I am a military veteran who had a custom trailer built by Renown. They outsourced the trailer to another company that built it unstable to my needs. The salesman admitted that he was new and it was his fault. They started in June 2023 and promised the trailer would be completed by August. I picked the trailer up in September and the trailer was built very unstable. The company that built the trailer admitted the trailer was unstable and they would rebuild the trailer from scratch. The original trailer was 10Ft Tall, I told them to build the trailer 9Ft Tall which is less material. The trailer was $40,000. They are now requesting $6,000 more which is not right. I reached out to the owner **** of Renown and he said he was a ********* and he would take care of the issue. I have texted multiple times with only to be ignored. Not a good way to start off the year and to treat a Veteran. It’s been 8 months and just now saying they are finished with the trailer and requesting $6,000 more.

I had a concession trailer built through Renown Trailers and they sublet work to ********* Heating & Cooling and work is not correct and needs corrective repairs completed. I have paid out over ***** for some items to be corrected so the trailer can be used temporarily. Concession windows are too high and we have to stand on a stool to reach customers and no one ever asked me about window placement. The trailer need the propane tank rack replaced due to holes from mounting incorrect location and having to be moved. Holes in propane rack have seam sealer and looks awful. Front sheet metal needs replaced due to improper mounting of propane rack and now has unnecessary screws in sheet metal. I had to have generator box rebuilt due to box not fitting the generator and it also stuck out too far and damaged my 2022 Ram 1500 on right turns. All cabinet doors are not properly aligned and needs to be refitted, counter tops are too high, holes not sealed around pipes inside of trailer. Scratches & dings allover counters and glue residue inside of trailer. TV Shadowbox built to where TV cannot be removed if needed. Scratch on new TV screen, trim outside of trailer shadowbox has a dent. Incorrect gas valves installed and i had to have the correct ones installed.

When *** *** ****** picked up his trailer he received a ********0 discount off of the base trailer and an additional **** off of the aftermarket work done at ******** totaling a ********* discount from Renown Cargo Trailers. ********* *lso personally offered him a discount when he picked up. *** *** ****** said it needed to be cleaned. We paid someone to go to his location and clean the trailer. When problems arose with the trailer *** *** ****** contacted us and we along with ********* told him we would send a driver to pick up his trailer and bring it to be repaired and then have it delivered back to him. We had a driver lined up to go pick it up for repairs to be made and he canceled with the delivery driver. He took it upon himself to have the trailer fixed because he did not like what was offered. He was offered for all repairs to be made but the unit had to come to ********* location. We offered to pick up and deliver the trailer back to him which is not a part of the warranty just to try to fix the situation but after he initially agreed, he later contacted the driver and canceled the pick up for repairs.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: They are jumping around the issues that the trailer still has and I don’t trust their source to repair the trailer. There is still about ******* worth of improper build and some has been repaired at my expense while other work such as windows being too high front sheet metal replaced and propane tank rack that needs to be replaced. This discounts they say they gave is not for any of this and was for damaged items and also for work not completed. I am going to seek payment for damages at any expense if they don’t own up to their mistake.

We have tried to come to a resolution with *** *** ******, everything we offer is not acceptable to him. We feel as if he is unwilling to work with us to get these issues fixed. As in any business there is a process to follow. We can not control how the companies we purchase from carry out their warranty. ********* warranty is that it has to be brought back to their location. They offered to pay shipping and delivery to make this happen, which is not a part of their warranty. *** *** ****** did not accept. The companies that build and outfit the trailer are responsible for warranty work. We have tried to come to a resolution with *** *** ******, we have offered to fix all issues and pay for shipping and delivery to and from his location. We have tried for months to resolve issues with him but if it is not exactly what he wants then he declines it and thats just not how warranty works. The same way *** *** ****** says he does not trust our source to repair the trailer, we cannot trust that an outside party will make the repairs correctly which could result in future issues in which we are expected to repair that would not be our fault. That is just another reason ********* requires the trailer to return to their location so they can assure it is fixed and we know what repairs are made incase any future problems arise. *** *** ****** signed a Trailer Acceptance Agreement when he picked up the trailer. It states he accepts the trailer as it is presented to him and that Renown Cargo Trailers is not responsible for warranty work. Please see attached.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I was forced to sign the acceptance form or they were going to haul it back. I noticed a few problems on delivery and I actually tried calling owner **** ****** and he did not answer and had **** call me back. I went over some stuff that I noticed iced upon delivery with scratches, window height, etc and **** stated I had to sign but rest assured they would address and problems that the trailer has. Also, after delivery **** stated due to the delays and quality of work they were no longer using ********* for trailer conversions and he wished I could have had their new company complete the work and they are the ones that chose ********* to do mine. At the end of the day I paid Renown Trailers to complete my build and not *********. They can either address all items or when can take it to the next level.

    Regards,
