were supposed to test for mold, sent an unqualified 3rd party to look at the house, used an appon theirphone to look for moisture and did not do the required or contractedinspection, they took incorrectsamples and labeledspecimenswrong, also did a wipe test incorrectly. At the outset, please note that this complaint stems from an interaction that took place over 5 months ago. That fact coupled with the fact that none of the allegations are substantiated make it difficult to address the complaint with any specifics. In short, the customer contacted ****************** ("MTC") and contracted for environmental testing services that were performed in their entirety. Now, nearly half a year later, the first mention is made of any sort of dissatisfaction with the testing process.
There are bare and unsupported statements that the samples were "incorrect," that items were "labeled...wrong" and that a wipe test was done "incorrectly." The customer states that MTC "did not do the required or contracted inspection," yet a check of our records confirms that the inspection was, in fact, performed. If it were somehow the case that that the contracted inspection had not been correctly performed, does it not stand to reason the customer would have brought that to our attention immediately, instead of waiting 5 months? These are conclusory statements that conveniently do not allow us to address any specifics of an inspection that was, once again, actually performed.
As far as the purchase of products from ***'s affiliated entity, ***************** ("BioCide"), the customer once again repeats the same pattern. These products were purchased and shipped from ******* over 5 months ago. No complaint was made about them until now. The complaints are cursory, and offer no factual support. For instance, it is claimed "they told me many things that have been proven false...." What, specifically? Our salespeople do not lie. The complaint states that the products were "caustic," but BioCide products emphatically do not burn or corrode organic tissue, as they are non-toxic.
The customer claims she was somehow involved in a "scam" because she purchased air scrubbers and anti-fungal agents to treat her property. A visit to BioCide's website (***********************

) not only clearly sets out the relationship between MTC and BioCide, it sets out the company's mission: "BioCides goal is to provide our clients with effective, affordable solutions to their environmental issues." And yes, it does so by selling all sorts of DIY mold-remediation products, such as sophisticated and effective air-scrubbers (e.g., the BioMatrix Professional Grade Air Scrubber features cutting-edge HEPA MERV-13 air filtration). In this vein, the customer complains that she purchased cases of what she derisively refers to as "mold fogger" with quotation marks, as though the product was somehow fake. ******* does indeed proudly sell a very real product called a Mold Bomb Fogger. So real and effective is this product that it bears the registered "Mold Bomb Platform" trademark so as to **** off copycat competitors. There is only one BioCide Mold Bomb Fogger. There is, however, no complaint that withstands scrutiny.
This customer procured and obtained all the benefits of sophisticated and effective mold testing and cleaning agents for over 5 months, and only now seeks a refund. Let the discerning reader draw their own conclusion.Initial Complaint

On May 6, 2024, I paid $1,676 to Mold Test Company for a VOC air test, which included an additional fee for a one-week turnaround time on my analysis report. It took them 11 days to send me the report. During that time, I spoke with two different MTC representatives who both told me that my results were late due to a ***** shipping delay. I have this in writing, in a text message from one of the reps. I found the ***** shipping details which showed that my air sample arrived at the lab the day after it was shipped. There was no shipping delay. They lied. On May 24, I wrote to MTC asking for a refund because not only did they fail to deliver my results within the promised seven days (for which I paid an additional fee) but two of their employees blatantly lied to me. I included documentation of everything the text message, the ***** shipping info and the date when my report was finally delivered to me. It has now been ten days since I sent that message. I havent received a response to my e-mail, an acknowledgement that they even received it or a refund.Business Response

Called for mold inspection on 4/11 about 11 am. The representative told me about their familys personal experience with mold exposure and how important this is especially if there is a persons more at risk in my home, which there is. A great sales tactic, I must admit. I expressed interest in the medical kit. The representative mentioned pricing briefly, but not in detail. He said I needed to make a $50 deposit for the appointment which I agreed to make, and gave him my card details. After getting off the phone, I receive a text from ******* stating that the appointment date is scheduled and that the urine test would be mailed asap. By 11:45 I asked for the pricing again and he stated *******, ****** and ****** split into two. Asked him to cancel the medical and said I did not understand that over the phone call. He responded with discounting it $100.00 and reminding me that it is her health, as we know (speaking of my child who has a high health risk). Before I could respond he told me that the medical test payment already processed and it is not refundable. By 12:45, my card was charged $50 and $599 for a total of $649. I did not consent to that $599 charge and they didnt disclose a refund policy, he didnt explain details about the medical test before they charged my card. I felt rushed, and tricked. I received an invoice for the deposit but not the medical test for $599. Also, ******* called me back that day and when I said hello I was greeted with that card number is not working so we need a new one in an irritated tone and then proceeded to tell me that he made a mistake and called the wrong person. It was very suspicious and unprofessional. I would just like a refund for the medical test, they can keep the deposit and I will not go through with the inspection. I have not received the medical test and I did not authorize that charge at that time so I would like a refund.Business Response

Set up an inspection with the company and paid a $50 deposit. The inspector came by and completed his task. I asked the inspector if I pay him, and he said no a bill would be sent. No bill went sent from the company to the postal address on file or an e-mail after the inspection was complete. I received an email from this company per today stating that the bill was overdue and that it would be sent to collections in the next 24 hours later. This company failed to provide adequate time to pay the bill and uphold its duties to mail out invoices in a timely matter.Business Response

