I was driving home from work in June of 2023 when a deer hit the side of my car and then flew into my windshield coming all the way through my windshield and into my car. I had cuts on my face and had to be transported to the hospital. I had someone that pulled over and called the ambulance for me as I was not able to I had no med pay on my auto insurance and since the deer ran into my car no other car was involved. I have **************** and the bill was filed to my insurance company but since the ambulance bill was $4037.56 my insurance would not pay anything stating that the amount billed was unreasonable and customary. Today is 02/13/24 and I am still trying to resolve this. I was in an emergency situation and had no control over what ambulance service was called. I have been transported to the hospital before by ambulance and never had to pay anything more than my what was left of my Deductible. I have called national ems almost every couple of weeks since I received the bill trying to take care of this. The *** from my insurance company shows I only owe $4173.48 but the ambulance service says they will only reduce the amount I owe to $750.00 which is $332.52 more than my eob says I owe. This has caused me great stress on top of the stress of having a deer come through my window and my face having cuts on it plus my car being totaled. This is insane that this company can do this to someone. It makes you wonder what you should do in an emergency situation not go to the hospital by ambulance when you have to. Just deal with the medical issues you may have because the ambulance service is charging such an astronomical amount to be transferred to the hospital. I was literally 15 minutes from the hospital I was taken to. If you have to be taken by ambulance please make sure it is not by national ems. I keep being told a supervisor will call me back and they do not. I have to call them back time after time.
