I parked across the street from the immigration court at a lot that claimed to be "public parking." I should be given a refund because the sign said "public parking" and specified the parking was for the immigration court, which I had to go to in order to file for a client. The deadline was 4pm, you have to go through security, it is on the 14th floor, and I was in a huge rush and did not pay for parking because I did not realize I had to. The other immigration court in ******* has a parking garage that is free for anyone to park at so I expected the same here. There should not be a sign posted that says "public parking" when really it should say "pay to park." Other places have huge signs with the price and duration and it was only after getting the boot that I realize the sign is posted but on the inside in small font. I feel it is unfair not only because I was booted but also for the amount I had to pay. I was probably only parked for less than 10mins and according to the sign that would have only been $10. But instead, because I failed to see the sign and believe that it was "public parking" I had to pay $128.25, an amount that is over 12 times the amount I would have paid if I had seen that I needed to pay for parking.

      ***************,

The lot is clearly signed as a paid parking lot. There is a sign at the entrance indicating how to pay and that failure to do so will result in your vehicle being booted. The meter is located on the left side of the entrance as you pull in and you have to walk past it to exit the lot.  It is "public parking" however there is no indication that it's free parking. I understand that having your vehicle booted is frustrating however you do not qualify for a refund.

      Complaint: 18016205

I am rejecting this response because the lot is not clearly signed as a paid parking lot, if it was then I would have paid. There is nothing from the view of the street to indicate you have to pay nor does it indicate the rates for times. The exit, while it is next to the sign, was not clearly visible from where I was parked to where I needed to walk to get to the immigration court because there is a giant pillar in the middle of the lot. I never read any sign that said failure to pay would result in my car being booted. Like I said, I only realized I needed to pay after the fact which is completely unfair. The meter was located on the right side when exiting and the crosswalk is to the left while exiting, which I had to use to cross the street to go to court. "Public parking" should mean just that, PUBLIC PARKING. It was not public parking, it is a place that forces you to pay so you can go to court which is completely ridiculous. Are there no free parking options if I need to go to court? How is that just? Having my vehicle booted is indeed frustrating and the most frustrating part was the fact that *************************, the person who removed the boot, asked me why I didn't pay for parking and I said it was because it said it was public parking specifically for the immigration court and he basically bragged and said the people not from ******* see public parking and assume it is free parking. Good to know you all are constantly scamming people with your false advertising and misrepresentation to the point where it seems to be a contest of how many people you can ******* out of over $100 for less than 10mins parked at a spot. I will do everything in my power to fight this and if I need to schedule a court hearing to determine whether probable cause existed to install a boot on my vehicle, then so be it.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

Im sorry but you are misinterpreting the word public to mean free. I do not know of an any dictionary that defines it as such. Maybe using a similar example will help clarify. The *************** provides public transportation however you have to pay to use it.

Your comments about the lot not being clearly signed is just not accurate. The *************** has inspected the location to ensure our signage meets their requirements. We have included a picture help remember what the location actually looks like.

      Complaint: 18016205

I am rejecting this response because I am not here to argue definitions with you. We could go back and forth all day naming examples of public services that are or are not free. Sure, you make a great point that public transportation has to be paid for but back when I was in college I never had to pay for public transportation because I was a student and could just use my ID. Free. Also public libraries are called public and, you guessed it, they're free. But that's not even the point I'm trying to make here. I should be able to go to court and expect there to be free parking and the fact that me, any of my clients, or anyone else who is required to go to court would have to pay, at a minimum $10, is truly unjust.

I see the attached picture and yes, I can see from the one from the outside it says there is a pay meter. My problem with the sign is the fact it says public parking specifically for the immigration court which I took to mean it was fine to use that lot if you were going to court. Most places you go to offer free parking. Never would I have thought I had to pay when I am required to go to court. What other choice do I have but to park there but then to also be forced to pay? That just isn't fair and I can imagine several people thought similarly to me because the guy said many people do, in fact, make the same mistake I did and get their car booted. The picture from the inside is the only picture that actually lists the prices and rates and you have to have physically driven into the lot to look at the price. Just down the street they list the price on the outside, leaving no room for ambiguity.

It is clear to me that the tactics used here are intentional. To say that there is public parking for the immigration court but not that it is paid public parking is intentionally misleading and it seems to be in the best interest of you all to purposefully make these signs intentionally misleading because then you get to turn a huge profit! Nevermind just $10, if you all get to keep tricking people into parking here, lulled by the false sense that surely the courts would offer free parking, you get to make over $100 for every single person you scam.

