Dental. I request a supervisor with Delta Dental contact me to begin the claims process and expeditiously process the claims.       I am having expensive dental work done. Around Dec. 6, 2023, I received an ad from AARP Delta Dental. Thinking I should at least look into this, I called and spoke to an agent and stated honestly that I had dental work scheduled for Dec. 18 and would it be covered. The agent lied to me and said yes. She was pushing to sign me up right there. I told her I would call the next day. Based on her lie, I thought it would be a good deal and never thought AARP would be involved with a scam. I called the next day, went over my dental work - 6 resin composits and was again lied to and told they would be covered. So, I signed up and paid $856 which is a considerable sum to be scammed out of. A few days later, I checked with my dentist and was told there is a waiting period. I then called AARP Delta Dental to cancel on 12/11 and spoke to ****. Here itis Dec. 20 and my refund was just now approved. Unconscionable. I question their cash flow and inability to refund my money. I can't believe there was no way to rush my reimbursement especially about how pushy they were for me to sign up. There is no definite date as when the "gods" will get around to issuing the check and mailing it. Is there any way the BBB could help me and intercede. The policy $ was ************

      On November 6, 2023, my husband called Dental Dental and spoke to a Delta Dental agent to add me as a dependent on his Delta Dental policy. On this recorded call, my husband specifically asked if I had a waiting period to begin crown work, and the Delta Dental phone agent communicated to him that there was no waiting period for me to have dental crown work performed. After receiving that information, I proceeded to have 6 crowns performed beginning December 5, 2023. My plan became active as of December 1, 2023. Delta Dental informed me later that I DO have a waiting period and Delta Dental is now denying me coverage. Delta Dental acknowledged in writing that their representative made a mistake. They said they would conduct additional training with the agent to remedy the deficiencies in her performance. However, even though it is their error, they are still denying me coverage. I have a copy of their denial letter admitting to their mistake and the recorded phone call. I am filing this complaint in hopes to rectify the situation. Thank you.

      I went through ************ out of *****, **.They do not bill insurance directly. I will be filing a separate complaint about that issue. I was provided with all of the receipts, in order to be sent to the insurance company, to ask for reimbursement. I sent the paperwork to Delta Dental, immediately following the procedure. I waited a few weeks and would call to see if the claim was being processed. The first time I called, they told me i was missing information. I clarified on what was needed. I filled out the paperwork and resent the claim. I waited 2-3 Weeks before calling to find out the status of the claim. They would tell me it was being processed. A few weeks later still did not receive my refund. Id call again, only for them to tell me I was missing information and it was not processed. I have been going in circles, like this, since I first filed the claim with Delta Dental. I called yesterday. They told me they processed the claim. They had only reimbursed us $240 on a $32,000 claim. They said the claim was only for $850.00. This is why I am now filing with BBB and the courts.
