      Steer clear of FirstKey Homes and their poor customer service support team, and even worse managed properties. I leased from them briefly, and it was a total nightmare. Endless tickets to resolve deficiencies that were never fully remedied because technicians who came out said they were overworked and stretched beyond their wheelhouse of knowledge. Raccoons and other pests defecating in my attic was the final straw. In ******** ******** came out to survey the problem. Months after moving out, I was told that pest control is a tenant issue. I was charged a $4500 early termination fee even though I informed them of my intent to vacate more than 60 days in advance. The lease agreement called for a 30-day notice.

      NO COMMUNICATION , YOU SPEAK WITH PERSON THAT HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHY THE LOCAL AGENT , NOT TALK WITH YOU DURING PROCESS OF RENTING THE HOME, WE HAVE ISSUE THAT NOT RESOLVE, IT'S VERY STRESSFUL, WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS. THIS SEEM LIKE SOMEONE TRYING TO SCAM YOU OUT MONEY, I GIVE YOU ALL A RATING A ZERO , YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY , STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO REACH OUT WITH KNOWLEDGE , THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE

      I started the application for a home that wasnt available at first but I received a text say that the house was available. I went to look at ******* was definitely a hot mess. I decided to go look at another home and feel in love with it. However, I still had a funny feeling about it so I read the reviews about the company before finishing my application & saw that others had some of my same concerns. I called the very next advising the agent that I wouldnt be completing my application & request to have my application fee refunded (being that its required before completing the app). The agent informed that they will its the account. Couple days later a received another call from an agent requesting that I complete my application, then advised that I had called to cancel & wouldnt be moving forward with them. She stated ok she will note the account. Thru out the next month I continue to receive emails & calls regarding the incomplete application so I called again & the agent noted the account. Everything stopped & I thought I was clear until 7/15/25 I received a package in the mail saying that my application had been approved with conditions. I immediately called them asked for a supervisor cause Ive never completed the application nor send in proof of anything so how was my application approved. The agent advised that he didnt see anything on file saying that I was approved & a supervisor will call me by 8pm. No one called so I called back today & was giving the run around. The supervisor ******* said that the underwriter went a head and proceeded with my application even after I called to cancel it the next day so they wouldnt have to refund my application fee. This company is a scam PLEASE DONT APPLY WITH THEM

      Good evening:I currently reside **********************. I filed a work order Friday due to a leak that started upstairs that has worked it's way and coming through ceiling in dining room area down stairs. I called First Key yesterday to check on status of our work order no response. So I decided today to call the contractor our work order was assigned to *********************. After research from owner she called back states there company no longer does business or have an operational contract with *********. I called First Key emergency maintenance line spoke with representatives named ***** who escalated our complaint. Ref# *******...this is my work order number. I am totally disgusted and upset as much as we are being charged for rent this is unacceptable. Our rent can't be late or we will be evicted so why can't we get a timely repair? We have rented from this company since 2021 but things have changed they take for ever to fix anything now if it's fixed at all.

      Terrible Management and Customer Service.Most of the time you never get a response from anyone. The ***************** over the phone or email support doesnt have any kind of communication with any of the property management team; so you end up repeating the same thing over and over every time you talk with someone and they always have different conflicting answers.They have no accountability, respect, or care when it comes to renting out a property. After viewing the property we had applied for the property and were accepted. We talked with them about the issues with the house prior to move-in; which they will not allow you to do until youve already signed the lease (is it legal?), so theres no backing out without penalty now. They ignored all of the requests until Local Codes was called and submitted fix orders. House had thousands of bugs in all the windows, repair services were poor (but hey, they did them). Just all in all a terrible experience.

      I have been leasing with First Key Homes coming up a year this August. Almost initially from the first week of me and my family moving into this property, weve been having so many issues with getting a clear line of communication from representatives and from upper management. One particular person in management who Ive been having an hard time getting in touch with ******************* Miss ***** not only Does not respond to call back quiz most times when I try to call her number to get information it goes straight to her voicemail and she calls you back within 2 to 3 business days. The neighborhood and the house itself Is gorgeous. But when we first moved in, there was so many issues with this property initially walking in There were so many things that were rushed with the move-in process. From a bucket of paint, literally sitting in the middle of the living room floor, The vinyl tile uneven on the floor and gaps in between. Baseboards missing door handles, clear greasy liquid on them. Unknown stains on the doors and tub area. Then when we try to report All of the issues we had with the walk-in since we moved in on a Friday at 5 pm After business hours, and you cannot contact them during the weekend when I was finally able to login into the portal Monday and Tuesday, it kept giving me errors. So long story short, I was never able to report the proper Damage we found during the moving process. But Chelsea ***** is a nightmare to work with zero stars would not recommend she is so rude. Doesnt respond to call back requests, wait so long to call you back very argumentative, unprofessional. I would love From somebody from the corporate office to give me a call in regards to the issues Ive been having. Once again, Community, beautiful home is beautiful customer service number and upper management trash

      HUGE problems with Warranty of Habitability! Have had raccoons, squirrels, and supposedly rats in our attic since Hurricane ****** in mid October of 2024. Did not realize the problem until late January of 2025 ( since the wildlife probably didn't notice ALL of the openings in the ***** for a while. Firstkeys' own "damage inspector" didn't notice, since he never looked up! I have been reaching out to Firstkey for months regarding this problem, with no results. One of the animals finally chewed through a wall, and dragged in insulation and "bedding", and still no response from Firstkey! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! My mother is 82 years old, and apparently Firstkey doesn't care about the health and welfare of elderly people. If I could give them MINUS 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat ??

      I am extremely disappointed with FirstKey Homes. This company is completely disorganized and neglectful in their property management. The home Im renting is nearly uninhabitable the air conditioning barely works, and the overall condition of the house is terrible. Its clear that they dont care about proper maintenance or tenant well-being.Getting any issues resolved is a nightmare. Communication is slow, repairs are ignored or poorly handled, and the property looks and feels abandoned. No renter should have to live under these conditions, especially when paying full ******** my opinion, a company managing homes like this should not be in business. I strongly urge others to be cautious before renting from FirstKey Homes.

      Throughout the move in process, it felt like I had to talk with six different people through different stages. Each employee had multiple states and such a limited range of responsibilities, so questions I had fell through the cracks (I attribute to inboxes just being so full because the person is responsible for multiple states) The process was confusing. I have been EXTREMELY disappointed in the move in condition of the home and when placing maintence requests to fix the home, I have to wait a MONTH. I called to ask for it to be expedited and while the lady I spoke to was kind, it was an obvious overseas call center. And still waiting a month for repairs such as light fixtures pulled from wall and a hole in the ceiling with leaking insulation (in hot summer)Additionally, they used quick cheap fixes (plank flooring) without thinking about the need for waterproof flooring in bathrooms. Less than a week after move in all the flooring in both bathrooms have peeled up despite mats and normal wear. I didn't check reviews before renting and I am mad I will be stuck here for the next year. I am searching for any clauses for breaking the lease as the month wait for any fixes when I have a 1 year old is unacceptable.