I'll be requesting a court hearing.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

I parked in the Peak Parking lot on *********************************** in ******, ** on 09/06/2022. Numerous signs upon entry from the parking lot on main street stated "free parking for 20 minutes" in the time frame I parked with arrows pointing to the right. There were several intermittently in a row with arrows to the right. I found a spot and parked in the SAME row of parking as the signs. There was no signage directly in front of my car nor any signage stating payment for parking was due if less than 20 minutes. The website with the ** code did not have an option to register with the free 20 minutes. I was in and out of Patagonia to return an item (can show timing of receipt) and my car was booted in less than 20 minutes based off of the booting sticker. One of two numbers on the booting sticker did not work (ending in ****). A representative of Boot Man Inc. came after I finally was off of hold with dispatch and he arrived. The representative stated this confusion happens all the time. I requested he call his supervisor which he did. His supervisor stated there has to be a sign in front of the spot if it's free for 20 minutes and that I had to pay the $116.91 to get the boot off. I asked why there were arrows if the only those spots had free 20 minutes. Also a truck had obscured another sign with an arrow as indicated in the picture. An adjacent row did NOT have a sign with an arrow in a direction indicating a change. There were NO signs indicating from this spot on payment is due upon parking. I was parked in a contiguous row with the signs stating 20 minutes of parking are free. Upon contacting the ************** they stated they have received complaints regarding the signage. My concern is it is a money making boot trap due to unclear and misguided signs. It's been challenging to speak with representatives of Boot Man Inc or Peak parking. I would like my money refunded and signs changed to better serve the community of ******.

******************, unfortunately you are not eligible for a refund.  As your were not in a space designated with a sign indicating 20 minutes of free parking.  You indicated that there are "Numerous signs upon entry from the parking lot on main street stated free parking for 20 minutes".  That is correct and if you had parked in one of those you would have received free parking time.  However you parked in a space without a sign indicating any special terms.    Therefore the only signs posted at each entrance and  the interior of the lot were in effect.. As you are aware the signs indicate the need to pay and how location is enforced with booting 24/7.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/15/2022

you cannot state that there has to be a sign in front of each parking spot as there currently is not a sign in front of every parking spot which is what I alluded to. The signs are very misleading.  If it was clear only the spot with a sign had those free 20 minutes, there should not be an arrow on the sign. It defeats the entire purpose.

Last night on September 3 at 11:40 PM, my parking ended. So I walked over to my car and got stopped by a traffic light across the street. This caused me to arrive at my vehicle at 11:44 PM. I got to my car and it already had a boot on it. When I got it removed finally, the agent told me my license plate was never in their system, even though I paid for parking from 8:40-11:40 PM that night on the *********** app. This leads me to believe that their system screwed up and I was not supposed to get booted. I want to appeal this charge for a full refund. The zone was ***** in *******, **. My vehicle was a ***** Fit 2017. I can supply the license plate information when contacted further by an employee of the company. I have blocked out all personal information from the screenshots to avoid this potentially getting leaked to the public. I also have a call log that proves a time stamp that I called the company as soon as I got to my car. Please email or call me at your earliest convenience for further discussion.

      Business Response

The parking operator requires a payment be made for the license plate of the vehicle parked on the lot.  The license plate did not match the license plate on the vehicle, no refund is due.

On 7/18, I entered a parking garage managed by Premier Parking at ********************** located at *****************************************************************. I had previously signed up for a Premier Parking - Metropolis account using a debit card, which would track facility entry and exit, and bill accordingly. I had recently changed debit cards due to it being expired, and at no point was I prompted by Premier Parking to update my payment information, so I assumed the account was set up with another card. It wasn't until I received a violation notice from ******** Payments, who is Premier Parking's payment processor for the amount of $79.25, which includes the original $9 parking fee. Premier Payments will not handle any notices made by ******** Payments, and a violation dispute made on 8/6/22 remains unanswered. I was never notified or given the opportunity to update my payment information or pay using an alternative method. Ive paid the violation in fear of it being referred to a collection agency.

This is for Premier Parking, a parking operator who writes tickets in house. We do not work with them. I called ************ just to confirm she was given a ticket and explained that we are two separate companies and that she would need to deal them directly.

On 7/26/22, I stopped at **************** on ************* in Buckhead to pick up an Uber Eats order. I received the Uber order at 5:30 p.m.. I was 2 mins away from the restaurant which put me there at approximately 5;33-5:35 p.m. I parked, exited the vehicle, entered the restaurant, grabbed the order. The order was ready so I did not have to wait for the order. When I came out I saw a man on the driver side of my vehicle. I rushed over and asked if everything was ok. I thought he was trying to enter my vehicle. He said, I just booted your vehicle. I thought he was playing until I seen the boot. I said the sign says 15 minutes. He did not care, he totally disregarded the sign. I was very furious but paid the boot fee of $75.00. His entire plan was to hurry up and boot me and drive off. That way I would have had to pay more that $75.00. But to his surprise, I came out much quicker than he expected. I uploaded the Uber order showing the requested time was 5:30 p.m. I uploaded the sign showing 15 minutes. I also uploaded the paid receipt showing the time I paid the boot fee, 17:38:38 which is 5:38 p.m. With that being said, the total time from when I received the Uber order, drive to the restaurant, pick up the order, argue with ************ and paid the boot fee was 8 minutes. Even though I was at the restaurant for less than 3 minutes. I want a refund. If I was over the 15 minutes, that would be my fault. Pay the fee and move on. This was not the case.