On 07/07 I called a representative back to get an inspection and med kit purchased after speaking about it the prior Friday. I was informed a $50 deposit would be needed to get the inspection scheduled. The rep said that they would need to call the inspector to get it scheduled and would call me right back. I realized that over $600 were charged during this timeframe. When the rep called me back, I informed him that I did not authorize that amount, and he joked and explained it was for the med kit(he said nothing about paying for the med kit at this time, I was under the impression that it would be brought with the inspection or something. I was going to ask after the inspection was on the books. We scheduled the inspection for 08/08, in which no one showed up after i was very upset and was hoping some form of receipt would be sent, si ce i already felt tricked and betrayed. Nothing.. I called the company once they were open, and they informed me it was because I did not pay the inspection the day before. At this point I was very confused as no one told me this, and my email was never updated as I explained to the rep the wrong one was on file and that it is my junk email. I asked for a refund since the med kit had not been shipped yet, and was informed that they have a no refund policy. I was promised a call from their "director" 3 times, and have not received any form of communication. Now, everyone is dodging my calls. They took my money without providing the promised service after running unauthorized totaled amounts.Business Response

On 06/16/2023 I hired this company. I purchased a 3 sample mold testing for $369.00 plus a $50.00 appointment deposit and a home mycotoxin urine test kit for $599.00 which they stated was "non refundable". I was informed they provide litigation resources after the test results, which they did NOT. The company arrived on 06/17/2023 to take samples from my home and I was guaranteed the results would be delivered within 4-6 business days. I did not receive the results until 06/29/2023 (AFTER the 4-6 business day guarantee) and they were not sufficient enough to submit to my home warranty company. The warranty company stated this was not a reputable company and I would need to hire a company that followed their mold testing guidelines. On 06/29/2023 I explained to the mold test company representative that I had not yet received my urine mycotoxin test kit in the mail and he said he would have someone call me back. Nobody followed up with me. On 08/09/2023 I contacted the company again to explain the results were not accepted by my home warranty company and I have not received my order of the home mycotoxin test kit. His response was that it was delivered and non-refundable but could send me another one. It's nearly 2 months later, I do not need another test from a fraudulent company. BOTTOM LINE: Insufficient test results from a non-reputable company, the home mycotoxin test kit was NOT received, and no litigation resources were provided. I want my money back.Business Response

Mold Test Company.I intiated the call because my grandson was in the hospital with double pnemonia (age 7) and had oxygen levels in the 70's even on hospital oxygen. Since he was a healthy boy, we were looking at enviromental causes and scheduled this company to do a test.Total cost $469 (military discount) 3/28 - $50 3/29 $419 - paid via credit card.The report was unlike anything they've seen.My son-in law asked for a more detailed report, and never received it.My daughter and *** got a 2nd opinion. The other company, ********* intrusion company reached out to Mold Test Company and Mold Test Company never called Ben ******* son-in-law's insurance says that when a company uses thermal imaging, those images are detailed in the report.Ben (other company) went in the basement and found no smell, no visible signs of mold, and no real sign of the water intrusion they claimed. Report stated things like attic, bathroom in living room, crawl space etct - their house does not have an attic, bathroom is not adjacent to the living room and they have a full basement, no crawl space.Then the fact that they sent ** a report, with someone else's info but our pictures - Address on the report was not that of my daughters - I called the company, they simply changed the address on the report and resent. The address on the report was *********************************************** - my daughter's address is in ******************, **. We hire this company to do humidity and mold testing.1. They did not complete their scope of work 2. Their air samples provided were overloaded and company representatives lied about what this meant making our situation sound worse than it was; 2 subsequent companies did the same air samples and they were not overloaded and we got actual air sample results 3. They recommended a fix to our issue that does not align with any US Government or other standard of mold remediation; they recommended a $5,000 do it yourself fumigation and told thats what I wanted to do because I did not want to spend $10,000 for them to do the work because it was so easy We have contacted the company numerous times with inadequate responses.I deserve a full refund of $999.00Business Response

On August 5, 2022, I opened an account with Mold Test Company, ****************************************************************************, after being hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism on February 15, 2022 following water damage to my livingroom wall in April ************************************************************************************************************************** August 2021. My desire was to *** *** ************* Housing for mold damage to my apartment which remains damaged because of unfulfilled HP Action in *** Civil Court. On August 8 I was charged and paid $49.95 for initial processing including test kit that was used to test mold damage in residence and on September 6 I was charged and paid $600.00 to urine sample collection to determine mold toxin level. On February 21, 2023, I had conference with Mold Test Company representative ***********************, to discuss status of case. **** told me that I now must make the following payments for ******************* Estimates: $600 for organic testing; $2,000 for Toxicology; $2,200 for Environmental Assessment. Since initiating the account I did not receive a breakdown statement for all charges applied to companys service and presently receipt of statement is unfulfilled despite being assured by **** in conference on February 21 that I would receive in email breakdown statement from him.Business Response

I received call backs about mold testing on Feb. 17th and I told them before the end of the call that I did not want to order. They called me 3 times and my last call was at 228pm CST and I was transferred to his boss ***** to further be persuaded so I thought this is a scam. ***** before quickly hanging up ultimately let me know I would not be charged. Then I received a call from a Bre at 241pm CST and I told her that I am not interested in this and that I spoke with *****, and she said that she didn't see that on her end, and she was sorry for that and hung up. She sent me an email anyway at 330pm confirming order and I once again replied back NO. I received a test message on Saturday 148pm I received a text message from an ***** to call him about it. I replied that I canceled with ***** and told *** as well. Today Feb. 21 I received yet another email from her expecting a kit and once again NO. From there I called the number listed and left a voicemail for a call back. I was called back by the accounting administrator and emailed 2 more times and she said there are no refunds, and she supposedly heard the recorded phone line. I said No to everything and yet your company after the fact decided to charge me when I said no to 3 people. This to me is phishing and a scam company. The kit that is supposedly sent says it was sent today so this business is wrong and should refund my money as soon as possible. $599 is in question and my card has been shut down because of this.Business Response