We parked in the *********** in ***********. We got booted even though we payed for parking, and Bootman **** sent out an extremely unprofessional and angry attendant who used intimidation tactics to make us pay. The guy they sent was smoking weed the entire time while talking to us, he made inappropriate comments to me, asking multiple times which guy in the group was my man and said all these men and you cant get one to pay this for you? He threatened me, saying he would make things very hard for me, he physically challenged me by chasing me to my car, and when we ended up paying the boot fee to try to get the attendant to calm down, he continued to argue with me and tried to physically assault me. I had to get into my car and close the door on him to avoid a physical fight. The signs that are up in the lot are completely inaccurate, saying to pay in the corner of the lot (which we did), saying the booting fee is $90 (we payed $130) and saying that if we had to wait half an hour or more, it would be reduced (we waited an hour and still payed the whole fee). Bootman **** endangered us by contracting an employee with anger issues who would have easily turned our argument into a physical assault had I not stopped it. When I called the "owner" of the company, he responded by immediately raising his voice at me and trying to demean me, telling me I "didn't know how to use voicemail," and again threatening me. The "owner" of the company encourages the use of violence and intimidation tactics to get people to pay for his scam, making this company a danger to the city and a lawsuit waiting to happen.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/29/2022

There was no mention about weed or attitude or waiting over 30 minutes with her initial written complaint or phone conversation with the Owner. The meter is located directly at the entrance(corner of the lot)  with the company name and logo.  We recognized the potential problem and installed additional signs which are not required to help provide clarity. The signs include the company name and logo, indicating that if you are parked in a numbered space **** to pay the meter located in the corner of the lot. Instead you proceed to walk into the neighboring lot which does not have numbered spaces, pay the meter not located in a corner and has a different name and logo dilapidated all over it.  Whether the mistake was made from just being in hurry or simply not paying attention, the claims are not accurate.  As a matter of fact, the last thing she said was "Thank you for the entertainment and enjoy my donation."  No credit is due, card member will not be refunded at this time.

I am not looking for a refund as I am not actually the person who parked the car or payed for the ticket.  I am simply making a complaint for the safety of future customers; any real business owner would be concerned about contracting an employee who would physically assault a customer.  Obviously you have an endless amount of complaints and reports against your business though and you still seem to not be interested in fixing your customer service.

Hello! I am writing about a parking scam being carried out by Premiere Parking Enforcement aka. The Boot Man, whose *********** address is *********************************, and phone ************. On June 10th, 2022, I parked at the pay lot at ********, 5:56 am. [Also shows up as ****************************. on my purchase record.] I got Early Bird parking via a Park First QR code, the sign is in front of 2 kiosks and several signs for a different parking company- Premium Parking- making it unclear which parking company a customer is paying at any given transaction. This is the beginning of the scam, as all of my payment receipts are from ParkMobile. The payment confirmation screen stated that I had purchased Early Bird parking for $10.35 from Park First, which would allow me to park there from 6am to 8pm, but the screendisappeared before I could take a screenshot, and I didnt receive a confirmation email. I have a receipt on my debit card for $10.35 to ***************** as proof, and have a sign that advertises the special. [Note- Early Bird parking is the ONLY option in the pricing scheme that results in a $10.35 transaction. Had I paid hourly, as the merchant claimed, it would have been closer to a total of $60+.] When I got back to my phone at 5:00pm, I had an email from a completely different parking company (i.e. NOT Park First- it was Premium Parking) that said my time was about to expire. I then paid $20.35 to secure my car for the remaining 2 hours of my shift to "Premium Parking". When I arrived at my car at 6:50pm, my car was booted and the attendant informed me that I had no recourse other than to request a "hearing" for a fee of $50, which is clearly displayed on my receipt as if to intimidate folks from contacting them. I had to pay $125. When I disputed the charge with my credit card company, PPE's admin assistant ********************* sent a response letter that was full of inaccuracies and lies. I am continuing to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

The vehicle was booted for an expired ticket.  The ticket expired at 3:57 pm, the vehicle was booted at 4:27 pm.  A second ticket was purchased at 5:16 pm and expired again at 7:16 pm.  At the time the vehicle was booted, the ticket had expired, which is shown on the complaint's attached receipts.  No credit is due.  Thank you.
